Why you should not come?
1. This resort is very outdated room is dirty, moldy and smelly.
2. If you need some help for anything it will take at least half a day nothing is quick there.
3. The bed is very smelly and dirty.
4. Some booking restaurants are giving the same food that they serve you at the buffet.
5. Japanese restaurant is just for experience and food tests bad.
6. White Sand resort is under construction.
7. If you wake up late for breakfast you will have to stay in a long line and long wait time. Same as booking restaurants some you have to wait even with booking.
8. Drinks are not that good like how it used to be. 9. Receptions (some female) are not really try to help all they do is say “let me check” but never do anything, male receptions are very helpful.
10. Check in time at 3 but get the room almost 5 pm. Very bad service.
11. This resort is over price for what you get, food, drink, service.
12. Do not go this time since they are under renovation and entertainment is not how it used to be.
13. Lots of things are closed due to renovation.
Good side:
1. It’s a big resort.
2. Nice beach if no storm.
3. Nice nature and cute animal.
**This was our second time and very disappointed WE WILL NO COME BACK.

Jaime was absolutely amazing! We had such a fantastic time during our visit. He took incredible care of us, making sure we had everything we needed and more. His detailed explanations of the menu really helped us navigate our options, and he created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
We can’t wait to come back! Sending love from Chicago and counting the days until we’re in Mexico again. Take care!
The dessert was out of this world, and those shots were the perfect touch to end our meal. Everything was just perfect!

We just returned from a great week at the Colonial. I was there many years ago and had always wanted to return. The property is immaculate. There are so many workers keeping it clean and our rooms wee cleaned quickly every day. We found the AC very cold and had some trouble acquiring extra blankets and monitoring the AC but we managed. The fridges were stocked with beer pop and water daily. Everything was left very clean and refreshed.
The staff on property was super friendly and the buffets were kept clean and there was so much food to choose from. Everything was very fresh. We did the Bravo dinner and it was fantastic and a ton of fun! We also did the Brazilian and if you are a meat lover you will love this !! My group did the Tepaniaki but I wasnt feeling well so cant comment as I missed out. They did however all say the food was good. Luisa in Concierge services was a super big help getting us sorted out wth some reservations. She is a gem!
The Beatles tribute band sounded great. As did the karaoke night band and the latin night. The theatre is under construction but they said it should be opening hopefully by Christmas. So they use the beach and the lobby.
Some of us had a massage at the spa (80 minutes) and it was fabulous! Woudl highly recommend this.
Love the walks along the jungle like paths and all the critters that are out and about. Sure beats cement !
We didnt have children with us but the ones there made great use of the waterpark. They were having a great time.
There's so much beach ! And lots of palms for shade.
Checkout and luggage transport on day of departure was a breeze.
There's a LOT of resort so you will need to do some walking but the trolleys are frequent if you need help.
The pickleball courts are great and theres basketball, tennis, soccer...amazing facility with turf fields.

Chairs werent an issue and we were a group of 15
Some of us had some dysentery issues but cant figure out what the cause was as the dining areas are very clean and sanitary and they even offer each guest hand sanitizer as they are seating you.
The sportsbar was very busy on football nights and it was handy to grab a quick drink or a snack as well.
One definite improvement needed is the music around the pool. We listened to very slow christmas music all week and it was putting everyone to sleep. The vibe would be so much better with some fun music. We mentioned to the POP team but they said they couldnt change it. It was pretty bad. Perhaps the week before or those that go for Christmas but it was sleepy music and we werent the only ones commenting on it.
Overall a happy group of travellers and I would (and AM) going back !

We had dinner at El Dorada and the food was amazing! Our waiter Jose was outstanding and very attentive at all times. So hard working and made sure we were always happy. Would definitely recommend!

Had our honeymoon here. Very nice location with many local excursions. We went snorkeling, scuba diving, and zip lining. I would recommend getting the all inclusive drinks and food. This is extremely convenient and worth every dollar. The service is fantastic as all of the workers are attentive. You’re treated like a family member here and the staff will go out of their way to make your vacation special. Great food, great drinks, great transportation, and great people. Staying here is a MUST!
