Lovely hotel. It's very busy here. But it has a great Rum bar playing live music. And two restaurants that are also part of the hotel. One of which you can get your garb and go breakfast.
All the staff were super friendly.
Across the street is a roof top steak restaurant and bar. Also right on top of Times Square. Cheap and cheerful club on the same street too. Called Woo woo...I would definitely consider staying here again.
And yes there is a $40 service charge per day. (Everywhere does it. Seems you can't avoid it)

Disappointing Stay - Would Not Recommend
Our stay at the Edison Hotel in New York was extremely disappointing.
The experience started poorly at check-in. We arrived in the morning, but despite providing our passports, the staff didn’t even attempt to check us in or offer any assistance—they simply told us to come back at 3 PM. When we finally checked in during the evening, we were given a room that looked nothing like the photos online. The bathroom had mold in the tub (we were expecting a shower), the room was on a noisy low floor, and overall it felt dated and unpleasant.
After raising our concerns with the manager, we were moved to a higher-floor room with a shower that somewhat resembled the photos. However, even this room was disappointing: the décor was outdated, with wall-to-wall carpeting, a very small bathroom, and an overall sense of uncleanliness.
Adding to the issues, we needed to store our luggage, and the hotel charged us $1 per bag—a policy I’ve never encountered before and found extremely off-putting. On our last day, we requested a late checkout, as our flight was later in the day, but were told the hotel was fully booked, leaving us scrambling to prepare for our departure.
Another frustration was retrieving a package delivered to the hotel. The front desk is often overcrowded, with long wait times. When I tried to pick up my package at 7 AM, I was told I could only retrieve it between 10 AM and 6 PM—a completely impractical policy for travelers who are out exploring the city during the day.
Overall, the Edison Hotel left much to be desired. Between poor service, dated and unclean rooms, frustrating policies, and lack of flexibility, this stay was not worth the money. I would not recommend staying here.

I recently stayed at Hotel Edison and had an incredible experience! From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff made me feel welcome with their warm and attentive service. They went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed, offering great recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. The hotel itself is beautiful, with elegant decor and a charming ambiance that really made it feel like a special getaway. Its location is unbeatable—just steps away from Times Square, so you’re right in the heart of all the action. Whether you’re visiting for business or pleasure, Hotel Edison is the perfect place to stay for both comfort and convenience. Highly recommend!

With the recent renovations, the rooms have been refreshed and modernized. Just make sure to get a Signature room, there are still a few not updated yet. The staff here is great, and location is central to everything, especially for first timers! Right off the high energy of Times Square. Friedman's restaurant is great for all day dining, and has great options for those needing Gluten Free meals. We loved the throwback to the 20's design and murals in the entrance and lobby as well.

The hotel is perfectly placed, in the heart of times square. Unfortunately, we had a leak from above and had what smelt like urine pouring into our bathroom onto our toiletries, etc. When I complained, I was originally told to pack up and drop our stuff to reception, and they would find us a new room by 3 pm. They said they had no spare rooms, when I said it wasn't acceptable as we hadn't washed, used toilet or brushed our teeth, they magically found a spare room. I don't think this was very good service and definitely left me feeling disappointed. On checking out, they asked how my stay was, I said not very good. They said that's great as they clearly didn't listen to my answer. Could be a great hotel if the service improved!
