I have to say that given all the positive reviews and the very high price, I was quite disappointed. I’ll start with the positives: room was clean and cleaned every day, wifi worked well, baggage storage past check-in allowed. The negatives: the rooms are relatively small, they have no mini-fridge, and sheets/bedding is minimal; the service was not great - I asked for a blanket and had to call again after waiting for it for an hour, there was always a line to talk to the reception staff (in the evening, there was only one receptionist). I had asked for a quiet room but still heard my neighbour talk on the phone in the hallway around midnight. Overall I think the building is too old to be really comfortable and the hotel rooms are priced too highly for what they can offer.

very positive experience, spacious bedrooms with everything you need, shower with tub and very comfortable beds, really excellent. The service was perfect, friendly and welcoming. the location is very convenient as it is close to the metro, the bar inside/next to the hotel is really very good and discounted for those staying in the hotel, ideal for a large and delicious American breakfast. The hotel in general is very well decorated and the lobby is really very beautiful, as is the business center which is really comfortable and practical. Nothing to say, an excellent hotel highly recommended both for those on holiday and for those on business.

Usually people are motivated to share reviews when exceptionally bad or exceptionally good. This is for the latter! I was pleasantly surprised by our almost full two week stay at the Lucerne. Yes, the hotel rooms have a dated style, but not what I would consider”worn out”, for me comfort and cleanliness are number one priority. Room are clean and the staff are exceptional, from front desk to the cleaners - there seems to be a very good culture and management at this hotel. I have stayed in many hotels around the world, and the staff here are among the best.

Great place to stay in. First of all, it is close to a 1 (red) station and Central Park. It is also surrounded by great restaurants, shops, convenience stores and more. If you are not a fan of the busyness of the city, this is the place. The area is friendly and chill, not much noise. The workers were all so sweet and attentive. Ask them for recommendations to eat, they will give you a great list!
The rooms were comfortable and well prepared. We visited the gym and it is also a great amenity.
I recommend this hotel 100%. We traveled most of the city and it wasn’t a problem going or coming back.

The rooms like the hotel are older but in good shape. great location for central park and the museum of natural history and the upper West side. Short walk to the 1 train down to times square. We've stayed here twice as my wife hates being in times square and both times has been lovely.
