Hotel staff were absolutely terribly impolite. Typically a lot of hotel staff are very welcoming, say hi/bye when you come in/out, simple stuff. None of that here. When we first arrived the staff were too busy talking to each other to even acknowledge me waiting. We arrived quite early before check in and just wanted to test our luck, as we always do to see if we can get a room early, and if not if we could leave our bags. They seemed appalled we arrived so early and talked down to me as if I was inconveniencing them so much for just simply asking if we could check in. Bartender was incredibly rude to me when I asked for hot water and began to lecture me on how to use the coffee machine in the room which we did not want to use because of how poorly the water reservoir was cleaned and just was trying to kindly and politely asking for some hot water. He pointed to his head implying I couldn’t think and basically was stupid. Totally unnecessary and just ruined my night for no reason. Bellhops and doorman were incredibly kind. Area is great, building is cool. Hotel room was nicely put together. Washroom was absolutely freezing (granted, stayed in January but no fan or heat in the washrooms is a problem). Towels didn’t really smell great after they got wet, found a lot of hair in some of them also. Despite everyone’s bad reviews and complaints, including my own, staff does not seem to care. I think if you find a really good price on this hotel it’s fine to stay here and just simply need a place to sleep and don’t expect much else from your stay, then this is fine. But don’t go out of your way to stay here.

We stayed here for a few days to explore the city and it was amazing. It's within walking distance to Times Square, 5th Ave, Central Park, and a lot of great bars and restaurants. The staff greeted us each time we walked in and they were all very helpful whenever we needed any help. Most importantly, the bartender, Nick, was the best. He was probably the sweetest human being that I have ever met. He was so helpful with any questions that we had about the city. And he made amazing drinks. I definitely recommend seeing him if you stay here (but only if you tip good because he deserves it).

We love Westgate Manhattan! This was our second stay and we’ll keep coming back. Christina and all the staff are amazing. So kind and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, clean and quiet. Very comfortable beds.

This was our first stay at the Westgate and our experience was wonderful! The rooms were very spacious, clean, and had GREAT air conditioning. Beautifully renovated, easy 2 minute walk to Grand Central. Definitely will be staying here again.
The staff was absolutely phenomenal. Very professional and kind. They allowed us to leave our bags, as we arrived earlier than check in, so we were able to freely do our activities for the day. They helped us navigate the city, and overall were absolutely 5 stars to work with.
The only small inconvenience was the sofa bed was VERY squeaky, but there isn't much you can do about that as this is typical with these types of beds. But wouldn't hurt to see if they could be oiled a little to tamper the noise.

Absolutely Horrible Experience!
I recently stayed at this hotel with my friends, and I can't express how disappointed we were. From the moment we arrived, the service was atrocious. The worst part? My friend accidentally brushed her teeth with water that was contaminated—yes, you read that right, poop water!
When we brought this to the staff's attention, they did offer to switch our room, but it was already late, and we decided to stay put for the night. We were told we could switch the next day. However, when we returned to the front desk the next morning, they completely backtracked on their offer! They claimed it was our fault for not switching rooms the night before, which was utterly ridiculous.
The staff was not only unhelpful but also downright rude. This place has some serious issues with customer service, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to stay!
