The room was wonderful, offering a great view of the savanna, where the animals were very active throughout the day. Since it was March, the temperature was perfect. The bus stop for the parks was conveniently close, making transportation easy.
The pool area was spacious, featuring a kids' playground nearby and a flamingo viewing area right next to it. The bar, located by the pool, had quick and efficient service from the staff. Additionally, the restaurant by the pool served the same food as the buffet, so if you didn’t want to pay for the buffet, you could simply order by the pool, pick up your meal, and enjoy it on your balcony.
The lobby was warm and inviting, creating a cozy atmosphere from the moment you arrived.
Keep in mind that if you're unsure about spending the money, you can visit the hotel first to check it out and decide if it’s the right fit for you. The staff is very friendly and always happy to help.

Our experience here was just okay. It was our first time staying at a Disney resort and we were not terribly impressed with the service. This particular hotel has a very impressive lobby that is well decorated and really beautiful. The food choices were good for a hotel that is so isolated from the rest of the Disney area. Being able to walk out and see all the wildlife was cool... the one time we were able to see them during our 5 day stay with them. We really liked the arcade and some of the other family friendly amenities they had. I was very disappointed by the service though. I asked for help with some things like booking a massage and getting late checkout and both times, the staff were not friendly and not helpful. Overall, I think this hotel is impressive but not worth the price tag. You're better off staying at a Marriott or something similar

Absolutely amazing experience here. Such an incredible hotel, the atmosphere was just shockingly absorbing and detailed. The food at Boma was the best I've had in a long time and the service from the hotel staff was second to none.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We were lucky to have a partial view room, which really added to the experience. We all enjoyed sitting on the balcony and looking at the animals.
We visited both pools, and they were fantastic. There are also plenty of paths and quiet areas to explore around the property.
Highly recommend the hotel and definitely have dinner at either of the restaurants.

Absolutely loved this Disney property. We were impressed with the construction and decor, especially when you enter the lobby. We woke to animal sightings from our balcony each morning.
Good restaurant choices. Only minor negative is the distance from magic Kingdom, but not bad to other parks.

We recently stayed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House) last March 18 , and I can honestly say it was one of the most magical and memorable resort experiences we've ever had. Our family loves nature and animals, so this place was the perfect fit. While we haven’t stayed at other Disney resort hotels yet, it’s hard to imagine anything else topping this—Animal Kingdom Lodge feels like its own special world.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and thoughtfully designed. Our room was clean and modern with no carpet, which we really appreciated. It had a fresh, calming scent, and the overall vibe was so warm and immersive. A sweet surprise was the personalized welcome message on our in-room TV—it had our family name displayed, which made us feel immediately at home. Tech-wise, the room was super convenient—we could unlock the door using the Disney app or our park ticket cards, which was such a nice touch when you’ve got your hands full. There was even a smart Google speaker in the room that we used to play music, check the weather, and just have a little fun.
But the absolute best part? The view. We could see giraffes, zebras, and other animals right from our balcony. Waking up and watching them roam freely in the savanna was such a peaceful and awe-inspiring treat. We were lucky enough to be in Jambo House, and every morning and evening felt like a mini safari adventure without leaving our room.
Dining was another highlight of our stay. The food at the lodge was delicious, and even if you're on a bit of a budget, The Mara was always a solid option. My husband couldn’t stop talking about their signature cheddar bacon blend burger—he ended up ordering it more than once. I also appreciated how accommodating they were with dietary needs; I requested gluten-free bread and they provided it without hesitation. Other favorites were the combination bowl and the tamarind pork BBQ sandwich—I’m honestly still thinking about that sandwich. The flavors were bold, and the portions generous.
There was also so much to do right at the resort. One of our favorite activities was the campfire in the evening. Roasting marshmallows under the stars felt magical in such a unique setting. We had the chance to chat with cast members and learn about the animals, which added to the experience. And yes—meeting Domino the Zebra was a major highlight for our kids (and for us too!). The animal viewing areas throughout the lodge were fascinating, and there was always something new to see and learn.
Even though the resort is large, everything was very walkable. The layout was intuitive, stroller-friendly, and beautifully decorated. Just walking through the lobby and hallways felt like part of the experience. We also felt very safe the entire time—we noticed the strong presence of friendly staff and security, and the resort did a great job keeping everything organized and easy to navigate.
There’s just something about the ambiance at Animal Kingdom Lodge—it’s relaxing, immersive, and inspiring. Every little detail felt intentional, from the architecture to the lighting, the music, the smells, the decor... it was all designed to transport you. The staff was amazing—always kind, helpful, and genuinely happy to be there, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
All in all, Animal Kingdom Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. We truly feel like we can’t go back to regular hotels after this. It was more than a place to stay—it was a full experience. If your family loves nature, wildlife, and that special Disney magic, I cannot recommend this resort enough. We’re already talking about coming back. It was that special.
