My partner stayed here for a work trip (Monday check-in, Thursday check-out). He arrived late Monday night and the toilet was already not flushing properly. Unfortunately, the problem was never resolved during his entire stay and it remained clogged. On both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, I called maintenance for him because he was in meetings the entire day. Each time, someone came up, but by the time he returned from work in the evenings, it still wasn’t working. That means the two full days he was actually in the hotel, the toilet wasn’t functional. Maintenance had entire days to resolve the issue, yet the problem persists. It left the impression that either the plumbing here breaks down often or the staff isn’t taking the time to actually confirm that things are fixed before moving on. To be clear, this wasn’t from misuse no excess toilet paper or foreign objects were involved. It was just a basic function of the room that never worked. The location of the hotel is excellent and very convenient for work or leisure in Midtown. At this price point, and from a company as large and reputable as Hilton, especially in a flagship 4-star hotel in Midtown Manhattan, you expect the basics to be reliable. Not having a working toilet for the entire stay is unacceptable.

I recently stayed at New York Hilton Midtown, and wow I honestly felt like a VIP even though my budget was just right for this trip! From the moment I checked in, everything exceeded my expectations. A special shoutout to Anna Jaworowski, our amazing housekeeper, for her exceptional service. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — always checking in, keeping everything spotless, and making sure the room was well-organized and functional. The bathroom was super clean, and every detail made me feel relaxed and worry-free. The hotel’s cleanliness, comfort, and warm service really stood out. Even the dining area felt like a VIP experience the food was delicious, and I left every meal completely full and satisfied. Overall, this stay made me forget my stress and just enjoy the moment. I’ll definitely be back the next time I visit New York. Highly recommended!

First, everything was great in terms of housekeeping and maintenance. The lobby area is also very nice. But boy do the rooms need a refresh, especially the bathrooms. While everything was clean, it all looked dated and was showing signs of age, even the linens. I hope Hilton will invest in this signature property soon.

The good: Nice view from the room, large TV, and a comfortable bed. Nice location in midtown. I had a partial view of central park from my room. The bad:Windows were incredibly dirty though so that takes away from the view. The elevators are relatively slow and can have 1-2min waits relatively frequently. I called customer service several times in the morning and never got a response. There was a fairly long line at registration. The room did not have a coffee maker and there is no complimentary coffee or breakfast provided in the hotel. There were some issues with bulbs not working or handles missing and other details like that in the room. I was going to give a 3 star review but I bumped it to 4 because the customer service gave a complimentary coupon to get coffee at the ground level cafe when I asked about the coffee maker.

Classic NYC hotel in a very, very old building. The rooms feel a little bit like you’re in the 70s again with very outdated decor, though I really appreciated that the bed was very comfortable. The rooms are incredibly well cleaned, but you can just tell that they have been worn down over the years (e.g. peeling wallpaper behind the bathroom door). Soundproofing was absolutely horrendous — I could hear everything in the hallway very clearly, and when my neighbors would exit their rooms I really thought it was my door that was being opened. I did not pay for this hotel because I was here for a conference, so to me it didn’t matter. But if you’re looking for a luxury hotel experience, this is definitely not it. The staff seemed to be amazing though, especially the housekeeping staff. Gym was good and spacious with three Peloton bikes. Location is unbeatable too — great proximity to Times Square, shopping on 5th Ave, and subway stations.
