Celebrated our anniversary and had a great time. Our bartender Duncan made us the best drinks every time. Each time he made our drinks it was really good. Food, hospitality and spa was up to par. Will definitely return

Upon arrival, we were very underwhelmed by the lobby. Normally, you walk into a lobby with a beautiful ocean view and surrondings, but not so much here. We booked an ocean view room which turned out to be terribly disappointing. To see the ocean, you had to go out to balcony, stand, lean and turn to the right. Ocean was not viewable from inside the room with curtains open or by even sitting on balcony. Tips are not encouraged here and the service level shows it. Much of the staff is either indifferent to you or annoyed that you're there, particularly in the restaurants. Other resorts where you tip all day, the staff is falling over themselves to make sure you're having the best vacation ever. Here you definitely notice they are not working for tips. The restaurants and hours are limited and the ones with reservations requirements are hard to get into. We're on vacation, we weren't sure how each day would play out so it wasn't something we wanted to plan for days in advance. One reservation we made got made on the wrong week by the staff who entered it and we didn't notice in the app so upon arrival we were told we couldn't be accommodated and should have noticed they made it for the wrong day. The beach/ocean is mostly blocked by trees so you have to be strategic for your views. The music in the main pool area was at such a low volume you really couldn't hear it unless you were actually sitting at the swim up bar. The mineral pool had no music. There are a lot of stairs everywhere so to getting around is difficult if you have any mobility issues. The bars each ran out of certain alcohol every day we were there. The drinks at the martini bar were delicious, but the bartender wasn't terribly friendly and they ran out of different drinks. The balloon bar is small, dingy and outdated looking and very uncomfortable seating. We saw/heard the GM scolding staff for setting up tables/chairs wrong at one of the entertainment areas, he was yelling at someone over the phone and it was very unprofessional to do that out in the open in front of guests. We signed up to go to Margaritaville one night and the bus was 45 minutes late to pick us up, we were just standing in the lobby waiting. When we got there, we were the only people there. While the resort can't control if anyone is there, the bus driver said it's been like that since Covid. Maybe they should find a different offering that is more reliability lively and fun for guests since it seemed to not be a surprise to the driver. The signage isnt good so finding your way around isnt very easy
the place is a maze. While we mostly hated the resort, the bright spots were that the rooms were spacious, nice and clean. The Cassanova restaurant had delicious food and the server there, Ricardo, was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive and fun to banter with. He didn't seem to hate his job like most of the staff throughout the resort. The bartenders at the main beach bar and swim up bar were mostly friendly as well. Particularly Lloyd at the beach bar and a woman, I forgot her name but it was something like Santasha. The spa was a really great experience, I had Misty and her service was amazing! All in all this resort fell short and I'd never recommend it or visit another Couples location.

Spent a week here and wanted to love it, but compared to similar resorts (Excellence, Secrets, etc) it doesn't measure up. The no tipping policy really hurts the service outside of the restaurants. No one comes to you on the beach to get you drinks, towels, food, etc. Dinner options are very limited (3 options, plus room service). Room service was hit and miss (cold dinner, good breakfast). I know they said the rooms were updated - our beachfront suite had unpainted walls in the bathroom, patch marks in the sheet rock, falling apart wall around the A/C unit, etc. We had to constantly request mini bar refills.
The grounds are beautiful, however. Both beaches are small. Overall, if we go back to Jamaica it won't be here. If you are expecting 4 or even 5 star resort, this isn't the place.

We've been coming here for many years and have always had an excellent time. The staff treats you like family, the rooms are bright and spacious, and the food is outstanding. There are many fun activities and evening entertainment to keep you occupied, or you can just relax by yourselves, if that's your thing.

What happened to this resort? We used to be loyal guests at Couples, but after our recent stay, we will not be returning. We waited nearly an hour past check-in for our room, and the woman at the front desk kept saying, “Just five more minutes.” This would not have been an issue if the bellman had taken our duffle bags, but he insisted we had to keep them with us. By the time we finally entered our room, we were starving, only to find that there was nowhere open to eat.
The food was extremely repetitive and lacked variety. There are only three restaurants on the property, and they aren’t open every day. Most of our meals were buffet-style, and I shouldn’t have to eat at a buffet 2-3 times a day. Many guests were complaining at the gala due to the long buffet lines. We used to rave about the food, but now it lacks flavor and high-quality ingredients. Half the time, the fruit wasn’t ripe, there was a lot of fat on the meat, and the bread was always hard. The only decent meal we had was on lobster night. The selection has been the same for the entire ten years I’ve been a guest here. If you are going to serve the same foods every day, at least have more restaurant options. We typically stay for seven days, but I’m glad we only booked five nights because we were ready to go home by day three.
This was our first time back in five years, yet we were treated like first-timers. We weren’t allowed to make dinner reservations in advance and were only offered two sit-down dinners for our five-night stay. Additionally, we could only book the last seating. The woman handling the dinner reservations rolled her eyes at me and indicated that repeat guests had booked all the better times in advance, which is one of their perks. So, newcomers, be warned
I think if you are a repeater, you don't realize how limited the resort is for dinner because they get to attend a repeaters dinner and are provided a credit based on status, that many use for private dinners.
Furthermore, the property needs major renovations. It is beginning to look run-down, even though we stayed in the “newly renovated” G block. While the room was nice, we barely had hot water and the shower pressure was horrible. We didn't feel clean after taking a shower.
A majority of the staff were not friendly. I will say that the bellmen, the server at Casanova (I don’t remember her name, but she wears glasses), Henry, and the ladies at the spa were the nicest employees we encountered. However, the staff at Palazzo were the worst—unfriendly and unwilling to assist. They rolled their eyes at every request, never refilled our drinks, and didn’t replenish the empty glassware at the juice and champagne station, nor did they clean the tables.
We ordered room service through the app and over the phone, and they never got our orders correctly. Orders were taken correctly, but the kitchen didn't care to pay attention. 4 out of 4 orders were incorrect.
Drink service on the beach is now non-existent. I flagged down one lady for a Miami Vice, and after ten minutes of waiting, I walked over to the bar to get the drinks myself. I was informed they were waiting for piña colada mix. I waited, and she eventually told me to take a seat and she would bring it to me. Another ten minutes went by, and when I walked back to the bar, I was told they didn’t have the mix. She knew this but never walked over to inform me. They ran out of wine during the gala. The people at my table had to get up 4 times to get someone to bring him and his wife a drink. Drinks at a 5 star resort should also be served in proper glasses.
They really need to invest in better entertainment. There is no music by the pool, and hardly anyone was hanging out there.
This was our first couples trip without kids in five years. I'm sick about the amount of money we spent on this disappointing trip.
