Birthday Bliss at the W – Unforgettable Stay! As an Ambassador Elite with Marriott, I’ve come to expect a high level of service and luxury — and the W Hotel once again exceeded all expectations! My birthday trip here was absolutely one for the books. From the moment I arrived, the resort took my breath away. The property is picture-perfect — modern, stylish, and beautifully maintained. I stayed in a swim-out room that was nothing short of stunning, offering both comfort and luxury with every detail thoughtfully designed. The dining experience deserves its own spotlight. Every restaurant served food that was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Every bite felt like a culinary journey! And let’s talk about the cocktails — the care and creativity that went into each curated craft cocktail truly elevated the experience. What truly made this stay unforgettable, though, was the incredible staff. Every team member went above and beyond to ensure that my birthday and overall stay were perfect in every way. Their attentiveness, warmth, and personalized service did not go unnoticed, and I’m deeply grateful to the entire team and management. Thank you for making this celebration so special — I can’t wait to return! 🥂

I loved my stay at W Punta Cana and highly recommend! The service was top-tier. The staff was attentive, and went above and beyond for all guests. We were greeted upon arrival, given an informative tour of the stunning property, and personally escorted to our stunning room. The room was spacious, clean, and had a relaxing view. Despite the current widespread issue of sargassum affecting many areas in the Caribbean, the pools at W Punta Cana were pristine and beautifully maintained. I particularly appreciated the choice between two pool experiences: the oceanfront infinity pool connected to the vibrant Wet Deck (bar and restaurant), and the “chill pool”, which was ideal for a peaceful swim, reading, or simply unwinding. My favorite and what stood out the most was the culinary experience at each of their restaurants. Each restaurant had unique dishes, fresh ingredients, bold flavors and appetizing presentation. The restaurants alone set apart W Punta Cana from other resorts in the area. Although I only stayed for two nights, it was a memorable experience. On my next visit, I plan to stay for at least five nights to fully enjoy everything the property has to offer.

I had a wonderful time during my stay at the W! Right upon arriving the staff was so welcoming and made me feel right at home. Our room had an amazing view and was a delight to stay in. Each pool was taken care of so nicely and the staff was great at checking in on us and providing whatever requests we had. Each meal was cooked to perfection! The restaurants provided a lot of variety with what food options were available and everything always tasted amazing. As a vegetarian, the staff always asked if we had any dietary restrictions and if there were menus that lacked meatless options the chefs always accommodated for it with food that that blew me away. I can't speak enough on how much I enjoyed my time at the resort. It was truly unforgettable and I highly recommend it to anyone who is planning their next vacation.

As someone who stays at Marriott properties often — and who genuinely loves the W brand — my friends and I were really looking forward to this trip. I had high expectations for the newly opened W Punta Cana. Unfortunately, our stay from Monday to Friday was nothing short of a profound disappointment — What was supposed to be a special, relaxing stay turned into one of the most frustrating arguably one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. While check-in was smooth and our room was ready early, the condition of the room was unacceptable. There were visible blood stains on one of the comforter sheets and on the outer edge of the soaking tub. This was not only unhygienic but also deeply unsettling. I immediately contacted the front desk, and while the issue was addressed and the area cleaned, the fact that this was even encountered upon arrival at a five-star property was alarming. Let’s start with the layout: navigating this property is a headache. There are no clear signs anywhere, no map, and the only way to find anything is through a QR code that links to an app — and even that wasn’t accurate or helpful. No effort was made to guide or assist guests, and for a luxury resort, that level of carelessness is frustrating . The food situation was just as bad. We were told there were 13 restaurants and bars on the property… but only three were actually open. Even then, the options were limited and average at best. To make things worse, there were multiple private events during our stay, which meant certain restaurants were blocked off and staff was stretched thin. We tried to be understanding since the hotel is new, but there was clearly no communication or coordination, and honestly, no real sense of hospitality either. Now the service — it honestly sucked. I can count on one hand the number of people we encountered who were actually kind and professional. The worst part, though, was how clearly we were treated differently as a Dominican guests. For four days straight at the pool, no one approached us to ask if we wanted drinks or food. We had to go to the bar myself every single time. And not once — until day four — did anyone even mention that food service was available at the pool. We watched other guests — mostly white — receive regular service, smiles, and attention, while we were routinely ignored. The Wet Deck pool staff, especially the two women working there, were incredibly rude and dismissive. Their attitude felt personal and unprofessional. If you’re going to work in hospitality, especially at a resort that markets itself as inclusive and high-end, basic customer service and respect for all guests should be non-negotiable. Discrimination — whether subtle or direct — should have no place in any hotel, let alone one under the W flag. This trip was supposed to be a joyful, memorable getaway, but instead, it was filled with frustration, discomfort, and a sense of not belonging — in my own country, no less. I truly hope Marriott and W leadership take this seriously. This isn’t the standard we expect, and it’s certainly not the W experience I’ve come to know and love.

Celebrated my birthday at the W with a very large group. Not only was the hotel gorgeous but the staff went above and beyond every chance they got. They were extremely accommodating and did whatever they could to make it memorable for us all! It was a birthday to remember! Cannot wait to come back! The nightclub was so much fun, our group had an amazing time! Special shout outs to Tania who ensured all our needs were met, Jeiry at the wet deck was the most kind and enjoyable person. Esther made my birthday weekend extra special and always checked in on our group.
