Just returned from 5 days at Ochi. Overall, we had a nice, relaxing stay. The staff was very friendly and often asked if we needed anything. Our room was well cared for on a timely basis. Dining options were great although it would have been nice to have a sheet telling us when each dining room was closed.
Bus trip to the resort was too long. After a day of travel, I just want to get to the resort, however, they insist on stopping half way into the trip at a place to get a drink and a snack.
Our check out time on Wednesday was 7:15 and bus pick up was at 7:45. Breakfast does not begin til 7:30 so we had no opportunity to get anything to eat. Curvy roads on an empty stomach is not good when you get motion sick. It would have been nice to at least have some pastries in the main hall for us to enjoy while we waited for the transportation. Overall, the resort, at least on the beach side where we spent most of our time, needs some tlc. We noticed tiles in the elevator that were missing as well as tiles in the pool. However, we did notice that the grounds are well kept, trash is picked up, towels are supplied in a timely manner, and bartenders were quick to get us our drink requests.

After 10 years we decided to return to Jamaica to give her another shot. Chose Sandals Ochi to be that place, boy am I glad we did! Had a fantastic week long trip and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Starting with our warm welcome, singing and dancing, what a surprise. Our butlers Shanae (aka Pencil) and Daniel, thank you. Your attention to detail and warm personalities made us feel right at home. Sheldon and Neal our cabana butlers, fantastic! Made sitting at the pool enjoyable and relaxing. One of our favorite spots was the Rabbit hole, the music and fun here is amazing, guaranteed you'll be singing and dancing. Recently we stayed at The Sandals Resort Hillside for a Wedding. The location is not close to the Montego Bay Airport and depending on the day, the shuttle ride can take anywhere from 1hour and 45 minutes to 2.5-3 hours. Just plan to spend a couple of hours on the shuttle drive from the airport to the actual resort. But you get to see real Jamaica on the bus drive up and if you have an awesome bus host it makes the long drive better. Then when we arrived around 5 PM, it’s a process to get into the room, it still took another 30 minutes although check in is at 3 PM.
The grounds of the resort are beautiful with lots of greenery, beautiful plants, flowers and little critters. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Just plan to spend a couple of hours on the shuttle drive from the airport to the actual resort. But you get to see the authentic side of Jamaica on the bus drive up and if you have an awesome bus host it makes the long drive better.
The rooms themselves are fairly clean and cool since it is usually hot and humid in Jamaica and if you stay in a Luxury Room you have a pool that is shared with one other room. There is plenty to do for entertainment every day and swell as there are tons of restaurants, some better than others, but would recommend eating at the restaurants that require reservations, they are actually really good for an all inclusive. I would say the best thing about the actual visit is the people themselves in Jamaica are just very laid-back and friendly and you will hear lots of ya Mon and no problem Mon.

My husband and I chose Sandals Ochi Rios for our honeymoon, and it was the best decision we could have made! We had an absolute blast—from snorkeling in the beautiful waters to dining at all the amazing restaurants. The food was incredible, and the variety kept each meal exciting. My husband experienced his first massage at the spa, and it was the perfect way to unwind. We also had a private candlelight dinner under the stars, which was truly magical and unforgettable. The entire trip was relaxing and romantic, and we couldn’t recommend any other place for a honeymoon. Sandals Ochi Rios is simply perfect!
White Lightning
We've been here a day and half now and have yet to have our issue with the ac not working properly handled. Have talked with at least 4 people now about it, and it's not fixed.
Asked for a manager, and was told we'll be moved to a different room, and she'd be up in 5 minutes. Already been waiting a half hour.
The room itself is showing signs of age and wear and tare, with cracked walls, and chipped paint.
Spent the better part of 2 hours trying to get things set up to go snorkeling, and still didn't get that taken care of. The staff didn't seem to want to try and direct us in the right direction on what needed filled out, or things that need to be done.
Our first dinner here last night we had surf and turf. I've had better lobster at red lobster. It was so over cooked and was like chewing on rubber. The steak was mostly fat.
So far, just a totally miserable trip, and the sad part, no one here seems to care. I could go on about the stray cats, and the bugs here, but I'm more upset that we can't even get a comfortable room to stay in.
My advice, don't waste your money on this place that only looks "nice" from pictures!
