DO NOT STAY HERE. DON’T SPEND A DIME AT THIS PLACE. Our experience at Ava Resort in Cancun was absolutely horrible, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. From the moment we arrived, the service was atrocious, and the staff consistently seemed annoyed by any interaction with guests—whether you were ordering food, asking a question, or simply trying to enjoy your vacation. The rooms were a disaster. Housekeeping failed to properly clean or replace sheets, and often overlooked basic tasks like emptying the trash. It felt like no one cared about providing even the bare minimum of cleanliness or comfort. At the pool, the server was beyond rude and took over an hour just to acknowledge us. By the time we finally got any kind of service, the frustration completely ruined the experience. To make matters worse, we came here for a wedding, and the staff mistreated nearly everyone in attendance, including the bride and groom. It’s shocking that a resort hosting such an important event would treat their guests with so much disrespect. This was one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. Save your money, your time, and your sanity—stay far away from Ava Resort.

Check in was horrendous. They don’t have the emailed rate in the system and tried charging me well above the booking price. Had to stand there for 40 minutes for them to fix it. They forwarded the balance due email from my phone to themselves. What a joke. The managers response below is false. That wasn’t my reservation. We made a reservation for two people and had two people. For our friend’s reservation, they booked three people and showed up with two. They called three times ahead of time to change it and management had no record of it. We also tried to make reservations for the restaurants three times ahead of trip and they had none of them. We made reservations again upon arrival and they lost one of them again. One of our friends rooms received no house keeping. And others had house keeping knocking on the door three times between 7 and 8 am. The pool and restaurant staff were wonderful. Management of the property is horrendous. There were also no property maps and we were not well informed of what the resort had to offer. Rooms are beautiful with ocean view and bathtubs on balcony. Not a great swimming beach. No one was in it.

During my recent getaway to Cancún, I had the pleasure of staying at Ava Resorts, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled on a pristine beachfront with turquoise waters stretching as far as the eye can see, this hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury and island charm. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and immaculately clean. Our ocean-view suite had a private balcony where I could relax and enjoy the sound of the waves. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom had high-end toiletries. The resort also boasted a world-class spa, multiple infinity pools, and a fitness center. The culinary options were diverse and catered to all tastes. Mexican cuisine, every meal was a treat. The breakfast buffet, in particular, was a highlight, featuring tropical fruits, fresh pastries, and local delicacies. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive. They went out of their way to ensure my stay was seamless, offering personalized recommendations for excursions and activities. Their cheerful demeanor added to the overall experience. Ava Resort is perfect for anyone looking to experience Cancun. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a romantic escape, this hotel delivers on all fronts. I can’t wait to return for another unforgettable stay!

Hotel is beautiful and has great architecture and structure, but it is definitely not ready to open. It is understaffed and poorly staffed as well. Not all restaurants are open and the one’s that are fill up quickly for reservations so it is hard to get good food. The buffet opens and closes at specific hours and leaves a lot to be desired. When it is supposed to open it is never ready and by the time all the food comes out it is full of people and being early isn’t worth anything. The food is also not great anyways but sometimes it all there was. From 4-6, which is the time we arrived for check in, the buffet is closed and there is no food available anywhere except for one taco stand that understandably if always full because it is the only food available in the entire resort at this time. The new year event had a pre-selected menu that also disappointed. A lot of the staff didn’t know what was even going on in their own resort. When asked about the New Year’s party being hosted for the residents, we were directed in a bunch of incorrect directions and basically had to walk from one end of the resort to the other a couple of times to actually find the party on our own because the staff kept sending us to the wrong places. We also asked if there would be fireworks at midnight and where we could observe them from, to which we were directed to a balcony where we could watch them, and come midnight nothing happened. I recommend giving them a year or two to get it together because it is a beautiful hotel with great potential. They also have to do something about the beach it is really dirty and full of algae. For sure not the beach you are being sold on their website or the “Cancun” experience.

This place is gorgeous. Service is top of the line. There are some issues, as with anything new. But nothing horrible. Food is awesome, taco stand is a must. Restaurants are pretty good. Drinks are plentiful. Spa was great. Pools are incredible. Not somewhere to come if u are looking for a beach vacation. Plenty to do to fill your days. Just wish they didn't charge at all for bowling, but it should be less since they do. Bring plenty of of American cash for tips and shopping. Small bills especially for the hotel as they will only give u pesos as change.
