I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT STAY HERE. Room was like a stay in the 1900s, trash under the dresser, tub brown, room smells like roach spray. The entire place needs to be renovated. My first time being disappointed by a hotel stay. Not to mention you have to pay to use a microwave?! Don’t stay here! If I could give 0 stars I would 1 is being generous! I slept with my clothes on because God knows the last time those sheets were changed. I was better off sleeping on the floor because the mattress was hard as concrete. I was extremely disgusted and unhappy! And for the price I paid I should’ve gotten a top notch room and service. I knew I was doomed when I hit the old hallway from the loud elevator. Thank God I was able to get my money back. The staff was extremely helpful at the desk but I WILL NEVER IN MY LIFE STAY HERE AGAIN.

It’s just fine. Location is really good for a central stay. Outdated but not particularly kept well, the carpets and wallpaper are peeling. We had to switch rooms as our bed and heater were broken. The room was cleaned well but not very often throughout our stay; there were some very questionable looking stains on the curtains/floor. You can also hear people in other rooms/in the corridor quite clearly. They’re renovating at the moment but most rooms aren’t done yet so don’t expect the quality of the photos on the website unless you’re paying extra. The breakfast is also just fine, it’s just a pastry and a drink but the staff serving it were really nice and friendly. Cheap and affordable though which I guess reflects the concerns.

We stayed here for a week and I don’t usually leave reviews but here are my thoughts: Good things: Location. The location is genuinely excellent, right in the middle of everything, within walking distance or a short subway ride from anywhere you want to go. Was very simple getting to and from the airport as well. Price. We got a package deal and it was relatively cheap. Bad things: The rooms. VERY dated. Which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing but they really weren’t great. Our mattress in the first room was broken as was our heater. When we complained there was a line of customers with similar issues - there always seemed to be people complaining in the lobby. Unclean. There were many stains in our room, concerningly one in particular looked like blood. Hair everywhere which was also a bit gross. Cleaners only showed up some days and didn’t do a very good job when they did. Hallways also very dirty. Amenities. Barely any seats in the lobby so a lot of people sat on the floor - breakfast was very rudimentary. No bar or anything like that. Rude staff. Unfair to say they all were because a couple were very friendly. However, some looked like they couldn’t be bothered when you asked them a question even if it was just a simple “what time is checkout?” Sort of thing. Tipping. Rudest staff member effectively refused to put our bags in storage until we tipped him. Didn’t even say hi or good morning either, just asked straight away for money. I appreciate tipping culture in the US is different but even so this was especially rude. Thin walls. You can hear people in the other rooms and hallway very clearly - not great. DON’T GET CAUGHT OUT BY PICS OF RENOVATED ROOMS ON THE SITE. BARELY ANY OF THEM LOOK LIKE THIS. It is in the process of getting renovated so assume it will be a lot better, but in the meantime I would avoid. Price can seem enticing but spend some more and go to somewhere nicer.

BED BUGS! Do not stay here!!!!! The images on the website are not reflective of the actual state of the run down rooms. My first room had no thermostat….just a place on the wall where one used to be. The room smelled of old moldy carpet. Also, the shower floor was flooded under the liner which made it impossible to stand up while showering (Imagine standing on a water bed). So the next night I moved rooms to a room on the 8th floor which seemingly was better (had a thermostat and usable shower). Woke up the next morning to see bed bugs on a bed pillow. Checked out ASAP. While staff were helpful, they didn’t seem surprised/alarmed about any of these issues as if they are constant complaints they deal with. Yes the location is good but you are better off commuting/riding the subway in if you are wanting to save money on a room. This hotel deserves 0 stars. Don’t be fooled by the website.

I had a great stay at The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel! Yes, the hotel is a bit old, but that doesn’t interfere with the experience at all. Everything was spotless and cleaned daily, which made the stay very comfortable. The front desk staff was super kind and always helpful, and the breakfast was simple but tasty—plus, the people serving it were incredibly friendly. The location is absolutely perfect! It’s right in Times Square and within walking distance of many tourist attractions. Plus, it’s super easy to get anywhere in the city with the subway just steps away. Overall, I totally recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Loved my time here!
