Wow what an outstanding stay! We started our vacation at a LUX resort, which was amazing, but the JW Marriott was next level. The staff were great and very friendly, they all couldn’t do enough to make our stay unforgettable. The breakfast was really good, very tasty and many dishes cooked to order. We tried every restaurant on the property and we were impressed with every meal we ate. The room was spacious and very clean/well maintained. We were lucky enough to have a smaller pool situated between our room and the beach which was great for our 4yo daughter. The main pool is huge and relaxing. One night during our stay the resort put on a traditional ceremony with fire and lots of dancing which was very entertaining and our daughter was able to join in the dancing. We made use of the gaming room and cinema a number of times such great spaces with super friendly staff. If we return to Mauritius we will certainly return to JW Marriott. It is such a picturesque part of the island and the beach is just stunning.

Everything was perfect thanks to the Resort Manager Benoit George. We had an issue while checking in with Hena, she was rude unhelpful and told us if we didn’t like it we can leave. But thanks to Beniot he fixed everything and made our stay spectacular. Service was great everyone was great and welcoming other than hena. Sharma recommended the Indian resturant and it’s 1000/10, the best indian food i have ever eaten thanks to chef malik he is the best. The massage was even greater. Just ask for ASHA or ANDREA they r the best. Overall: Definitely I’m going again.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with refreshing drinks and a personalized check-in that set the stage for an exceptional stay. Romantic Setting and Luxury Comfort The resort is spectacularly situated on a pristine beach with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. Even though we encountered a few minor glitches, the seamless teamwork of the housekeeping, restaurant, butler, and front office staff ensured that we felt right at home. Culinary Delights Our mornings began with a sumptuous breakfast buffet offering a variety of options for every palate, while the in-room Valentine’s sushi lunch was presented with refined elegance. Activities and Relaxation A daytime spa treatment provided a serene escape; the professional therapists and calming ambiance combined to create an experience of pure bliss. Exceptional Service The hallmark of our stay was the impeccable service. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and proactive in anticipating our needs, making our visit truly memorable. Final Thoughts JW Marriott Mauritius exceeded our expectations in every aspect, proving to be the perfect destination for couples seeking a luxurious and romantic retreat. We departed with cherished memories and a deep sense of gratitude. Special thanks to Marie Michelle, Nishal, the Housekeeping Team, the Chef, and everyone who contributed to this extraordinary experience. A Disappointing Stay: Mismanagement and Missed Expectations Upon arriving at the hotel in the evening, we were met with an unpleasant surprise: the room we had booked and paid for back in February was not available. Instead, we were given a room clearly intended for children—with two narrow beds, child-sized slippers, and little gift bags for young guests. The manager assured us that no other rooms were available but promised to resolve the issue by the next day, offering to move us by 1:00 PM. However, the following day, the situation remained unchanged—no available rooms. Only after a rather heated discussion at the reception and our threat to involve the police were we finally provided with a proper double room matching our original reservation. To our surprise, the bed was decorated with towel sculptures and rose petals—apparently, we had been mistaken for newlyweds. While this was a sweet gesture, it was also somewhat amusing, given that we have been married for over twenty years. The confusion continued the next morning when we were delivered a "honeymoon" cake in the shape of chocolate hearts, complete with a newlywed greeting. Despite our explanations, the staff insisted the cake was meant for us. It was a shame that the actual newlyweds—who likely expected this gesture—missed out. Service Failures The concierge service seemed to exist in name only—calls either went unanswered or were met with vague and unhelpful responses. My wife tried several times to book a spa appointment but was unsuccessful, despite finally getting through to someone. The hotel’s website advertised complimentary water sports equipment. Yet when we requested snorkeling masks and fins, we were refused and told that snorkeling was only permitted at a designated time and place. The manager clarified that we could use our own equipment freely—a rather baffling policy. Near the gym, we noticed bicycles that appeared to be for guest use. However, we later discovered that they were available only for an hourly rental fee, which was comparable to the cost of a taxi ride. Unsurprisingly, we did not see a single guest using them during our stay. Final Thoughts The hotel left us with mixed impressions. On one hand, there were attempts at hospitality (albeit misplaced in our case), but on the other, there were glaring failures in basic service delivery. These shortcomings significantly impacted our comfort and made us question the value for money.

Our honeymoon at JW Marriott Mauritius was truly special, thanks to the incredible hospitality of the staff and the breathtaking beauty of the island and resort. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. A special thank you to Shahid who made every day special with his thoughtfulness and impeccable butler service. The entire butler service team was also incredibly polite and responsive. At the restaurants and poolside, we were consistently met with top-tier service. Aroumel was exceptionally kind and welcoming, always greeting us with warmth and positive energy. Deverick at the Boathouse restaurant was a joy to see throughout the week, offering great service with a friendly smile. Keshav was a wonderful waiter who we really enjoyed chatting with. Vimal introduced us to Mauritian rum and taught us how to properly appreciate its flavors, which was a memorable experience. We also loved exploring different wine options with the sommeliers Yev and Natalia, who were both knowledgeable and engaging. The food at all of the restaurants was great, one of our favorites was Indya, we ate there multiple times. The chef and assistant chef came to greet us and it was a pleasure to be able to let him know how much we enjoyed our meal. Beyond the exceptional service, the resort offered many complimentary activities. Stargazing with Dr. Bhasker Desai was a fascinating experience—his passion and expertise made us really appreciate the night sky. Clyde guided us on a beautiful hike up Le Morne Brabant and helped us plan the rest of our adventures for the week. Sandrina’s Aqua Fit class was so much fun—her energy was infectious! Antish hosted a great cappuccino/latte art class. Sunset yoga was also amazing, unfortunately I forget the teacher’s name but she was lovely. Housekeeping also ensured our room was immaculate each evening. The combination of stunning surroundings and the genuine kindness of the people here made our honeymoon truly extraordinary. We’re so grateful for this unforgettable experience and hope to return one day!
