The Grand Palladium Colonial Resort is a great place to stay for an all-inclusive trip in Mexico. I came down with a large group for a wedding and it has been a wonderful stay and the staff have been very accommodating. The resort itself is very large with numerous activities to do, as well as restaurants to try and pools to explore. The beach is beautiful and well kept, and the rooms and environment are frequently cleaned. The design of the hotel is very unique as it has natural scenes incorporated into modern architecture, and cool visits from wildlife. The staff is very friendly and everyone we have encountered has gone out of their way to make us happy. I would like to specifically thank Glendy from the sports bar and Maria Sanchez from the concierge desk for their exceptional service! One thing i would appreciate for my next stay would be better quality AC for the room and that the mini fridges kept things cooler. Maybe it was just our room but would be happy to see that change. Overall a great experience and I would recommend!

Our waiter, Socrates, was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about the menu and even shared the history behind the dishes. The food here was incredibly local and had the feel of a high-end dining experience. The dishes were unique and went beyond the typical Mexican cuisine we’re used to back home in Toronto. Each had a distinct and authentic flavor profile. We would definitely recommend visiting La Adalita during your stay!

I am so impressed with this restaurant / buffet.
Very well organized.
Staff is outstanding, and the food is amazing.
Roberto has been my guy 2 nights in a row, and as soon as I got seated, he knew I would like a cup of tea 🙂
Hope I get him again tomorrow night, lol
Great job, everyone 👏

If I could give this place negative stars I would. First off I have been to Cancun/mexico many times and to many different areas/resorts, so when I tell you this place is bad - it’s bad.
We came here for a wedding so we didn’t have a choice in the resort as guests but Here are some highlights that I hope will help you make a better decision:
- The rooms are absolutely disgusting in the colonial section - we had about 10+ rooms and every single one of them was outdated, smelled bad, molded (black mold in bathrooms), the beds were uncomfortable and squeaky, bedding and pillows smelled like mold, there is absolutely no lighting so you feel like you’re in a dungeon and not a tropical vacation.
-bottled water is like gold here. I have never been to a resort where you have to beg for water. We were so dehydrated every single day because there’s no bottled water to be found anywhere. Room service would some days leave us two bottles in the fridge, Some days they wouldn’t even leave one, one day we asked them for it and they said they don’t have any so we didn’t get any for 2 days. You then have to walk to lobby to ask at bar and it’s 50/50 chance if they have any bottles or not. There are no bottles of water at beach
- the beach service is non existing - if you want to drink something you have to go up to bar/disgusting unhygienic shed and ask for a drink. If you’re lucky you will get a bartender to come to you maybe once a day or once every 2/3 days. Even if you tip them really good
- food is horrible, I have never been to a resort with such a horrible selection at buffets, there was absolutely nothing that was edible, the selection was so poor and nothing tasted good. I got sick of eating bread and butter for every single meal. The only edible food was at the sports bar but you will wait an hour+ to just get some fries and chicken tenders. Towards the end of our trip half of our group had some kind of stomach issues and food poisoning
-trolleys - this resort is huge, getting a trolley is so hard as they’re very selective who they take, even if the trolley is empty some trolleys wont take you as they’re marked for privileged guests. The day I got sick we begged an empty trolley to take us to our room and explained I wasn’t feeling good and he wouldn’t even stop for us.
There is so much more that I could comment on, unfortunately nothing positive but to summarize I wouldn’t come back to this resort if it was free. Please spend your hard earned money and vacation days anywhere but here.

We are seasoned travelers and in all of our experiences at a resort, this was the poorest.
The most disappointing was that the largest pool area was completely shut down and boarded off with sheets of old plywood, making the area look like an unsavory shanty town. Our room, and restaurants were within a 2 -5 minute walk, but since everything was boarded off for hundreds of yards, we had to take a shuttle to reach the buffets, soecialty restaurants and pool each day. Often, this took 40 to 90 minutes because when we asked the shuttle drivers to take us to either Sands or Colonial Lobby, we kept being told no. It was terribly frustrating to watch empty shuttle carts simply pass you by. Had we known that 35% of the property was under construction, we would have opted to go elsewhere.
Food was average at best and lacked seasoning, imagination and was fairly limited. Far too often, the buffet station options were usually empty, even at the slowest periods and very messy.
We arrived at 4pm due to flight issues. Upon checking in, we were told we could not book any specialty restaurants because they close that ability at 3pm. So the next morning, we arrived at 7am when they open, and stood in line for an hour to book a couple restaurants during our stay...only to be told nothing was available the next 2 days, and they refuse to book anything beyond two days. They do offer an online booking option, but it doesn't work. We arrived at a specialty restaurant we 'booked' online, only to be told no again. Apparently our reservation was lost and we were told we could sit and wait the next hour or so to see if they had a no-show and we could fill that spot.
The bars were well stocked, but the bar staff seemed to not care if you got service, even if you were the only person standing right in front of them. They just didn't care, which was rather odd.
The rooms were clean, roomy and comfortable. The mini fridge was full of beers, sodas, waters and a couple snacks. Beds were comfortable and we had all we needed.
Overall, it's impossible to have a bad time while on a tropical vacation, but they sure made the experience terribly frustrating, difficult and very disappointing. I've never been told No so many times on a vacation and I have been to around 56 resorts.
I cannot recommend this location, nor would I ever return. There are far too many other locations that treat guests cheerfully, make their stay memorable and go out of their way to make you look forward to coming back.
