This was a quick getaway with my best friend. I absolutely enjoyed the laid back vibes and friendly staff. Checking in was so welcoming. Totally enjoyed the sunset and beautiful clean beach. I was a little disappointed on the day of check out as it took over a hour to have breakfast served. Despite that, I will definitely return for a good time.

Great place on the 7mile beach! Our room was easily accessible to the beach and you could walk up and down and enjoy other places. Sandy Haven only provide a continental breakfast which is just fruit and bread - anything else is at a cost. We hardly ate here due to them not having anything that was on the menu. We spent most of our time eating at different resorts. Rooms are good for what you get. Be prepared to be bombarded with people selling you stuff on the beach! It’s quite annoying :(

This is my 5th visit to Sandy Haven. I haven’t been here since before Covid. Boy, have things gone down. The rooms need maintenance but there’s no one here to fix anything. The Beautiful patio, where breakfast was usually served, is now broken. The boards on the floor are falling apart. There aren’t enough umbrellas or chairs on the beach. There’s no security on the beach. And it’s a shame because it’s a beautiful spot. I sure hope they get things fixed up. As far as the food goes, the restaurant is not bad for dinner, but it takes an hour and a half to get served. Period I hope they fix it up

We had a very nice beachfront view. Daily housekeeping and coffee provided every day. Free continental breakfast very basic with juice, coffee, bread and fruit. Only ate lunch there several times. 45-75 minute wait for food, but that’s the standard on the island. Be sure to check your bill every time before signing. They had our room number wrong twice and when checking out we had a $60 charge not belonging to us. Management corrected that. WiFi extremely slow and no cable TV. Overall a nice place, but not 4 stars. More like a 3

Peeping Tom - beware fellow female travelers Subject: Request for Response and Action Following Privacy Violation at Sandy Haven, Negril Dear Ms.Chinn and Sandy Haven Management, I am writing to express my deep concern regarding an incident that I recently came across online involving a guest at Sandy Haven. As a female traveler, I feel it is important to share this experience in the hopes of preventing such an unfortunate event from happening to others, especially regarding the safety and privacy of female guests. According to a public post, a male staff member at Sandy Haven opened a guest’s bathroom window while she was inside, leading to an alarming invasion of privacy. Unfortunately, the hotel’s response to this incident has raised serious concerns. Specifically, the staff confronted the guest without proper support, and no immediate actions were taken to ensure her safety after she reported the issue. This lack of follow-up and failure to address the issue promptly is unacceptable. I would like to bring the following points to your attention: 1. Inappropriate Confrontation – It was reported that the guest was asked to point out the staff member who invaded her privacy and was then confronted by him. This direct interaction was incredibly distressing and compounded the trauma of the situation. 2. Failure to Take Action – Despite a formal report being made, the accused staff member continued to work on the premises, leaving the guest feeling unsafe for the rest of her stay. 3. No Follow-Up – After filing the report, the guest received no follow-up from the management or any apology, which indicates a lack of concern for guest well-being. As a concerned traveler, I would like to know what steps Sandy Haven is taking as of December 4, 2024 (or December 12, 2024), to ensure such an incident is not repeated. Specifically, I am requesting the following: • A clear explanation of the actions taken to retrain your staff on the importance of respecting guest privacy and how to handle such situations in a professional and empathetic manner. • Assurance that proper security measures, such as surveillance cameras in vulnerable areas, will be implemented to ensure the safety of all guests. • Information on how you plan to address guest safety concerns and follow-up protocols, to ensure a transparent and thorough response in the future. This is not only important for the well-being of future guests but also for restoring the reputation of Sandy Haven. It is my hope that the management will take appropriate action to prevent such incidents and demonstrate a commitment to guest safety and privacy. I had a wonderful stay at Moon Palace Jamaica! The resort is beautiful, with clean and well-maintained rooms that made my stay comfortable and relaxing. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ensuring a great experience. The variety of food options was impressive, but the Jamaican cuisine was a bit of a hit or miss—it could definitely use some improvement to truly showcase the island’s rich flavors. Additionally, the room service menu could have a better selection to match the quality of the on-site dining options. Overall, I loved my stay and would definitely return. With a few enhancements to the food, it would be even more amazing!

This resort has the best location/layout of any all-inclusive I've been to. Rooms we clean and pretty updated. Nice lobby/bars. The food is what the food is. You know what you're getting at this type of resort. The bartenders are outstanding. Shane and David at the pool bar made the trip. Will be back.

One of the best experiences I’ve had at a resort. I felt so safe the entire time, I had one other person with me and we had the best service possible. Everyone is so sweet and all have the best energy. The beach was so clean and the water was beautiful. Perfect place for any age, especially young couples or young groups. 10/10 would recommend. 100% returning!!

Upon arrival we were Greeted by staff after coming off the passenger shuttle. We were given very refreshing cool towels, to apply to our faces to cool it from the heat, and the smell was very light. We checked in at the front desk, all front desk personnel were pleasant and we received a complimentary drink as well. Some of the friends we arrived with had to wait about 2 hours for their rooms to become available. That's not so great when you were told that upon arrival the room would be available. The Waiting area was not very clean, the couches in the lounge area located by the entry they are filthy, smell very bad and covered in filth. Almost as if people sit there when they are wet and the couches are not dried properly, so they air dry but with all the dirty stains. We stayed in room 21422, on the 14th floor. Check in date : March 19, 2025 Check out date : March 23, 2025 Price paid for this trip estimate: over $4,000.00 we were here for a destination wedding and it was a very underwhelming experience. The bathroom toilets did not flush properly, we found ourselves having to go back to make sure it flushed. No proper air flow to draw out moisture when you take shower. The little fan above the toilet is supposed to act as an exhaust fan, ours never worked properly. The hallways where our room was located were very dirty and had a very bad odor. There were stains in the hallway carpet, like they tried to only spot clean certain areas and the floors and rugs were very sticky, spots and dirt everywhere. The walls were dirty in our bathroom, like they left an old blue cleaner or something on wall and the walls had residue. The Elevator was HORRIBLE, at times getting stuck with us in it, the door opening and closing for about 5 minutes until it finally closed to get us to the floor we requested. The walls were dirty in the elevator and the elevator phones were very dirty and outdated. Downstairs going towards outside, it smelled of mold and was closed off with a black tarp. The outside of the resort if your room was on the top floors you could see that they also don't pressure wash the outside facilities. Dining experience: the restaurants requiring a reservation were always booked, waiting about 2 hours to just get just the appetizers you ordered and the food tasting was mediocre. The entertainment shows were great. The on-site night club was extremely too cold and people would go in and walk back out. They only played Reggae and some Afro beats, no pop or today's new music. The location could use MANY UPDATES, and for all the money these places make their updates should be top tier. I have no plans on returning but this is just my opinion of the Resort and the experience we had. For our friends to have chosen this resort as the Destination for their wedding, we were all looking for more. Even they had issues with their plumbing and the resort wanted to downgrade them to a different room and layout. It was not the best experience and I hope this review finds the right person or persons, so that someone else has a better experience than we did.

Moon Palace Jamaica is exceptional, beautiful, and a high quality resort. On this beautiful, spacious, and grand property, there are several restaurants with various culinary tastes. The food was authentic and delicious to each of their respectable cuisines, and was some of the best food. Still dreaming about the most amazing traditional Jamaican food at the Jerk Hut, the Indian food at Sundeck, the teppanyaki at Momo, and the Italian food at Gondola. The service was top tier on all fronts - at the bars, restaurants, pools, beach, and the room. All the bars were amazing, loved the Piano Bar. The 24 hour dessert/coffee shop was probably the best highlight - I wish I could have that particular iced vanilla latte every single day for the rest of my life. Loved the crepes, cookies, truffles, ICE CREAM, cake slices, and other exquisite desserts. We also did the swimming with the dolphin excursion at Dolphin Cove and that was truly food for my soul. The dolphins that we had, Selena and Ally were gorgeous creatures and I was truly mesmerized by how they were able to push us at the speed that they did. I also climbed the Dunn's River Falls, an excursion that is outside of the resort. The climb was amazing - pretty daunting and slippery lol, but definitely tested my athleticism. Felt so accomplished afterward. Lastly, the views on the resort are unmatched. Especially during sunset, and after, during twilight.

Tamera and Dwayne were absolutely fantastic. They were always available and checking in on how we were doing. Their attention and helpfulness really made the trip. They handled everything from dinner reservations to food and drinks on the beach. Thank you, Dwayne and Tamera! A shout out to Travis, too! The real selling point of the resort is the location, ease of accessing all the amenities, and the staff. The beach is beautiful and the reason to come to this resort!

Great resort with even better staff. Our butlers Tamera and Dwayne were wonderful and very attentive to all our needs. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the resort and rooms were always very clean. We brought our 3 yr old son and everyone was so sweet and accommodating to him which was a bonus. Highly recommend this resort. We had an amazing time!

We recently stayed at the resort and overall had a good experience, thanks in large part to the amazing staff—especially Dwayne and Tamera. Their attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine care made a big difference and truly elevated our stay. They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of, and it really showed. That said, there are a few areas that could use improvement. The room itself felt a bit dated and could definitely benefit from an upgrade. When we first arrived, the water pressure in the bathroom was spotty, although it did sort itself out eventually. The hallway paint was peeling in some areas, which took away from the overall appearance of the resort. As for the dining experiences: the food was decent, but there were some drawbacks. The wait times to be seated and served were consistently long, especially at the Asian restaurant. Mahogany, unfortunately, had quite a few flies inside, which made it difficult to enjoy the meal. On the upside, the Italian restaurant was consistently good, though it’s quite small, so the wait times there were also on the longer side. Despite the facility-related shortcomings, the staff did an incredible job making the most of what they had. Dwayne and Tamera, in particular, made the experience memorable with their kindness and top-notch service. With a few updates and attention to detail, this resort has the potential to go from good to exceptional.

A Slice of Paradise! Sunset at the Palms Resort exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome—absolutely excellent service all around. The tropical atmosphere is stunning and so unique, it truly feels like you’re in your own private paradise. The food was delicious, and every detail of our stay was just perfect. We met some amazing people during our time there, which made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for the perfect place to relax, unwind, and soak in a gorgeous beach with breathtaking sunsets, this is it. I can’t recommend it highly enough, and I hope to return very soon!

Our visit was in June 2024. My boyfriend and myself loved it here! The staff were amazing! Food and drinks were good for an all inclusive. Very chill quiet if you want a party this is not your spot, while traveling I like to have a quiet home base. If we want to party we can find one 🙌🏻 if you are a traveler you understand this concept We had a great time! We will be back.

Came back for a second visit January 21-28, as we loved it last April 2024. Better weather in January (cooler), but be sure to take your bug spray to the beach! This adults only resort is absolutely wonderful - excellent staff and service, fantastic food, gorgeous jungle surroundings; beautiful beach is across the road from the resort, and a crossing guard ensures your safety. There are clean, modern washroom facilities at the beach, plus a beach bar with more great food. Never a problem getting a lounge chair at the beach or by the pool. Sunset is a boutique resort, so even at full occupancy, it's never crowded anywhere, and no lineups for food, which is delicious and never disappoints. A good idea though, is to grab your beach/pool towels in the morning, as it can take awhile for the staff to replenish the supply, due to guests not returning used ones. (Shame on those guests!) The clean, comfortable, charming treehouse "standard" rooms are the same as the "deluxe" rooms, only difference is that they are closer to the road, which can be noisy. Earplugs solved that problem for me! Many guests we met had been there multiple times, and we will be back again. Highly recommend for a relaxing vacation!

Our first trip to Jamaica became a wonderful memory thanks to this resort. The resort is well-maintained, and the staff are professional and friendly. The buffet and restaurant food were especially excellent. The private beach right across the street is beautiful. I can see why so many guests choose to return here. P.S. The Blue Mountain coffee sold on the resort’s private beach was all burnt beans. Be cautious of a few scammers.

This place was magical. Visited in March 2024. It was so beautiful and so peaceful. Yes, it is 1.5hr away from the airport so be prepared for a bit of travel but once you get there you can just relax. Upon arrival, during our check in process we were served with a delicious drink, it was non alcoholic and so refreshing! The beach is a short walk across the street (they have their own crossing guards). Private beach area for only guests with a restaurant/ bar on the beach so they can serve you. They put out chairs specifically for you and where you want to sit. There is no lack of shade, which is great. Food throughout the resort was good, no complaints, but we aren't picky. This is not a party kind of resort, very laid back. Perfect for the folks that are just looking to rest and relax. Room was very well air conditioned and shower was great after a day at the beach. We'll be back many many more times!

To start, we had a wonderful time in Jamaica - we loved the people and the food, but I wouldn't call this a five-star hotel. This was our first all-inclusive experience. Many people we talked to said this was not nearly as nice of a resort compared to other all-inclusives or even other Secrets The pools, beach and exterior grounds are gorgeous and the hotel itself is well kept and clean but the rooms are dated, especially the bathrooms. They need some major updating. When we saw the preferred side there is definitely a difference in terms of ambiance and overall look/feel. We didn't receive turndown or housekeeping until Day 3 after we provided feedback through the Hyatt App (I did love the functionality of the app). I will say they immediately addressed the feedback and the final two days service was excellent, and they did provide access to the Preferred side of the resort along with dinner at one of the Preferred restaurants with a reservation, which was great b/c the Wild Orchid restaurants do not take reservations. The food was great everywhere we ate throughout the resort - room service was just OK, and I would say Blue Mountain was our least favorite. The Breakfast Buffet was excellent. I mention this because the first night we went to dinner at 7:30, and we were told they may not be able to seat us before they close at 10. Thankfully we found one restaurant that got us in by 8:30. But this really shocked me so we ensured we were down for dinner by 5:45-6 every night to ensure we'd get in. Honestly the best food was the Jerk Chicken hut on the beach - HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Most of the staff is quite friendly but some bar service was not great and the drinks were incredibly weak. The pool bars were the best for service and drinks. Most of the restaurant staff was friendly and throughout the resort the staff always say hello, etc. We did receive good advice prior to ensure we bring cash so we can tip throughout our stay and it does make a difference. We tipped room service, restaurants, buffets, concierge. Lastly, there was a lot of saving loungers at the pool and beach. People would save spots at 8am and then not come back for hours, which was incredibly frustrating. Overall, we loved Jamaica - the people and the food. We felt incredibly safe at the resort and outside the resort, but I would definitely re-consider staying at a Secrets especially after what we spent to only go Sun-Thurs. I will say it's an excellent location - close to the airport so you can truly get started on your vacation the day you arrive vs spending two hours getting to the hotel. We used TripGuy to book our trip, and they were incredibly helpful when we said we knew we wanted Jamaica and somewhere close to the airport. I do believe this is likely the nicest resort in Montego Bay, but it is not five stars - at least right now.

I was really looking forward to this holiday. Not a 5 star hotel. The service is not top tier, nor is the food. I personally would not return. This hotel did have me wondering, in what year did they receive their 5 star rating. Surely not in the last couple of years. The views are beautiful, and the grounds are well maintained. The beach is very clean, you have to get downstairs very early in the morning if you want a sun lounger, 6.30 am, no later. The drinks are a good selection, but the cocktails vary on taste, alcohol content, and temperature, depending on the bartender. The food was mainly tepid if not cold in temperature whilst your drinks would be warm. This location has a lot of potential, but the lack of service lets it down. Having to call for hand/towels, wash cloths 7 days out of 10, once the room had been tided became part of the holiday. If you are looking for comfortable, luxury and to relax, keep looking.

Food is very low quality, drinks have very little alcohol. Rooms are very nice and staff is wonderful. There are nowhere near enough beach chairs and you have to get up quite early to reserve one of the few they have by the water or pool. The highlight is the staff, but if you are hoping for decent food, look elsewhere.

Luxurious Stay at Wild Orchid Secrets, Jamaica We stayed at the Wild Orchid Secrets Hotel in Jamaica this past January, and it was an absolutely luxurious experience. We upgraded our room to stay in the exclusive block with a private beach area, and it was worth every penny. The room was stunning, featuring a hot tub on the balcony, a service hatch for room service, and even a pillow menu for added comfort. It felt like true indulgence. The concierge and service in the exclusive block were excellent, though the food options in this area were a bit limited. That said, we had access to the main restaurants, which offered a fantastic variety of cuisines and consistently delicious food. The entire complex was beautifully maintained, with lush grounds and a relaxing atmosphere. The evening entertainment was excellent and very professional, with a great variety of shows and performances that added to the vibrant atmosphere of the resort. One slight downside was the gratuity system. While we prepaid gratuities, we noticed that those tipping with cash at the bar often received priority service, which felt a bit off-putting. That aside, the service across the resort was generally top-notch. Overall, Wild Orchid Secrets provided an amazing experience. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-maintained resort with luxurious amenities, top-tier entertainment, and a wide range of dining options. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Facility definitely needs a remodel. Our room smelled like mold. Shower leaked water every time you used it. Got food poisoning on the first day.. Food quality was mediocre at best. Would recommend going to a different resort. Also recommend going to a location where you can go off resort that is safer

Donatello was the first waiter we met. His smile was contagious! He provided us with the best service. He was positive and professional at all times. We enjoyed meeting him ! He made us laugh , we just enjoyed his company. Also we enjoyed meeting Theresa. She was always happy and professional. Donna from the spa was also someone to recognize for her encouraging words. The staff at the Breathless , Montego Bay was definitely a reason to go back !

I am so glad I didn't pay attention to some of the negative reviews. This hotel is absolutely worth the money it is very clean, the staff is at your beck and call. The views are amazing the beach is clean and the restaurants are great with fresh food. You can not go wrong. If you ask the bartenders to make it strong, they will, which is recommended. I am out of the box thinker, and there were multiple times where I needed the staff to accommodate some requests like moving furniture setting up special areas they accommodated every time with a smile on their face. You will not regret it. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews you have seen. Those are probably people that have either been paid to talk negatively or have taste that far exceed anything a country could provide. I have been out of the country multiple times at different resorts, and all five stars rated. This one definitely stacks up.

Our butler is wonderful. Jaeveon has a great personality. On to the resort… some signs of wear and tear but overall good condition. They need to do a better job with restaurant options. We have been waiting at 1.5 hours to be seated at the Italian restaurant… that’s absurd….at an all inclusive it should not be this difficult to dine. We have never had this issue at other restaurants at other resorts. This really pulled the vibe down… edited to say we checked in at 6pm we got seat at 8pm…. It is 8:43 and we still don’t have entrees

Great location...only 25 mins from the airport. Love that it is adults only....the service was great! Rooms are cool...hot tub on every balcony from what I can see. Good amount of entertainment and fun even in the off season. And being able to access Secrets next door is great too! If you can afford it do the Exhale Club room with butler service. The butlers are amazing. Travis is the man! I made mention of something and he took care of it. I came for my birthday and they made me feel so special. Decorated door, complimentary champagne and cake. I will absolutely be back!

I stayed at the beautiful Secrets Resort in Montego Bay,(February 1st-12th) Jamaica, and overall, I had a great experience. The resort itself was stunning, and the staff truly made the trip memorable. Employees like Ashtone, Ashekee, Renado, Clive, Hidi, Regina, and Sharifa from UVC went above and beyond to make our stay welcoming and hospitable. Their kindness and dedication really stood out and added to the enjoyment of our trip. However, one disappointing aspect of our stay was the way the resort handled its own rules. We specifically chose Secrets because of policies like no smoking except in designated areas and no loud music in shared spaces like the pool area—rules that were important to us for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, it seemed that these rules were loosely enforced, and in some cases, easily bypassed by guests paying staff to look the other way. It was frustrating to see that, despite paying a premium for a resort that promoted these guidelines, they weren’t consistently upheld. Some staff members appeared unaware of the rules, while others turned a blind eye when incentivized. While we still had a great stay, it was disappointing that Secrets prioritized catering to those who disregarded the rules rather than ensuring a consistent experience for all guests. I hope the resort takes more responsibility in enforcing its policies moving forward to maintain the high standards it promotes.

** Beware place is loaded with cockroaches ** We arrived on March 28, 2025 for our 9 day stay. Upon arrival our room wasn’t ready. We decided to head to the buffet. We used the restroom before heading into the buffet. In the women’s restroom was the first encounter with the cockroach. I was told it was a water bug and the worker killed it. Told the front desk they wrote it down and stated they would make some calls. On our 8th night there we found a cockroach in our room. Caught it with a glass cup. I went to the front desk spoke to with Shauna-Kay she walked with me to our room. Her reaction oh. I said if there’s 1 there’s a whole family nesting in our room. Our clothes and luggage’s are probably loaded with cockroaches. Her advice was to stream our clothes. I told her we’re best to throw our clothes and luggage to the trash. She called maintain and prevention control. They killed the cockroach spray the area with cleaner. Shauna- Kay called and offered to give us one free night at a Hyatt Hotel. Are you serious thats all our clothes and luggage are worth. Asked for a supervisor he wanted to give us $25 off. I don’t think so. I asked for the number for corporate and I’m waiting for a call back.

We traveled as a group of 5 couples. The resort was very nice. The rooms are well maintained as are the facilities. We liked the location and the beach was very nice. Sometimes the service was exceptional but other times it was lacking. The food was as expected for an all inclusive hotel in the mid level Secrets brand.

For an all inclusive at this price I expected more. I was here for a wedding and it would be good for taking photos, but that's about it. The food was edible, but there was no flavor, drinks were watered down. The service was atrocious. The staff didn't know what was going on and if you asked for something it took either a long time or never came. Restaurants messed up the orders EVERY time we ate. The rooms were dirty and had wires sticking out of the walls. The beaches and water had a ton of sea urchins in them, so tread carefully on the beach/in the water so you don't step on them and have to go to the hospital. Getting here is very difficult, it's past the docks where the large cruise ships dock, so from the airport, with cruise ship traffic it takes 1-2 hours. There's local all inclusive's closer to the airport with better beaches and food.

The Enchanted Point

Everyone is there for the tips. The service is great but everyone is either trying to sell you a membership or as for a tip. It took 45 minutes just to check in because they want to wear you out so you will sign up for their expensive club membership. The resort is beautiful but it is in the middle of the ghetto so you are really just going to a nice hotel. EVERYTHING is expensive also. We needed a charging cable for our phone- 29.00. Most things aren't priced in the stores so they just enter what they want when you check out. I would never go back. Cancun is better but they try to get you into the membership thing also. The whole thing felt like a time-share seminar.

So relaxing. Room to beach to bar to dining all in just a few steps. Fantastic friendly staff. Food is top quality but could do better for those of us following a low gluten and dairy, high fiber and veg diet. A unique bespoke experience beautifully set in natural surroundings.

Pros: A charming little boutique hotel with an authentic Jamaican vibe. It’s located right on one of Montego Bay’s best public beaches. Cons: Everything that makes it a pro (if that’s not your thing): being on a public beach, and as a relatively small hotel, it offers limited amenities.

Rustic and elegant. This is not your typical big name beach resort. These lovely people at the Jamaica Inn cater to those looking for some real r&r, superb service, and an excellent culinary experience. We truly enjoyed our time, if only for two nights, it was well worth it and look forward to relaxing with them again.

As our taxi driver shared with us, you need to find a Jamaican resort that suits you. Round Hill suited my wife and I perfectly -- 110 acres of quiet beauty with multiple nooks to find rest and renewal. It's a unique property in the Caribbean. And the people! That's what makes all the difference. Sure, anyone can nitpick little things (yes, the rooms could be more soundproof; and there are young children), but the genuine hospitality of the staff coupled with the heritage-feeling of the resort create an absolutely perfect "home." Quiet setting. Beautiful walks. Delicious food. Smiling, devoted resort employees. This place is one of a kind. We met a couple from Denmark who have been coming for 30+ years. We would love to do the same thing.

The villa 11 crew rocks! The service was superior and exceeded our expectations. They were kind, respectful and courteous our entire stay. My husband and I came for my birthday and we will definitely be back. This place is a gym, do the walking tour, our guide was amazing. Do the glass boat tour, the guide was amazing. This is my new fav place and all the staff were amazing people.

First thing is the staff is very friendly, I stay for three days and I wanted to stay 😊 the ocean view is amazingly beautiful, don't get me started on the food, Located In Hopewell Montego Bay the resort has a private beach and a pool overlooking Montego Bay, the cruise ship terminal is right there too they also have a kids club and nanny service 😁 your vacation will be one to remember 😄 ❤️
