My husband and I absolutely LOVED this place!! We were super skeptical because of the reviews but I think people that travel to NY don’t understand NY lol
The room was EXACTLY what you need. We used it to shower & sleep while we toured the amazing city. The bus drops you off directly in front of the hotel. It’s so close to grand central station.
It was clean & the staff were so nice to us. We were so busy we didn’t get a chance to use the amenities but the gym looked nice and had everything you needed.
It was very convenient and we would definitely book there again!

This is our go-to hotel for Tandym Group! We love Kevin so much - he always greets us warmly and is the perfect representation for the hotel. He's so sweet and always makes sure we have water and anything else we may need. The rooms are cozy and always very clean. New bathrooms, and comfy white beds/pillows - always get a great night's sleep!

Hotel staff were absolutely terribly impolite. Typically a lot of hotel staff are very welcoming, say hi/bye when you come in/out, simple stuff. None of that here. When we first arrived the staff were too busy talking to each other to even acknowledge me waiting. We arrived quite early before check in and just wanted to test our luck, as we always do to see if we can get a room early, and if not if we could leave our bags. They seemed appalled we arrived so early and talked down to me as if I was inconveniencing them so much for just simply asking if we could check in. Bartender was incredibly rude to me when I asked for hot water and began to lecture me on how to use the coffee machine in the room which we did not want to use because of how poorly the water reservoir was cleaned and just was trying to kindly and politely asking for some hot water. He pointed to his head implying I couldn’t think and basically was stupid. Totally unnecessary and just ruined my night for no reason. Bellhops and doorman were incredibly kind. Area is great, building is cool. Hotel room was nicely put together. Washroom was absolutely freezing (granted, stayed in January but no fan or heat in the washrooms is a problem). Towels didn’t really smell great after they got wet, found a lot of hair in some of them also. Despite everyone’s bad reviews and complaints, including my own, staff does not seem to care. I think if you find a really good price on this hotel it’s fine to stay here and just simply need a place to sleep and don’t expect much else from your stay, then this is fine. But don’t go out of your way to stay here.

We stayed here for a few days to explore the city and it was amazing. It's within walking distance to Times Square, 5th Ave, Central Park, and a lot of great bars and restaurants. The staff greeted us each time we walked in and they were all very helpful whenever we needed any help. Most importantly, the bartender, Nick, was the best. He was probably the sweetest human being that I have ever met. He was so helpful with any questions that we had about the city. And he made amazing drinks. I definitely recommend seeing him if you stay here (but only if you tip good because he deserves it).

My fiancé and I just had the best stay here. It completely saved our trip to NYC. We originally booked another so-called “four star” hotel in Chelsea, which was truly terrible, so we switched to Westgate, and the room was pristine and stunning; the staff were lovely; the location was two blocks from Grand Central and the Chrysler Building; and it was exactly the same price as the other hotel. This is TRULY a four star hotel; it’s super easy to get anywhere in the city from the hotel; and the rooms are extremely nice to relax in. We’ll be staying here every time we come back to NYC.
