Unbeatable value here for a basic family stay around all the parks. We had a brief mix up at check-in and the very kind lady who checked us in upgraded our room to compensate, which was very much appreciated. The hotel itself is spotless. The staff are all warm and friendly and everything is constantly cleaned and maintained. The pool is shallow but perfect for younger kids. The gym is excellent for a hotel at this price point. We had no issues with the location whatsoever and found it very convenient despite not being connected to the other Universal properties. We didn't try the food but I would strongly recommend purchasing the unlimited drink deal if for no reason other than using it for coffee in the morning rather than paying $4.50 at the Starbucks in the lobby. The only knock is noise transfer between the rooms. The later part of our trip a loud group checked into the room above us and they woke our kids up multiple times each night. Otherwise the hotel is unbeatable for the price and we would absolutely stay again.

What a great hotel for the family. Had everything you need on site. The cafeteria in lobby was amazing. Had everything you could imagine. Huge rooms. We had 5, with room to not only sleep but actually relax a little and enjoy. It's as though they actually designed it for travel with a family. Great perks for universal we're included as a bonus and all very reasonably priced.

The main issue that I had was that I was not able to sleep with all of the noise because the walls are thin. The first few nights because of all the noise that I was hearing I didnt sleep well at all. I think it was a combination of having noisy people next to me and kids running down the hall all night. The customer service was great. Everyone was very nice. If you order grocery or food delivery you have to go to the lobby to get it. I'm assuming that's for safety reasons so I was fine with that. The room is not fancy but it is clean and decent. I loved that the hotel is about 10 minutes from the parks and that you can take the shuttle to and from the parks. We did not have to wait a long time for a bus the whole time and we were there for a week.

I absolutely loved my experience at Surfside inn! The best thing of all is the amazing hotel staff. We were first greeted by Lisa who was absolutely wonderful. She was so hospitable and welcoming and had a lovely smile. It was lovely checking in with her because her very friendly and positive demeanor set the tone for the rest of our stay. She even made sure we got some vouchers to celebrate the birthday of one of our party members! Such a wonderful experience (Thank you Lisa). Besides that, the hotel has everything one needs from spacious lovely rooms, proximity to theme parks with continuous shuttles to them, coffee and food downstairs including a mini-mart like cafeteria, and a lovely pool! Would definitely stay here again!

The rooms are nice. The beds are on the firms side, which I don't mind. Rooms have a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and dryer. The walls are a little thin, so you can expect to hear thumping from the floor above you when kids are running around, as well as in the hallway The hotel has a Starbucks and cafeteria. They also have a do it yourself laundry facilities. The cafeteria food could be better. All the staff were wonderful and helpful. The bus to/from the Universal parks runs every 15 minutes. It is also direct - no stops to other hotels. The ride is about 6 minutes and runs until 1am or whenever Citywalks closes. The only issue I have is with the unlimited resort mug. I was told it was unlimited drinks at the drink station 24 hours. Turns out it doesn't include coffee or hot chocolate. Apparently it used to be included, but was removed recently. If you want hot chocolate, then you have to locate a staff member to turn on the machine for you, which is inconvenient. They give you a coffee maker, coffee pouches, creamer, and sugar in the room, so why not just include coffee as part of the unlimited resort mug?
