This was my first time staying at this resort and it will be my last. The ocean is horrible, you can’t even get in it. The water is brown and there are warning signs for crocodiles. The pools are fine, staff around the pool do a great job serving drinks, but there are a lot of kids in the area by the pool bar. The overall staff at the restaurants and bars are very accommodating. The food is average. They specialize in weddings, so if you’re not there for a wedding, don’t spend your money. I booked an ocean view room and was given a view of the Forrest, according to the front desk this is considered ocean view even though other people that were there received the same room as me and did not pay for ocean view. I stayed at over 10 resorts in Mexico, and never had this issue. Would not go back to this resort.

Family Vacation We are a group of 34 people with a mixed of adults, teens, kids and infants. Before I start my honest review. I would like to highlight LEVI from UVC. He is a very nice, honest, transparent, polite and professional employee of UVC. My friend lost her phone at Buffet while we are on our way to the airport. With LEVI help were able to get back the phone on time and my friend were able to make the flight back to Toronto. Thank you LEVI. Now going back to the resort : Pros : 1. All employees are amazing. They work very hard to make their guest have a comfortable stay. 2. Rooms are big and clean. Furniture maybe need a little of upgrade 3. Restaurants - Lots of restaurant we can choose for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Foods are very good. 4. Check-in was fast. 5. Resort are clean and the size is good for older people and with kids. 6. Lots of activities, roller glide, lazy river, wind sailing, ect. 7. Long beach with beautiful sand . You can do long walk at the beach in the morning or afternoon watching the sunrise or sunset. 8. Only 20 minutes from airport. 9. It's gated and very safe. 10. SPA area is beautiful. 11. We did the wind sailing which is amazing. ** WE did not see the crocodile when we were there ** Cons : 1. Probably the beach is not turquoise water because of the mangroves area but they are trying to make it clean everyday. If the weather is good and no rain, the beach water is better.

Super fun! Slides were nice, pretty tame but fun. Lazy river was nicely managed and enjoyable. Very kid-friendly, especially with the drinks, there were some super fun mocktails. The hibachi restaurant was good, both for hibachi and regular dining. Good for kids in terms of size, big enough to have a bunch of fun but small enough that you can easily find your children. Our view was beautiful, super nice to chill in the hot tub and watch the sunset. I highly recommend going to see the dolphins, it was very well- maintained and the dolphins were so cool. Buffett was perfect for a quick breakfast, and suitable for all eaters, picky eaters? There's toast, nutella, peanut butter, eggs, tacos, to be list a few. Only bad thing was that people would go down at !!5 AM!! to claim chairs by putting towels on them. (We did go during spring break though, so that greatly affected how much this happened). Dunno what the 'its a swamp' people are talking about, it didn't bother me. The view of the swamp was actually very beautiful, you can see it from the large window in the french restaurant. There's also a little ice cream parlor that's perfect for a sweet treat while walking back to your room.

The hotel has a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely family friendly. The rooms show wear and tear, along the doors and walls. They could use sanding and paint. The breakfast was excellent. It’s an extensive buffet. There is a small beach and a fun “lazy river” - all in all it was fine, just not above average.

When first stepping outside of your transportation, the report seems quite impressive. The welcoming staff is friendly. The bag handlers are eager to rip your bags from your hands or out of the transportation and wheel them away, so that you can tip them later, even if you insist on wanting to handle your own bags. Check-in was pleasant enough, greeted with a glass of cheap and foul tasting champagne. Given every sales pitch possible to try and upsell to a higher class room for ridiculous amounts of money, but they will come back with o lower rate quite quickly. Once signing the paperwork for your stay, you are handed off to another employee who wants to offer you a "special" breakfast only for you...time share pitch, stern no and a blank face and he will disappear pretty quickly. Off to change for the pool in their lobby bathroom as the room isn't ready yet, but that was expected. The lobby bathroom is quite underwhelming. Suits on, off to the swim up bar. The property is pretty, but small. You can walk it all, and get the lay within 5 minutes. On the way to the pool bar, the smell hits you....the black, sludge, sewage like water sloshing up on the beach. The ocean looked and smelled like a sewage spill. Now, I don't think this part of the resorts problem, but it certainly was major flaw during our stay. Nothing like a Mexican beach vacation at a resort on a beach that you can't use. Now, at the swim up bar, the drinks taste, off....at best. During out 4 night stay here, we tried every drink we could think of. Not a single drink was pleasurable to drink. By the end of the 2nd night we were done drinking. There was no buzz to be had by any of the alcohol, but it wouldn't definitely make you feel terrible. The food was impressively terrible. We were served "filet" as our choice for the meal at the wedding we attending, I don't think a single person that ordered the filet actually ate more than 2 bites. I almost gaged trying to swallow the first bite. Not sure what it was a filet of, but it was not beef. This was the experience we had at every restaurant we dined at. Himatsu, World Cafe, room service, and the Italian place. It was a truly a perplexing conundrum to be in. To have so much food readily available, and yet to be starving, because the food wasn't edible. The swim out suite was actually the best part of our stay, although the swim out pool was unusable as it was butted up right next to the mangroves, which contributed to the stench that surrounded the entire resort. The room itself though was large, comfortable, and clean. The AC worked well the first night. The second night during the welcome cocktail reception for the wedding guests, the power went out for approximately 20 mins, and for whatever reason that messed up the AC in the room. It was reported on day 3 and fixed, but then by the time we went to sleep for our final night the room was uncomfortable hot again. We had to be up early and suffered through it. Back to the power outage, outside of the resorts control as the entire peninsula lost power. There was no communication by hotel staff though and we were all left quite concerned as to what was happening. The wedding ceremony was held right in front of the family pool, so during the vows all you can hear is water sloshing and children behind you awkwardly watching an intimate moment they aren't meant to be a part of. It was very awkward as a guest, I can't imagine what the bride and groom thought. The wedding meal, as I mentioned earlier was quite awful. The resort did do a nice job though of staging the wedding reception on a rooftop area though and the guests did have a good time. Checkout was simple, and quite honestly the best part of our stay knowing that we were departing the resort.
