W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive

The property is outstanding. Every detail is thought of. The restaurants have their own energy and the food is delicious, and the drinks are so good it gets dangerous! :) One of our first impressions was Sol at the cafe and we started in a great foot! We loved how beautifully decorated it was and the quick service. Nova from the animation team is so warm, positive and hard working. We enjoyed all of the activities we did. We loved the hydrotherapy with Stefani. My partner is learning Spanish and she was so patient and supportive. When I mentioned how good the staff was, she explained that W focuses on “luxury liberated” and as a W brand lover I was in awe of how good she knew the brand and how proud she was of embracing it. And last but not least, we want to thank Giselle at the pool for her AMAZING service every morning. We love her energy and we found ourselves looking for her each time we laid down at our sunbeds! She is a pleasure to be with. I am looking forward to come back and bringing my loved ones to enjoy an amazing property with great staff.

We really enjoyed the W in Punta Cana. It is the first W all-inclusive and imo they’ve hit a home run. Although there are resorts on the same beach, they are a good ways away, which makes the beach a de facto private beach. We also really enjoyed that the resort is on a beach that actually has waves (Although they are a good distance out), and the waves becomes a really cool background soundtrack. The rooms are put together really well. We stayed on the "Beach view" side on the 3rd floor so we just looked left outside out room and had a great view of the beach. We had long ago given up on getting great food at an AI resort but the terrific menus here have reset our expectations. The food really good, much better than other AIs in two ways: Quality: You can tell (and sometimes see) the food is being prepared to order instead of premade earlier in the day and warmed. And once you receive your meal the food is excellent. Quantity: instead of forced portion control meals are served in serving sizes you'd expect at a restaurant at a non-AI. Additionally, the quantity of offerings is greater. In other locations you might get a choice of 2-3 appetizers, 1 meat, 1 fish, 1 vegetarian option for your entrée and 2 desserts, here you get more options across the board. One example is the ceviche at the wet deck where you get 4 different ceviche offerings-all excellent btw. The main pool has the coolest infinity pool that runs parallel to the beach and was a great spot to post up. The chill pool was just as advertised: chill, a bit older crowd, and the resorts swim-up bar. We ended up by the ocean most of the time we were there just hanging out staring at the aforementioned waves. On the beach we never had any problems at all getting a spot to hang out. There were no issues with people putting towels down to hog the lounges. Plenty of room to go around. If you choose to go the beach route as we did here’s who you need to get to know. The always smiling Sancho, the lovely Fior who always brightened our day, Miguel Angelito who we of course called Diablito, and Dayan who we also called Diablito because why not. These four folks made out days truly enjoyable. They’re good people. The food, the resort, the people were all 5 stars. A really impressive effort by the W people with their first all-inclusive.

My wife and I visited this resort to celebrate our 7th anniversary. It was our first all-inclusive trip to the Dominican Republic, and as Marriott Gold Elite members, we were delighted to receive a complimentary room upgrade, which is not something we usually get. The food was excellent, offering a wide variety of options. Since we don’t drink alcohol, I can’t comment on that aspect. The resort itself was very pleasant, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. You do need reservations for dinner which we made 2 days in advance usually to be safe. You cannot make reservations more than 1-2 days out. You use an app called Marriott experience as well to do it. Overall, we highly recommend this resort and would definitely return in the future. We used CJ Transfer Punta Cana to get to and from the airport.

beautiful property in a serene setting. We enjoyed our swim-out suite and the stay was luxurious and all-inclusive. Great variety of dining on property, including room service and a free, well-stocked mini-bar. Nice recreational activities although we would have liked to have seen a morning yoga or stretching class. The only real negative for us is the fact that they have a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the ocean, but unless you like extremely loud music, so loud you can’t talk, you can’t really use this pool. We were there for 5 nights and there was an unpleasant cacophony of music every afternoon and we couldn’t even go near the infinity pool for fear of damaging our hearing. We could even hear this blaring music (although not as loud) back on the deck of our suite when trying to read in the afternoon - hip-hop and similar loud music does not make for relaxation - we finally found chairs on the complete other side of the resort to escape the noise. There is nothing nearby, so if you want to do any shopping or see any local towns you’ll have to hire a car. Food and beverage was outstanding with several very nice outlets and free, well-stocked mini-bars in the room as well as room service. There is one large outlet called the “Taproom” which disappointed me. I expected some nice draft beers, and it was basically just a big bar. There was a full bar and it looked like they had tap setups but they weren’t working so the only beer options were the three types of local canned beer (light, dark, and amber) which weren’t very good, and bottles or cans of Heineken. The “Taproom” was just a bar with limited packaged beer options. Other dining was nice - we especially liked “Taman” which was sort of half open air and near the beach, but it was directly below the infinity pool and its blaring music, although it wasn’t as loud at Taman. Daily arts and crafts activities were well presented and fun. There’s a beautiful spa facility but everything except for the gym is an upcharge, even the use of the hot tubs and saunas. Most everything else throughout our stay, however, was truly all-inclusive.

Algenis and Jose "W Insiders" made the whole trip worth it. We have been to hotels with butler service but they were the best in comparison. Room and service was what to expect with a 5 star hotel. The hotel is new, so there are some signs of rushed finishing work on the construction. The food was great. 24h room service. The hotel "insiders" service communicates through WhatsApp with daily restaurant and activity schedules. We don't get to travel often so this was the perfect 3 nights away.
