We are a family of four, who have traveled around the world. The hotel facilities are good. Beachfront is beautiful but given that we are in Mauritius it’s not too difficult. The hotel organises nice shows and good live bands. The swimming pools are not bad although they should provide some pools with shade. Now, the service, of course we can’t compare this to the service in Thailand or China but the service here is beyond bad. The staff are not qualified in my opinion. You can ask something 3 times they still will not bring it. The cleanliness is also very questionable. My socks have never seen so black walking in a hotel room. The grand hall is beautiful although it lacks green and carpets it’s too cold.
This hotel could have great potential to be amazing but it needs work.

This isn't our first time at Intercontinental Resort Mauritius.
We celebrated our son's birthday recently at the resort. As usual, we had a very warm welcome.
Hospitality was great. Service was excellent. Staffs go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one.
They can always be seen smiling. Their attentiveness to details is truly commendable.
We really recommend this hôtel to everyone.

Our stay at the Intercontinental was fantastic! The resort itself is beautiful, and the staff were incredibly attentive throughout our visit. There were plenty of activity options to keep us entertained. We snorkeled off the dock daily, which was a highlight, and had great fun with water skiing—made even better by a fantastic instructor. I also joined a Sega dance class (the traditional Mauritian dance) thanks to some friendly encouragement from Reshma, who was always a welcoming presence on the staff.
The food was excellent across the board. We tried all the restaurants, and each one was brilliant. Even the buffet exceeded expectations with a wide variety of well-prepared dishes. We were never left waiting long for drinks either—Kelly, in particular, stood out as an attentive and friendly face at the bar.
The all-inclusive package was truly comprehensive, with a great selection of food and drinks. It's very clear if anything requires a supplement, but the main menus offer plenty of choices as part of the package.
Both check-in and check-out were smooth, and we felt well looked after from start to finish. The entire experience was stress-free, and we never had to worry about a thing. Highly recommend this resort for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Hotel installations are incredible and really confortável. However the staff training and cleaning of the property needs to be seriously improved to be at the standard of an European 5 stars.
1. Our privacy was completely violated in one occasion when my husband and I were taking a bath at 16:30 afternoon. They knocked at the door and we didn’t answer as we were in the bathtub. They insisted, my husband comes out and before he could see the hotel staff was INSIDE the room. They had already cleaned the room, we didn’t ordered anything. When asked she said “I just wanted to verify if you need room service”. It was absolutely creepy.
2. The cleaning of the room is a joke aside. Bathtub is clearly not properly cleaned, the toilette after 4 days was smelling and they were so evidently not being cleaned. In several occasions they forgot to replace towels and in one occasion they placed water bottles outside our door on the floor instead of inside the room. A scandalous treatment for a 5 starts.
3. The restaurants are very poorly adapted to the European taste with super spicy dishes and no warning. I’m pregnant and specifically sensitive to spicy food. I put that on my file when I was doing the check in and I was ignored everywhere. I don’t know why they asked for food restrictions if they don’t give any attention to it.

*I wish minus-Star Review**
We visit for December holidays, excited to enjoy the warm weather with kids. While the hotel itself is amazing, I’m giving it just one star because of the disappointing and unnecessary policies around water. And bad service.
I booked half board, but to my shock, during dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, they didn’t provide water unless you ordered it—and then they charged for it! Even when we declined other drinks and requested water, we were handed a bill to sign. If drinks aren’t included in half board, basic water should be.
What’s worse, we are a family of five staying in a family room, yet only two small bottles of water were provided daily. There are red ants in beds which bits at night, they don’t change bed sheets until we request after 5 days For a five-star hotel, this feels like a cheap trick to make extra money. But long run they will lose customers
We’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, and this is the first time we’ve encountered such a disappointing policy no water with dinner, Two more days for us, but It’s the kind of experience that ensures we’ll never return in this hotel again
