Fabulous location, good service, truly lovely place. I was advised this is a bed and breakfast. They offer complimentary continental breakfast including a mimosa! 😋 Rum punch was served as a welcome beverage! The bar was a little over priced but is to be expected on the tourist area. We are very well-traveled and can accept some issues regarding our accommodations. However, this stay was a horror show. On a return trip to this “resort” we were so disappointed that the hotel environment (the property itself) was is in significant disrepair and neglect. We spent the first 3 days of our stay in the reception area, on the phone or in discussions with management (when they could be found) trying to have the air conditioning repaired. The staff seemed despondent and their work environment oppressive. The hotel lost a good chef and now the food itself was tasteless and, at times inedible. The food service was extremely slow. The rooms were in disrepair and the pool was consistently dirty. After several discussions with the owner, Ms Chen and the elusive Mr. Robinson (who was consistently either “not in his office or was at lunch) no alternative room or compromise on the bill was offered. Based upon her words and behavior, Ms. Chen apparently thinks customer service is a thing of the past and was extremely curt and rude. We checked out early and found a nice hotel and escaped a miserable situation. Unless you enjoy disrepair and bad management, go anywhere else.

My 2nd solo stay was amazing. I was treated like a queen by all staff. The views and proximity to the beautiful 7 mile beach were literally steps away. Rohan, Pops, Mr R,, security, lovely breakfast severs, front desk personnel, groundskeeper, and housekeepers went above and beyond to make me feel safe and well cared for. Chris is the best chauffeur in Jamaica, in my humble opinion. I will be back again. Oh...and the omelets and banana pancakes are incredible.

So this was our third time staying here and all I can say is we will never come back. The place has certainly went down hill and the showers are so dirty you are better off using the ocean!! The worst part is we travelled with two other couples and we paid 1000.00 more than our other friends that had the same room as us. We tried talking to the manager and general manager Mr Robinson and Mr wright and all they did was blow us off until our last day and only wanted to offer us an upgrade for next year!! We have never been treated so bad by and hotel. I would not recommend this place at all and even the front desk people agreed with us and felt bad as the way they treated us!!

We came to Azul for a wedding. Azul's location is great, however the rooms and food is very unfortunate. The staff's hospitality is great, but resorts always disappoint. We asked the staff for fresh towels more than 3times and never received any new towels during our stay. We stayed in building 11. There were no beach/pool towels available as well. Our room did not have slippers or robes, some rooms did have them. The food was not the best. Very bland, very American. We want Caribbean food and more Ital choices. Attention to detail is not at Azul. Our friends who stayed in buildings 1-8, did not have towels in their rooms or pillows, or their room was dirty. The front desk did not relocate them until the next day.

The food was good and the service is amazing. We’ve had great people like Keke, Dwayne, and Tamara. There have been so many great people here at the resort. The only downside is that the buildings are very in need of repair and fixing up. Beach was awesome and I can’t say enough about how amazing the staff is here. They have accommodated everything we’ve asked for and are some of the nicest people here.

I booked an all inclusive spa villa (this was to come with unlimited spa treatments) for my wife and I for our 41st anniversary, this was over $6000 for six nights. Along with the spa it was to also include a private limo to and from the airport, private check in at the villa and a personal assistant contacted by phone for any issues. Trouble actually started before we ever went. I contacted the resort three times to be sure that I understood what was included in the treatments and every time they took me to the same web page and had me download a PDF of 4 pages with over 40 treatments, including hair cuts and styles, massages and all that good stuff. They told me I could book spa treatments up to one month in advance. Once that day came I sent an email listing all the treatments we would like and was promptly told that the treatments were no longer available and that there was a new spa menu that I had to download and that was only 1.5 pages and was less than 16 services. (Bait and switch). We decided to still go because we were only three weeks out. We were greeted at the airport and did have a private mini van ride to the resort which was nice. Once we arrived we were led to the check in desk, not the villa, and were treated like we were not that special, again $6,000 for 6 nights. I told the front desk person we had a massage in 20 minutes and she rushed us off and said for me to come back later with my credit card so she could finish checking us in. What happened to Villa check in? Villa was very nice. That evening I ordered our room service breakfast for 7:30am (the earliest time we could get it) because we had massages scheduled for 8:30am every day we were there. Breakfast showed up at 8:20 or after each of the first three days....No breakfast for three days....First morning after the massage we were given our phone for our personal assistant, I reached out over 40 times while I was there with no return message or call.....so that was a huge fail. After speaking with a resort rep at the repeat guest dinner (we have stayed at another couples resort in the past) she had asked what was the best meal so far, I said "It's not breakfast because you can't get it" and proceeded to tell her about not getting breakfast for three days and to my surprise we did manage to get it the rest of the time. I had spoken to three other people before and they all told me they would take care of it. No let's talk about the island....They brag about the private island they have there....DO NOT FALL FOR IT....the only way you can go is if you are naked. They do mention that they have a nude beach on their website but never mention that it is on the island and that you cant go unless you are naked...What kind of BS is this? Overall the food was good, Stay away from the steakhouse, you will not like it. Room was very nice, the spa (which is contracted separately) was also very good even though the resort dumbed down the treatments. The beach at the resort has been washed away and looks nothing like the photos. The resort is very small so if you are looking for a lot of things to do look at a different resort. We went off season and were told by the driver that took us back to the airport that during off season the main staff is gone, maybe that is why we had the difficulties we had. I think I will stay away from all the Couples Resorts after this visit.

Wow, what can I say about this place! It is an amazing resort with great food and an awesome staff. We were unfortunately there during Hurricane Beryl, which was a very challenging time. However, the staff went above and beyond to keep us calm, make us comfortable, and ensure our safety. The resort is very romantic with breathtaking views and a very relaxed calming atmosphere. If you are looking to party the night away with Djs, foam parties, etc. this is not the place to go, you will be disappointed. But if you are looking to reconnect with your significant other and enjoy a peaceful vacation, this is your place! Due to the Hurricane and subsequent clean up, we didn't get to do any of the water activities. The rooms were a bit dated, but clean and a very comfortable bed. I can confirm that other reviews about the food are accurate. Food was amazing! Service was the best I have had at any resort. We will definitely be back!

This was the perfect getaway for me and my fiancé! If you like a more intimate vacation, where the staff feel like family and just want to relax on the beach or even near the pool, with all inclusive food, drinks and even some of the activities, this is the place for you! They greet you saying “Welcome home!” and give you a glass of champagne! We went for our 7 year anniversary and I can’t rave enough about this place. The whole staff was so welcoming, loving and hospitable. Every one of them made sure we had a wonderful stay. Including the manager of the resort! The food at this resort was absolutely incredible, we loved everything we ate. The coffee bar was perfect as well for morning and mid-day pick me ups. The drinks were also great as well, the bartenders are wonderful! They have plenty to do at the resort, but we also loved the excursions we got to book! Everything was seamless at this resort, the staff there is so helpful! To booking our excursions, reservations to the restaurants on the resort, spa appointments and private dinner on the beach. Even when we did have an issue, it was resolved so quickly! The night we booked our private dinner, it was raining and they called us immediately, but our phone was being funky, so we went down to the desk and we didn’t know, but we passed them and they were heading to our room to talk to us about the private dinner. We talked to them on our way back and they were so kind and wanted to make sure we got everything figured out! The staff here will take care of you, this resort was amazing and we will be back! Probably our only feedback is a bigger in suite dining menu, but we truly loved this resort so much! We miss our family and home already! I do have to note they are also environmentally friendly and they also support the ISSA Trust Foundation!

The staff are amazing! They make us feel like family. Couples Tower Isle has become our home away from home. The spa is the best and I highly recommend getting the Oasis Villa- where you get unlimited spa treatments. As well as your own private pool. We have stayed here a couple times and the staff and amenities are exemplary. You will feel like royalty and actually feel refreshed and relaxed during your stay. We are already booking our next stay and we just got back last week!

This was the first time here, second for the girlfriend. This is an absolutely awesome place. The staff was by far the best. Within a day or two, they knew you by name and where you were from. This is different from large chain resorts. The beach was only a short walk away, and even there, they had a nice full bar and a place for you to get food, so you didn't need to walk back to the resort itself. I would recommend the spa services. We had the outside couples massage. It's absolutely amazing. It was a good week here, and I will be looking forward to the same time again next year.

Definitely the best all inclusive we've been to. The staff remember you, they provide that extra service that makes a trip enjoyable, everyone has a great attitude. The resort is quiet, and is beautiful, it feels like you are in a jungle. Tables are set up beyond for a buffet. The food is just amazing, the buffet doesn't have a ton of selection because it's a smaller place, but what is there is delicious. They could do better to label for allergies. The beach is across the street, private, not a far walk at all, and is beautiful. The water is clear and calm. There and plenty of spots with open and covered options. Night time entertainment is kind of lacking, though doesn't feel needed to be honest.

My husband and I were there for 5 nights. To us, our opinion of the room was just ok. Nothing special. But...you go on vacation to be out and taken care of. That part was excellent! Everyone was friendly and made you feel welcomed. Our best part of the vacation was our massages and pedicures. Top notch! The ladies were very welcoming, funny, and loving. We got 2 massages within 5 days. That says a lot! If you go there, make sure to see Brenda and Potrina!

Hands down one of the most romantic places we’ve ever been. First time to Jamaica and wow does this Country know how to host a couple for their 20th Anniversary. I won’t elaborate on all the great ways they continuously showered us with loving surprises - no spoil alerts - but trust me when I say they value your milestones and you feel loved by the resort. Rooms are so cozy, little tree houses. They have a private beach (Short 2 min walk across the road), bar and kitchen at the beach that is all included. Tasteful entertainment, geared towards romance. Food is absolutely amazing, didn’t have a bad bite in all the meals they served us. Drinks were great as well. The concierge Kadian was extra special as well all their staff. We will return for sure! Highly recommend Sunset at the Palms!

We are typically thrilled with Couples but this particular stay was a huge letdown. The location is beautiful and most of the staff is phenomenal. We weren’t made aware that one of the restaurants would be closed for the entirety of our stay until we checked in. The other available restaurants both required reservations, and one required a dress code. Despite being at less than 50% capacity reservations were extremely limited. The smoothie bar was consistently out of menu items. Casanova was consistently out of menu items and we were often not made aware until well after we had ordered. Room service was the only thing available most of the time so we got pretty sick of the same food each day. We asked on 3 separate occasions to speak to someone about this. On our last evening, after we explained to the front desk we would just discuss our concerns at check out, we finally received a call back from a manager. The only issue was we specifically requested no call back that night as we had an early flight and were already asleep. About a half hour after the call, housekeeping knocked on our door to advise us they had received a call about bugs in the rooms. While there were bugs in the room (tons of ants in the bathroom), we didn’t complain about this as we understood we were in a beach location. It was just bizarre that housekeeping didn’t confirm the correct room that called prior to coming. If we do decide to visit Couples again, it definitely will not be this location. Maybe if someone had reached out the first day we voiced concerns we would have a different opinion. It was really disappointing.

The room was very spacious, especially the bathroom. I loved the bathroom😍 However, I have it 4 stars as the bathroom fixtures specifically the shower 🚿 needs to updated. The location is easy to find however the beaches are not the true perception of Jamaican beaches. The service could be better for some not all staff members.

Couples Sans Souci in Jamaica is a paradise on earth for honeymooners! This five-star resort is a hidden gem nestled between the lushious greenery of the jungle-like mountains and the deep blue and turquoise ocean giving you the best of both worlds! The old world charm combined with modern amenities creates a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere throughout the resort that is unmatched. The mineral grotto and spring pool were amazing, and I made sure to spend plenty of time soaking in their rejuvenating and healing waters. The Balloon Bar was a classy touch up near the lobby and the perfect spot for evening entertainment, if you manage to stay awake that long! The resort offers a variety of exciting activities including scuba diving, snorkeling, golf, tennis, glass bottom boat tours, kayaking and wind surging making sure there's never a dull moment during your stay.

my stay wasn’t very pleasant. From the time of check in and the full day of my stay. We had to wait hours to check in and after talking/speaking with a woman named Amanda she had got us a room very quickly almost around 4. We were tired and hot from our flight and had to wait almost 6 hours to even get a room! I requested birthday room accommodations prior to being there, it wasn’t there they brung it after we stated it wasn’t there to the operator. When being in the room it wasn’t properly set up or cleaned, going to the bar the frozen drinks weren’t up to par and tasted very watered down. When by the pool on this pass Saturday the pool guy stated they all were short staffed, what does that have to do with my stay here when I’m paying hard earn money to be here to celebrate my friends birthday, everything we did that was fun or good was off the property. Our room was only made up & “cleaned” one time. The food wasn’t good, not even at the world cafe. Very disappointed in the food. Room service was a hit or miss and when the house keeping came she didn’t replace the towels accordingly and the room wasn’t properly dusted. I would really like a portion of my money back because what this place advertises on it wasn’t delivered. They also had a strike on the property and it doesn’t seem like things went back to normal after that. You can’t satisfy everyone but this experience at this property was terrible and I will never be back.

Best resort I've ever stayed at. The location is right on the beach. The staff is so nice and accommodating. I didn't want to leave. Make sure you ask for Mr Love if you need a lift on the golf cart. The food was delicious and the drinks were never ending. Something to do each day at the pool. 10/10 recommend you book this place.

Since the day of our arrival we have experienced issues. The first issue was the mold/mildew smell in the room. Upon searching throughout the room ourselves we noticed it was mold on the bed spread that we had to sleep on. The room also smelled like cleaning supplies mixed with a dirty mop smell. We also paid for ocean view and did not get that at all our view was the back of the restaurant. Day 1 we went to the check in desk and explained the issues and was told they were unable to accommodate us with another room at that time and we needed to wait until the next day. Day 2 - we had no contact from no one at the hotel in regards to a room change. We went about our normal vacation day and waited to still be contacted. The remainder of the vacation we waited for someone to still contact us that never happened the supervisor Shavoy Williams continued to avoid us at all cost by hiding in the back and not speaking with us at no cost we saw her she would disappear. She placed a letter under our door after seeing us enter the hotel instead of speaking with us and avoiding the issues she placed the attached letter under the door and when I called was still unable to speak with her up until check out. This is a tremendous issue we slept with mold our entire stay and the smell of sewage! They basically gave me a slap in the face and took $100 off a bottle that was ordered and charged to our room but I still paid a large amount for my stay sleeping in mold the whole entire stay. I am a traveler and this is the worst experience I have ever had thus far i see why the workers complained the entire time and just came back from strike the day prior to our arrival and was planning to do one again the workers even complained about the lack of services they were providing the customers because they are not being paid they lacked customer service and they didn’t acknowledge the fact nothing was done about it. I wouldn’t recommend staying here the amount of money we paid you can vacation somewhere else better for lower and not sleep in mold! So unacceptable!!!

The restaurants were clean and most of our servers were nice and friendly. The food at the Italian restaurant was so delicious that I asked for seconds to share with my sister.

We spent 3 nights/ 4 days at this resort. From the moment you get in property you are treated very well. Welcomed with champagne and a cold towel. We arrived before check in time so our room was not ready, but we still had access to all amenities. We changed right away and headed to the pool. The room we had at first had a slight issue that was out of the resorts control, but they were quick to move us to an even better room! Very pleased that they were quick to help. I wouldn’t recommend any drink with tequila as it did not taste like tequila at all, but if you stick to rum based drinks you will be okay. Overall had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a nice relaxing getaway.

We Celebrated our 25th anniversary Sept 21-28 2024 From the time we arrived, everything was perfect . We were greeted with a cool towel, and champagne upon arrival. Our room was perfect 2106 garden view I wouldn’t personally spend extra money on an ocean front, the resort is small , there probably isn’t a bad room in the resort . We loved the fire show , the beach is gorgeous, and the food was delicious!!!! We will definitely return !! Thank you Couples Negril !!!!

The staff at Couples Negril went above and beyond expectations. The servers at the buffet restaurant were always pleasant and attentive. Special mention must be made of Mr. Dean Reid, constantly checking to ensure the guests were okay The waterports team were very accommodating and encouraging for me to try the many activities they had to offer. The main restaurant was closed on certain days which only left limited options. Me and my partner did not like the Asia restaurant and I don't like seafood food so there was some nights we went hungry and was counting down the clock for when the grill re opened at 10:30pm The breakfast was the same near enough every day got very fed up There is not very culture food and even when we was given one day of it the meat on the mutton was so fatty The staff was very miserable at one point I got fed of waiting for the staff to take my drink order by the pool I just went to the bar myself

If you are in a mood for party then this is the place for you. This is a small resort so definitely feels like home. In couple of days staff starts recognizing you and you get the feeling of home. Internet connection was really good. Room service is on point. I am a vegetarian and I always had food on my plate. Sister properties secret wild orchid and secret James are good too and a lot of activities take place there.

I loved every minute of my trip here. It was my first time in Jamaica and definitely my favorite trip I’ve ever been on. I love how the resort gave you access to literally TWO OTHER RESORTS as well and their all amenities for NO EXTRA COST which was awesome and it allowed you to get many different experiences and try different foods and drinks. The resort is so inclusive too which is awesome because you may see one person doing one job in the morning and then later that night they are a superstar fashion model or painter and the resort allows it’s employees to be free to dream and pursue their passion which I’ve never seen before! I honestly recommend this resort, to anyone who has been looking to book. Please let some of the reviews make you change your mind. I had great service, view in my suite and a great time . I want to give a major shoutout to my wonderful butler Shane for being so sweet & very polite ; and keeping me updated every morning on what activities that will be held at the resort. He is so pure, I wish him nothing but the best. I want to thank the entertainer Maxwell for giving nothing but great music & vibes keeping me entertained my whole trip. Also, last but not lease my Favorite people of them all the bartenders Romane who was at the swim up pool down stairs and Michael was a bartender at Barebuns. They are very respectful and full of energy and excitement. I didn’t miss a day at there bar. They kept my day going with all of those wonderful drinks they were making. Those gentleman deserve everything. I had so much fun. One Love 🫶🏽 I will be back.

Don't get a Swim up room if you stay here. It smelled like mildew, and the touch-up work was horrendous. We had the same problem after the room change. We woke up to a puddle of water behind our nightstand leaking from the shower. We were told the Oceanview rooms or the rooms upstairs were better by other guests. Make sure you wear mosquito repellent, especially while you sleep and take something disposable to sleep on. The views at Attitude were breathtaking, not so much the food. Other than that, the food was average for a resort. Fishnets was the best option for food. To get hot water in the shower, push the button under the shower handle. Don't even bother bringing cleaning supplies for the shower. Whatever is going on with the glass, it's inside the glass. On another note, Secrets appeared to be a better option as far as having rooms right on the beach. We loved the karokee at the Piano Bar. Be careful ordering alcohol on the beach. I felt weird after drinking it. Buy your souvenirs at the airport. Prices at the resort gift shop was overpriced. If you want more of a party experience, book between Thursday-Saturday. We hope your experience at Breathless is better than ours.

These lovely people at the Jamaica Inn cater to those looking for some real r&r, superb service, and an excellent culinary experience. We truly enjoyed our time, if only for two nights, it was well worth it and look forward to relaxing with them again.

Jamaica inn was amazing. The pictures that you see don't do it justice. I felt truly at home. The entire staff was extremely friendly. From the entrance security to check-in staff wait staff, beach crew, bartender(Williams). I stayed 3-6 nights for a wedding in which the resort was fully booked by the wedding staff so I got to see all the different rooms. The cottage was the most beautiful, there was a walkway to the ocean, a second balcony in the bedroom on the second floor. Most of the water activities were included. They had different daily complementary activities; rum tasting, yoga, rose and croquet etc. The room service breakfast was a whole plate of fruits, a basket of toasts and pastries. With juice and a pot of tea. The airport transportation was a full representation from beginning to end as we were provided refreshments when driven to the airport. I highly recommend

I might amend this review later on, but please read till the end: UPDATE: Unfortunately, I have to amend this review to the worse. After all the drama outlined below they tried to blame booking. Another 5 emails later the Director of Marketing & Sales sent me an email which I would love to copy and paste here, but it is too long. It is an arrogant letter praising the hotel fully unaware of their own incapabilities. Maybe they hand out job titles for free in Jamaica. In the meantime I'm now booked in with Carlisle Bay in Antigua which is twice the price and - what a surprise - they have no problem at all taking the money of the very same credit card. Nothing else to add...1 star on here is even too much for the experience I had. I booked this hotel via booking.com at the end of Sep, which normally is the most straight-forward process in the entire world, and since then I have experienced a service nightmare: - 20 emails with the hotel - 5 calls with the hotel - 5 calls with my bank and yet no confirmed booking, because they are not able to process my payment. I have given them a Visa and a Mastercard. The feedback of my bank is the same - they try to enter the wrong CVC or try to take 36k off my card. Please keep in mind I'm using both cards, just travelled in France with this card, booking is deducting money for hotels in South Africa, etc. Yet the 3 ladies at the reservations team are rude and reply back that I'm having issues. This attitude is an absolute no-go for a 5*hotel. You find a solution, this is the only job you have. After all the above they finally send me a pdf with 6 different bank accounts in 6 different currencies. Of course, I'd like to pay in Euros to avoid bank fees. I try to pay in Euros and confirm the correct amount with them where the only answer I get is: There are fluctuations. Really??? If the GM of the hotel sees this: your reservations team has caused me severe stress over the last 5 weeks, ruins a mother/daughter holiday, ruins my winter vacation over my birthday, has stolen valuable time of my life and doesn't even think of a word of apology or offered something to even out the bad experience. I asked for breakfast to be added to show some 5*service, but now they don't even bother to reply anymore. I still want to stay at this hotel and I still have a "confirmed" booking on booking com but unfortunately, I can't book flights because I might end up without a roof over my head. The flights got more expensive now, the car got more expensive, etc The list goes on. Who is compensating me for this? The easiest thing in the world - send a payment link or hire someone who is able to take payments or if you send a bank account list include the amounts for each currency you expect to be paid. Done. 5 minutes later it is sorted.

This being my 4th visit to the Jamaica Inn I can unfortunately say something has changed. The flawless service and attention to detail I've told many about is not what it once was. The location is beautiful, the rooms are simple and comfortable as always, but staying here doesn't feel like "home" as it once did. Instead, I'm just another guest on property and the service is in line with any other hotel, good but not exceptional as it once was.

We stayed her for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean, the shower had hot water, the a/c was cold, the sheets were clean. Housekeeping came daily and cleaned the room and never messed with our personal items. Our room faced the ocean and we were steps from the beach. The drinks were great, the food was wonderful - just be aware Jamaicans don't eat a lot of beef, therefore chicken is your better your better option when it comes to the best preparation on the island. We felt safe walking up and down the beach, and walking all over the resort.

What can you say but this is a fantastic all inclusive resort. This was our 3rd trip to this resort and will continue to go back. We enjoyed every minute of walking the beautiful beach with crystal clear water and white sands. Negril is astonishing. The dinners and alcohol were on point and you absolutely do not want to go home. Thank you couple's and we will see you again.

Couples Swept Away was our first experience with the Couples brand, and unfortunately I can't recommend it for people who have stayed at and enjoyed Secret or Excellence all-inclusive resorts. It's a great entry level all-inclusive resort, but not somewhere I would stay again, unless certain things are improved - specifically food and service. Also important to call out that the resort does seem to cater a little more to an older demographic (50+) based on the type of music played, etc. That said, we are in our late 30s/early 40s and had a great time with the people we met - everyone was social and interested in having a good time. Highlights: - Beach: Super well-maintained with an amazing stretch of beach, with very few vendors (all were extremely kind and polite). Note: it was hard to find chairs in the shade after 11am. - Management: We switched from Couples Negril to Swept Away and management was very accommodating throughout the process, organized transportation for us and allowed us to see the different room options. Lowlights: - Service: There were a few people there that made our stay very enjoyable, but the vast majority of staff didn't seem to want to be there and seemed inconvenienced when we asked to sit at a certain table (that was open) or asked for a special cocktail. We also didn't get our mini bar refreshed until our last night despite leaving our requests out a couple of days prior. - Food + drinks (see details) - Garden room noise (see details)

Just went for the first time last week. The weather was amazing! The beach was incredible. The fact CSA provided rafts is an excellent feature! Our room was clean and seemed updated but this is our first trip so I have no comparison. The only drawback in our opinion was the bed was like a pit. Once you got in it was hard to get out so I think it was fairly worn. I would also indicate the shower did not get hot. We had a great view and we're on second floor so no cats on our patio. Each building features an ice bin which is refilled daily and a bottle filler which was amazing. Staff was incredibly nice. There are so many serving you at various restaurants they should give out cards to help us remember. The food wasn't great. Scotch bonnet served lunch and thr Patties were awesome. But jerk chicken was super dry. The tropical salad bar was not what I would call a salad bar. Probably the biggest challenge is no 24 hour room service. If the weather ianr great or if you just want a night in you don't have an option but to go out. One of our party didn't feel well and we had a heck of a time trying to get food for her. Also some of us are not quite as adventurous with food so we lacked some options. The water sports and excursions which are included are unmatched at all inclusives I have been to before. Highly recommend the catamaranand to take advantage of these events. Cats are very prevalent...a lot of cats. My husband is allergic so we were dodging cats in restaurants and walking around. The restaurants need some air conditioning or more powerful fans! Overall a solid 4.5. The beach was just amazing.

Me and my wife recently stayed here for our honeymoon. I did a lot of research before we came and I found some people had complaints so I was worried slightly. Upon arrival all those worries were gone. The resort is very nice and very well kept. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is very clean. The customer service is phenomenal and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. I had several questions as it was our first time out of the country and the staff answered all questions I had. The food is amazing at all the restaurants and the drinks are very well made. We had clean sheets and towels every morning and breakfast delivered to our room as well. There is plenty to do on the resort alone. I do suggest to be weary of the weather we went during rainy season but it did not stop use from having fun and doing everything we wanted! I would also recommend bringing cash as well, there is locals that walk the beach to sell things and it is how they make a living. BE SURE TO TIP JOSHUA IF YOU SEE HIM ON THE BEACH!!! He is very nice and sings beautifully if he sees you on the beach! I also had no issues with sleep. This is the best sleep I’ve had in awhile as I have insomnia and I had no issues on my stay. Some say the resort is dated but I think it is beautiful and gives the resort a true Caribbean feel to it. I have had no issues and I look to come back! There is a wall of fame in the lobby and one couple has been to this resort 60 times so you know the resort does an exceptional job! Also I would be mindful of the bad reviews on here, completely opposite time from everyone I talked to while at the resort. The front desk gives you all the information you need you just have to read it!

We had high hopes for our stay here, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to its advertised image. The overall experience was disappointing for several reasons. First, the hotel itself looks tired and dated, with dirty areas in our room that seemed like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. To add to our frustration, room service took over two hours to arrive—completely unacceptable for what is supposed to be a premium establishment. The pool area was another letdown. Half the sunbeds require an additional fee to use, a detail that was never disclosed on the website or by our travel agent. What’s worse, the pools felt more like an 18-30 holiday destination with extremely loud music and guests drinking excessively. This was a far cry from the romantic, tranquil atmosphere depicted in the hotel’s promotional photos. Dining was another nightmare. The food was mediocre at best, and unless you ate as early as 6 PM or as late as 9 PM, you faced over an hour-long queue to get a table. There simply aren’t enough restaurants to accommodate the number of guests staying at the hotel. To make matters worse, we found out that guests with butler service could book restaurant tables in advance, but we weren’t informed of this option when booking, leaving us at a distinct disadvantage. A serious safety issue in our room added to the list of problems—our balcony door didn’t lock, leaving us feeling uneasy throughout our stay. As if all this wasn’t bad enough, we were unlucky to be there during a staff strike on November 12. This caused a cascade of issues: restaurants and bars were closed, fresh towels weren’t available, our room wasn’t cleaned, and there was no water to drink anywhere. Only one buffet was open for 350 guests, leading to massive queues and subpar food quality. Overall, we left feeling incredibly disappointed. The hotel fails to deliver on the luxury, romance, and relaxation it promises online. We wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting a premium experience or a romantic getaway.

We stay at Secrets of St James in September 2024. Loved it, would go back. It was not super busy which is what I liked the most. We had the upgraded service and I don't have a negative thing to say about the employees. We did expect more Jamaican style food but was not disappointed in the restaurant. We went shopping out of the resort. Robert Mcbean was our amazing driver. Drove us around, went to Peppa's. Never once felt in danger being off the resort. The only downfall. Our room was infested with roaches. The front desk moved us rooms and for the 5 days, there was a cleaning crew in the old room 3 times a day, so positive is they were taking care of the problem. I wish I could remember all the employees names they seriously were amazing. Smiles every day. I have never been to an app inclusive so I didn't know what to expect.

DISCOUNTS Since Hyatt took over, this property no longer offers any travel agent rates. Even the GM confirmed it’s all managed through the Hyatt TA site, which shows no rates available. ROOMS The rooms are outdated. I booked a Preferred Club Ocean King, but the minibar wasn’t fully stocked, snacks were missing, and the fridge wasn’t working. I found hair on the floor, and both Jacuzzi tubs had stains, making them unusable. FOOD One of my main reasons for visiting Jamaica was for great jerk chicken, but the only Jamaican restaurant didn’t even have it on the menu. The oxtails were mostly fat, and appetizers like the spring roll were disappointingly small. Room service was inconsistent, though the rum toast and coffee stood out as breakfast highlights. The jerk chicken at the lunchtime hut was the best food on the property. Pizza and chicken curry patties were just okay. COUPLE VIBES ONLY Though listed as adults-only, the resort heavily caters to couples. Solo travelers, like myself, may feel out of place, especially since staff prioritizes couples for reservations and service. I noticed couples receiving perks like free bottles, while I was largely overlooked. The daily activities, like “couples trivia,” reinforced the focus on couples. If you’re traveling solo, be prepared to feel excluded. PREFERRED CLUB The Preferred Club upgrade isn’t worth it. There’s no enforcement on who can access the amenities. I noticed guests who hadn’t paid for the upgrade using the Preferred Club pool and food services without any staff intervention. The $200 in coupons can only be used in small increments and aren’t redeemable all at once. The advertised “special experiences” are also exclusively for couples, which was disappointing. FINAL THOUGHTS I chose this hotel because of its advertised 4-5 star rating. I’m fine paying for luxury, but this wasn’t it. Compared to other high-end properties like the Ritz-Carlton in Singapore, this fell short. Secrets St. James is not worth $500 a night – $300 would be more appropriate.

Beautiful resort. 4 stars for the room because while it was comfortable and adequately roomy, they could use a bit of refurbishing. That being said, if you plan to spend a lot of time in the room, maybe Jamaica isn't the best choice for a trip. There was so much to do on the resort and the views were amazing. We will definitely be back.
