Where do I begin? We came here for a mother- daughter trip, started off decent but quickly went downhill! First issue, roaches, one in the toilet area and one ran from under the coffee maker! Those were the only two we saw! Next the restaurants, all the food was abysmal! The buffet was the best option! One night while at dinner, the power went out several times prior to them bringing out our food. Then several more times once we got the cold food that they served us. That night is when the water issues began, no hot water first, then no running water at all! Woke up on the 3rd day of our stay to the sound of protesters, THE STAFF WAS ON STRIKE! So this means absolutely NO SERVICE! All the restaurants, bars, kids club, teen club and pools were closed. The buffet remained open, with limited options and utilizing paper products. Meanwhile, not a peep from those in leadership at the resort. There was no room service, no housekeeping, all of the "all inclusive" was excluded with no mention of how/ if they were going to resolve all of this. They were denying compensation on day 1 of the strike, this strike lasted for the duration of my stay (checked out 10/23). They had a mouth piece, Ximena, with nothing to offer but a bunch of empty promises of having our rooms cleaned, fresh linen and our room service orders finally delivered.... NONE OF THAT EVER HAPPENED!! Marriott should be ashamed to claim this property, as a Titanium Elite Member I'm extremely disappointed with this experience and how poorly it was handled! I will be reaching out to see what my options are for recompense!

This is a resort my family and I have been to 3 times in the past year. Last time was the first week in October. I will start by saying the first 2 times were incredible. The vibe, food, and beach were incredible. Now, this last time, we paid for an all inclusive experience and upon arrival were told in order to get a room that would accommodate 2 adults and 4 children we had to pay $1000 extra american. If we didn't, we would get 1 room with 1 bed. When we asked how 1 bed could accommodate 6 persons, we were given a blank stare and silence. Food was awful this time with food in the buffet being the same for lunch and dinner every day. Our visit was before the strike, had we known of the treatment of staff we would have never given our hard earned money to this brand. We love Jamaica and will always visit but not to this place ever again!

We booked the Royalton as we were in Negril for a wedding. The recent reviews had had us worried but it was really just fine. The beds were comfy, the pools and beaches were great, the food was fine, the interactions we had with staff were great. We did feel we got a pretty good bang for our buck, but it did feel like it just was in need of a little facelift. We wished that there more restaurants open during the day rather than just the buffet and the pool snack bar. I would return to this hotel.

After been traveling to different hotels for Jamaica, Royalton is the worst I have been to. Room is awful. We are on our 24 years anniversary, they gave us 2 tiny children beds to sleep on. I felt like I am in a Jamaican public hospital. Not even a bottle of water was in the refrigerator. The staff are clearly over worked and under paid. Their services were what they were being paid for...I will not come here again. The food was good, drink was good the beach was beautiful and so was the pool. Please Royalton, invest in some training and better salaries for your staff... Y'all can't match up with Sandals no day.

I stayed here for a wedding and it was an absolute nightmare. This was my second time staying at the Royalton and this visit was unlike my first. First: The air conditioning didn't work past a certain temperature. I called numerous times, only to be ignored. Second: The power outages. This caused someone in my party's oxygen tank to run on the battery. The battery eventually ran out of energy, causing a huge issue. Third: The elevator shut off on me and my party as the doors closed. Luckily, the door was partially opened, where we could pry them open. Fourth: Roaches. Enough said. Fifth: All of the alcohol was watered down Sixth: Our welcome package was not given to us, nor was the refrigerator stocked upon arriving. When I asked about the resort credits, I was given a coupon book with discounts. Seventh: The morale of the staff was pretty low. Most of them seemed unhappy. Eighth: My wristband didn't work for my room. One of the front desk staff members told me that I needed my whole party with me to activate it. That was a lie because another person activated it for me. I sent a complaint to Marriott and got a response from management at the Royalton. They sent me a legal form asking me to sign it for Bonvoy points in exchange for not saying anything publicly. I refused to sign it. Stay here at your own risk. It's not a 5 star resort
