We had a lovely time at Dreams Sands. We found the food to be quite good, the restaurants better than the buffet at least for dinner. Breakfast in the buffet was really good with made to order crepes, omelets, Mexican food. The beach is really nice, it has a large sandy area and lots of chairs. The property is constantly being swept, cleaned and the staff are working really hard. The daily activities were fun and the nightly shows were entertaining.
The only drawbacks for us were, the hotel itself is dated, after it rained the ceiling was leaking in the buffet area which is not ideal. We really enjoyed playing beach volleyball one day and people played for hours. The next day they didn’t want to put the net up because of wind, then later when it was less windy they did not put it up because the chairs were in the way, we moved the chairs and then they said the ropes were not set up. Other resorts have a permanent volleyball net set up. Surely that would be a more sustainable solution.
Overall, for the money it was a nice resort. If you want the newest resort out there, there are many more expensive options.

I cannot say enough about this place! It’s an absolutely stunning resort all on its own, but the staff and people who work there make it magic They make sure that anything you need or want is taken care of and that you’re comfort is first and foremost. In fact, most went above and beyond. There were games daily on the beach and entertainment most of the nights first quest treatment for even the lowest paying guests and never a sour face. The beaches were kept clean. The room are spotless. I really have nothing bad to say whatsoever. There’s several places you can eat on the resort buffet because of variety and food was so fresh and so well-made I really didn’t have a desire to explore much else. I would say you’re going to Cancun to take a look in the booking this all inclusive resort. Klaudia was our VIP manager and she is absolutely amazing. She will do anything and everything she can to make sure that you have an amazing stay..

I was part of a big group reservation and heard about upgrading room issues and number of beds availability. Not all rooms were well equipped, like missing towels, hairdryer, etc.
The food was good, loved the breakfast buffet, but the red meat served in any of the restaurants needs much improvement.

Dream Sands? More Like Nightmare Sands!
I recently had the misfortune of staying at Dream Sands Hotel in Cancun, and let me tell you, it was an experience I’d rather forget. If you're dreaming of a culinary delight or seamless group coordination, you might want to wake up and choose another hotel!
Food:
Horrible doesn't even begin to cover it. The food was bland, uninspired, and tasted like it was prepared by someone who’s never heard of seasoning.
Group Coordination:
Lorena Espinosa was supposedly in charge of our group, but you wouldn’t know it from the chaos that ensued. It felt like we were left to fend for ourselves. We wasted precious vacation time attempting to get things straightened out. She overcharged for a Deluxe mediocre room that wasn’t even ready for me until the next day. She overcharged me for a room she didn’t even have our rooms ready! I paid another $300 to get the room I had paid initially so I wouldn’t have to move the next day. Do not have your wedding or party here. Lorena is horrible.
Location and Rooms:
Sure, the beach is nice, but you can find beautiful beaches all over Cancun. The rooms were decent enough, but honestly, when you're dealing with everything else, a clean room is the least they could do.
Service:
The service was hit or miss—mostly miss. Some staff tried their best, but it seemed like the whole place was running on autopilot. There's a difference between being busy and being neglectful, and unfortunately, Dream Sands leans heavily towards the latter.
Overall Experience:
Dream Sands Hotel? More like a mirage of what a good hotel should be. With atrocious food and chaotic group management, this place left much to be desired. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere. I wish I had.

We were booked for Aruba and flights got cancelled. The day after that nightmare at airport, we booked flights and rooms at Dreams Sands. A day later we were in paradise! Natalia and Brian were awesome! Kept our family busy and entertained. The view is spectacular. The food is wonderful, we did not have a bad experience dining at the restaurants. We went to them all with a group of 9 and were always accommodated. One of our crew turned 11 and Manuel got her up on stage during one of the shows and made her night! The only issue is the “preferred” customer area - beach seats have umbrellas, might want to spring for a few more umbrellas for the other guests on the beach lounges. Otherwise it was a great time and would definitely consider going back.
