We visited Dreams Onyx Punta Cana in November with a family group of nine, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. The resort itself is beautiful, with well-maintained grounds, clean facilities, and a vibrant atmosphere.
The service was exceptional—every staff member we encountered was polite, professional, and eager to make our stay enjoyable. A special shout out to the beach bartenders Felciano and Kary who were not only skilled but also incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going above and beyond to ensure everyone was happy.
While the resort had plenty of positives, there were a couple of areas for improvement. One of the elevators in our building wasn’t functioning during our stay, which was inconvenient, especially when traveling with kids and older family members. The food options weren't the best, especially the room service. Additionally, while the resort offers a lot for adults, we found the entertainment and activities for kids to be somewhat lacking. Despite these minor issues, It’s a great destination for families or groups looking for a relaxing getaway.

We had an amazing 8-night stay at a fantastic family-friendly hotel. The hotel offered a great beach with activities for kids, including kayaking and more. The entertainment staff was wonderful, providing plenty of joy and activities throughout the day. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options, and there was plenty of alcohol for adults, complemented by fun music. Overall, it was a memorable experience!

I travel to Punta Cana and the Caribbean often and this was by far the WORST resort I have been to. We went for a wedding group and there was absolutely no organization or coordination within the wedding team. The DJ did not know how to transition songs? Photographer had to be told what to do constantly, the lead coordinator was missing half the time, there was a table of 6 for my guests missing- the guests had to wait for the staff to bring in a table.. how embarrassing. Aside from the wedding, the hotel itself was filthy, bed bugs and a nasty sewage smell. When escalated to management, they seemed to not be bothered.
The resort had no night life or entertainment. There wasn’t much food options, super small buffet for a massive resort and no food options at night. Thinking of room service? Unless you want rock hard food forget it! Overall just a huge disappointment.

We watched a lot of videos of this resort and had to admit we were a little nervous. Our opinion is that the resort is amazing. We couldn't ask for better staff. Our room was cleaned twice a day, and if you needed anything, they got it for you. The food is like any resort..some is good some isn't. The pools are very clean and the bartenders keep your glasses full. Another bonus is you get the best of 2 resort in one. You can use the pools, bars, and restaurants at Breathless also. Just remember Breathless is adults only. Oh I almost forgot the beach is beautiful and clean.

I wanted to love this resort but it just fell short of great. The rooms and overall location was nice. The food however was awful. It was the same things every single day and it was just not good. Not many options for kids other than pasta everyday. There were rarely any activities and absolutely no entertainment for kids which was very disappointing. The concierge did try to make it up to us with food which I appreciated but I just wish there was more. It also seemed like water bottles were reused. I opened one and it had lipstick on it.. gross. The rooms should have ventilation because after a week they smell moldy.
