Loved this resort! We had a great time at the pools. Order room service! (It's delicious). The most memorable thing was the service. The staff was so friendly! The shower was a memorable one as well. At Patio (restaurant), we were treated very well by Edgar!

We recently stayed at Dreams Tulum, and while the resort shows some wear and tear and the rooms could use an update, the overall experience made up for it. The beach and pools are stunning, and we really enjoyed dining at the various restaurants—they offered a great selection of delicious food.
As a family with a baby, we especially appreciated the kids’ area, though we wish they had a specific section for babies, as most activities seemed geared toward kids 3 and older. That said, we were able to make it work.
The only feedback we’d give is on the customer service, which could use some improvement to match the otherwise relaxing and beautiful vibe of the resort.

We stayed at Dreams Tulum for 9 days and had a great time. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
I only gave 4 stars because of our experience the first night we arrived. We got to the resort around dinner time and were immediately taken the the Preferred Club bar and we had to sit there for at least 30 minutes before we could go to our room and finally get dinner. While we were there, we were approached by an employee asking if we wanted to get free couples massages and all we'd have to do is listen to a short presentation the next day about the hotel. We didn't realize this short presentation was going to be a couple hours long and was ultimately a sales pitch for the Hyatt Unlimited Vacation Club. And the massages we got weren't the best quality, so the whole situation was pretty frustrating.
My advice is to just say no thank you to the offer and ask to go to your room.
We also had some unexpected knocks on our door while our "do not disturb" light was on. Not quite sure what that was about.
I also paid extra for an ocean view room and we could barely see the ocean from our room, it was more of a garden view room, so that was pretty frustrating. Things weren't quite as they advertised.
Aside from those few things, it was a good experience and the staff were very friendly. It's definitely a kid-friendly spot as well.

I was really not a fan of my experience here, I had high hopes. We stayed here for a wedding, as all the guests were invited to stay at this location with the bridal party.
I appreciated the welcome service. They gave us a fresh drink and cool towel. They also golf carted us for the room. In addition, the outdoor venue was stunning and very well maintained - but our did not meet that standard. Neither did the beach equipment.
Food:
Pretty much everything after that sucked. The best way to describe the food is it seemed a day or two old or microwaved - nothing seemed fresh or authentic. We had preferred club and the breakfast for this was pretty terrible considering this is a 5 star hotel, the food was not well seasoned and tasted like cafeteria food. The waffles and French toast were hard and dry. The juice was okay, but tasted homemade. Additionally, the service was extremely slow, which made it difficult. 😞 Room service food was slightly better, but still nowhere near what you’d expect from a 5 star property. It would always arrive cold, fries and sandwiches were soggy, food was tasteless overall. Honestly, Trader Joe’s microwaveable food is better than this place.
Drinks:
The drinks at the bar were good near the beach but the other bars drinks were watered down.
Cleanliness:
The infinity pool was gorgeous but not very well maintained, there was a dead frog in the pool floating and flies and centipedes along the sides of the walls (which is okay I guess). But it didn’t feel very clean at times. and the equipment was not well maintained or that clean.
Pest Control:
In addition to the centipedes and dead frogs, there were ants on our patio which would gravitate quickly when we our eating outside but the we did not experience this issue at the patio at our next hotel. There was also mosquitos 🦟 all over the property, if we left the door open for more than 5 mins, they would enter the room. I understand we are the jungle but basic pest control is expected near the room and inside the rooms.
Noise:
There was constant construction like noise outside our room, possibly from maintenance but it made it hard to sleep in the early morning time. Additionally, they knocked on our 3-4 times a day to give us random
Things which is fine normally but we had the do not disturb sign outside the room. On at least one occasion someone actually attempted to open the door despite the sign.
Service:
Additionally, communication with many of the staff was difficult because at times they would just ignore us when we were speaking or walk away - or other times there was a significant language barrier to the point we couldn’t order food. This is completely fine with me because I myself am an immigrant and my own mother has had language / communication difficulties - however, many times the staff would be rude or condescending and I truly did not appreciate this - despite my best efforts.
Room:
The room also seemed outdated and did not match the upkeep of the rest of the property. The doors kept slamming shut and the rafters on the bathroom window would not close all the way. The main door to the room also was extremely difficult to shut.
The thermostat did not seem to work. Though we were at the lowest setting, the room temperature did not drop even after several hours and we struggled to sleep. We switched hotels and found that the A/C was much better.

Thank you to Jesus, who provided excellent service two nights in a row. Chef Felix prepared the best meals my friends and I had over the course of the week at Dreams Tulum. We enjoyed every course and dish - take it from us, ask for family style and try a few things!
