The room was very nice, comfortable and reasonably large. The staff is top notch. Had excellent recommendations for food (late Friday night - no reservations - Valentine's Day). Easy walking distance to eateries, parking garage and other places of interest. The doormen were very professional would engage in friendly conversation. Will stay again....

As two women, one in the 30s and one in the 60s range of age, we really enjoy staying on the upper west side. Then Lucerne has become our home hotel. We have stayed in a number of rooms. The corner rooms on the Avenue have incredible views, and the rooms with the “obstructed” view are a bit more spacious, and still have city scape views. You also get a breakfast voucher for Nice Matin, which is an excellent restaurant and that would be a different review. Everyone at the Lucerne is so kind and caring; service and housekeeping all do a wonderful job. It’s so nice to be recognized and welcomed by the same folks. Retaining staff is always a good sign for a hotel business. There are quite a few lovely restaurants within walking distance, the bagel place nearby is fantastic and quintessentially New York City. It’s also within walking distance of the science museum and the edge of the park. Note: the subways can take time, and cars can be pricey, if you plan on spending a lot of time in midtown and/or downtown. Unless you don’t mind walking for an hour, haha. We love the Lucerne!

This hotel is a total gem! The staff are super friendly and go out of their way to help. The woman who checked me in—a middle-aged lady with short hair—was incredibly professional and kind. I had just asked to drop off my stuff and grab breakfast before coming back for check-in at 4 PM, but she went ahead and gave me an early check-in. Such a nice surprise! The room was surprisingly spacious (a rare find in NYC) with comfy, clean sheets. The cleaning staff did an amazing job—even cleaned my room the next day without me even asking. The location is great—easily walkable to lots of places, plus the train station is just a 4-minute walk away, and there’s a CVS nearby too. Overall, an awesome experience! Huge shoutout to the reception, cleaning, and door staff—they really made my stay great!

It's a lovely hotel in a great location. If you have gadgets to charge, take note: I found that the outlets in my room didn't hold onto my chargers very well (my Anker 3-in-1 fell out of the socket in the night, so nothing was charged fully in the morning). Otherwise, the Wi-Fi was pretty fast for a hotel, the room was very nice, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. The light that turns on automatically when you open the closet door is a nice touch, and there are plenty of hangers in there. I wasn't able to take advantage of the dining facilities during my stay. Before staying again, I would make sure to ask about the vegan-friendliness of the breakfast service.

Great Upper West Side location near subway and busses. Excellent service from the front desk. The attached restaurant serves an excellent brunch and lunch (I have not been there for dinner). The rooms are well-furnished and in good condition, but they are small even by Manhattan standards.
