As I spend my last night here, I must say I did not know what to expect after reading a review left from someone. I was about to switch my hotel but I am happy I did not. This place was more pleasant than I expected. The check in was very quick and super friendly. The rooms were very clean and ready. While is was not thrilled with the food option it was because I have a seafood allergy and as we all know barbados is big on fish. There was so many options close by it was not a big deal for me. Please do not go by the negative review of this place, it is very nice clean and friendly.

This hotel is a great stay. A bit of an chill vibe with stunning beachfront views. The staff are mostly fantastic. When I was there with my family, Stacey , Lynette, Kato , are the reason I'll be back 👍👍👍 don't forget to drop into the shop and say Hi to Deb or Lila they are also such nice, genuine people and great with my kids. In the shop they can set you up with all sorts of fun excursions. We went on the submarine and it was a core memory for our family Thank you !!!! 🙏

We booked a superior Apartment for our honeymoon thinking they'll be plenty to do and see but it also gave us the option of having our own space if we wanted it. In reflection we should have booked a room with a beach view (something that wasn't mentioned to us on booking). The room was at the front of the block overlooking the car park and entrance. We got no sun on the balcony as it was all shaded and sun goes around the other side of the block. There is a fast road running past this place which is not quiet at all. Taxi/mini buses toot when passing eachother or when they see people they think needs a lift. The amount of cars passing is incredible.
Another point to add is that the walls seem fairly thin and you seem to be able to hear a lot, front and back all the time. The maids start with their noise around 8.30am and don't seem to do quiet cleaning.
There is not much in walking distance, the fish market was good and food has been excellent and is in walking distance. Another plus is there is a supermarket nearby too so if you wanted to self-cater then that easy to do. The beaches are fabulous but where the hotel is situated (which is on the rocks a little) the tide does come right in so from about 10.30am there is not really a beach unless you walk further along the bay. (Of course this will change throughout the year and tides)
All in all this feels quite a budget type of place, which for the money we paid as it was our honeymoon, we were not expecting it to be like this, and it's certainly not a peaceful paradise here.
I would definitely look around and perhaps move to a different part of the island where there are more coffee shops etc on the edge of the beach and more things in walking distance around if this exists.

We stayed here back in November (2024) we were booked for 2 weeks but after 4 days we got a call from home as my Mum had suffered a massive heart attack. Kristal on the front desk was compassionate and kind at what was an extremely upsetting time.
Prior to the bad news we were really enjoying our stay, our studio room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The pools were both lovely and we always managed to find a comfortable spot by the swimming pool. We enjoyed the daytime menu at the Reef restaurant, the food was tasty and reasonably priced for a hotel (the cocktails were great). We found the bar staff to be a little reserved at first but as we got to know them they were much more friendly. We liked the quieter location but understand it wouldn't suit those who want to be in the heart of the nightlife. We walked to Oitstins a couple of times along the beautiful beach and stopped at the Surfers cafe for breakfast. We used the reggae zr buses to travel further afield and taxis to and from the airport. Would we stay again, definitely.

This is a great location if you like the beach and sunbathing. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. We were given a heads-up that petty theft is a nuisance there. However, they have a security guard watching their beach and lounging area. We didn't have any issues.
The on site restaurant isn't the best, but because of the location, it is very convenient since you can enjoy the view of the ocean while dining. The service is not great but the food was good. We were told we couldn't use the happy hour price since it was 10 minutes too early sitting down. A very small fountain pop, full of ice was expensive and they wouldn't allow a free refill even though it was only about 6 oz.

First time staying at Time out .lovely friendly staff rooms nice with a good modern shower .Rooms large and kept clean . Free safe in room with key only ! The only thing I’d change is a better place to plug in the kettle !!! Had to put on floor to use ! Otherwise very happy with everything and hope to return next year !

My company booked me into the Time Out Hotel for 5 nights with full pension. Now on day four, I am very happy with the hotel and the restaurant. Very handy to Dover Beach and a dozen local businesses (distractions!)
The hotel is not a fancy or exclusive property, but it is extremely well staffed. Rooms are clean, & spacious though basic. I had a good mattress and a table and (1) interior chair. Bathroom has a fixed low step shower. Small balcony with 2 more chairs but no little table for books or drinks.
Room and safe seem totally secure. Overall the vibe is very nice. Pool is lovely with lots of sun chairs. While I was here, the beach had a high surf limiting swimming in the sea.
Very limited entertainment on the TV.
The Rhum Stop restaurant serves a good breakfast. My dinners covered the menu, all good to very good.
Overall, on an island with a dozen of the Caribbean’s most exclusive resort hotels, I would say this 3-star Time Out hotel delivers.
Folks needing a budget holiday will be welcomed here.

Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. This hotel is amazing, for the price you get a beautiful clean and cool room, restaurant downstairs where the food is just unreal not to mention they can bring the drinks to you if you are sat by the pool. Awesome find and we would recommend it 10 times out of 10.

Bad service - the front desk is soooo rude. They literally do not care about you and do not want you to stay here. Go ANYWHERE else. It might seem like it's a good deal but there are so many other places at the same price point on that island.

Great location in the Gap. Good sized rooms, basic but very clean, have everything you need in rooms, staff are helpful and friendly. Nice pool area. This our 2nd visit. In the last 4 Bajan holidays. Restaurant is okay, revamped nicely, preferred the sports bar that was owned by the hotel a few years back. But that's just personal choice. Would come back again. Great value for money

What an incredible place! Wonderful location on the most beautiful beach. We loved swimming with the turtles daily. The rooms were great and the views just incredible. Great staff and great value. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else on island now that we’ve experienced the pink perfection of Southern Palms.

We just finished a 5 night stay at this resort and we were so happy we came across this place. Right on the beachfront on Dover Beach, it has amazing views and pleasant service. Our room had a porch that led right to the beach, which made it very convenient as we were just steps away. Everyone was helpful and made us feel welcome. Really only two complaints, one of which is not the fault of the resort itself. Firstly, we had dinner at the resort our first night and it took two hours for our entrees to come out. It appeared they were short-staffed that night, but that wasn’t made clear to us when the front desk recommended we stay for dinner instead of telling us about some other local spots.
Secondly, and this is the one that wasn’t the resort’s fault, is the lack of umbrellas for shade on the beach. The resort itself does not have any umbrellas, but anytime we tried to ask where we could get one (apparently there is a vendor on the beach), it felt like we were bounced around. Not the resort’s fault, but frustrating nonetheless.
Overall, those two issues did not take away from our stay and I still gladly would give it 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. We truly fell in love with the place and with Barbados and can’t wait to come back. Thank you to everyone at Southern Palms!

Rooms are spacious cleaned daily with fresh towels.
Beach towels changed everyday. Dave the beach towel guy was so friendly. Jennie on reception was amazing sorting our transfers and room extension. All cleaning staff bar staff reception and handy men were super friendly. There are several cats that are well looked after and fed by the hotel. They are so cute. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting to visit. Great location on the Gap.

For Brit on holiday the hotel was more than acceptable. Big room, good location. Pool was cold. Our toddler loves swimming but refused this cold pool, don’t blame her. General value is poor. For what we paid and what you get I just don’t see how Barbados will last. Perhaps the target market is Americans with more cash, but this hotel for 6 days was £2000. Not great value for me. Great holiday, but won’t go back to Barbados when the world has so much more to offer for less. Generally very friendly staff! Manager at the beach restaurant treats you like a second class citizen if you don’t have food included in your package, very rude.

We can honestly not fault this hotel at all.
Me and my husband stayed here for a week for our 10year wedding Anniversary to be greeted with a welcome drink rum punch, to then be taken straight to our room that went straight to the pool, with a bottle of champagne and card on our bed. The staff I can not praise them all enough they are a credit to the hotel so attentive throughout the whole holiday, always so happy and ready to help you enjoy the beautiful island.
All inclusive Food and drink was really good the hotel itself is beautiful they are constantly cleaning it’s spotless.
The evening entertainment we enjoyed a lot, and the beach watching the sunset in the evenings was something else stunning.
Thank you for having us we will be back in the near future

The resort was nice - some parts of the room were a tad outdated but nothing drastic. The bed was HUGE and very comfortable. The room had a good AC which was very helpful during humid times of the day. The views are gorgeous and the beach was nice and walkable. The staff was pretty friendly, but occasionally they lacked situational awareness and seemed stressed during high traffic periods for meal times. For the most part, everyone was lovely and always willing to help whether it be with my luggage or calling me a taxi. A few major cons about my visit: 1) if you miss lunch due to excursions scheduled in the mornings, you’re gonna be STARVING until dinner. After lunch, they only have a small tea hour from 4-5 until the staff start preparing for dinner around 6/6:30. The tea hour is just tea, coffee, and tiny food that you would feed children. They did not have any bar snacks or small bites around the clock for those who missed meal times. Meal times are very restricted so plan accordingly. The breakfast was suitable and good quality. The buffet during dinner time is awful - the food is tasteless and very lacking. For the all inclusive price, the buffet meal options were very underwhelming. The drinks are very good though. I would recommend booking all of your dinner reservations for rachel’s or the asian kitchen when you arrive because they are both very yummy for dinner but can get booked up quickly. 2) There are no elevators, and the resort has A LOT of stairs so get ready to climb. If you have mobility issues, stay somewhere else. 3) The pool closes very early around 6:30pm which is really wild to me. For the price I paid, I would have loved to catch a night swim. 4) They are really stingy with washcloths. You will have to request them daily because when they clean the room they only leave body and face towels. No wash clothes. They have black writing on them so I assume it because they may turn up missing a lot. 5) They only give you two bottles of water in the room when you arrive, after that you’re on your own. Once the bar closes, there isn’t any way to get fresh water until everything opens up again. I called the front desk for water and they claimed no one was available to bring any. Again for the price I paid, bottles of water seem very basic.
Other than that, everything else was peaceful. I loved how private and spacious the balcony was. I got some in reading and relaxation time which was nice. My experience was okay overall, but I would probably stay somewhere else next time.

We stayed over Christmas, and it was a horrible experience. Really ruined the day.
Rooms are fine, pools are nice, the beach is great.
Some of the staff were nice but a lot were overtly rude or hostile.
The food was consistently awful, especially the veggie options.
Christmas Day seemed to take them entirely by surprise; at lunch they ran out of tables, food, glasses. It was a horrible experience. Dinner was also pretty bad.
I recommend the George Washington House nearby if you want nice food and friendly service. Once other places opened up we just stopped eating at the hotel, even though we'd paid in advance.

We have now stayed at Savannah Beach 9 times and it gets better with each visit
The location is superb if you want to explore the island, just jump on a bus outside to go anywhere and great value at $3.5 per ride.
The hotel is very well kept and always clean and tidy and the welcome by reception staff after a long journey is 1st class.
There are a few members off staff that I have to mention. MR Messiah, Wren, Beverly,Jalisco,Aquila, Richard, Elissa,Omar,Nadia,Analis, Ray Miller, Rhosheda,Tiffany,Sherrfia
Jamaica,Shem, Samantha and all the staff that I have forgotten who do a great job
The 3 restaurants all serve really nice food and we loved the Sunday Roast especially.
The beach has plenty off shade with the trees and as much as we like to sunbathe the shade is welcome, access to the sea is not great due to all the coral but if you walk down the beach a little there is good access.
All in all another great visit to Savannah and we look forward to returning at the end of the year 😀

Our first time in Barbados and what a great stay we had at this hotel. Its spotlessly clean and the staff can't do enough to help you. special shout out to Rachel on reception who organised our car hire and helped out when things did not go according to plan with the car.
We had a one bedroom apartment and cooked in the fully equipped kitchen a couple of evenings. We were on a B&B basis and the breakfast in the Calabash restaurant was of a high standard and plentiful.
The only slight niggle is that there is nothing really to do in a comfortable walking distance of the hotel. On the evenings we did not have the car to get to The Gap we caught the bus and a taxi back for 25BBD.
Would definitely recommend this place and stay there again.

We stayed here the night we landed, before heading out to where we were staying for the whole week, but I would definitely stay here for longer if given the opportunity. The food of the restaurant was amazing, the ladies at the spa were so accommodating for a scheduling conflict for our massages, the sand is beautiful and the rooms were great. It had a little kitchen and some snacks for us when we showed. Wonderful (short) stay.

A small boutique hotel 15 mins in a taxi from the airport, next door to a monster Sandals.
Conveniently located between Oistins and Bridgetown. Such friendly and helpful staff, and a menagerie of birds and cats complement the relatively basic decor that suits the style of the place.
The food is good, and (by my calcs) there's very little difference between B&B rate and pay-as-you-go. which keeps your options open. It's easy to get a sunbed and as well as a leisure pool you have very easy access to a wonderful beach (where you can walk past the honeymoon couples from Sandals being photographed on the beach :-) and you can just enjoy the sound of the surf and the wind in the palm trees. There's a well equipped gym but no pool for serious swimming.
The pool bar is very sociable - I've met some very friendly Brits and Canadians of all ages as well as Americans of course. Happy hour 15:30-16:30 is a great rallying call for folks to gather and socialise.
Families with small kids seem to fit in very well, with the little ones being sweet biut not annoyingly noisy like in some places I've stayed.
Downsides? Very few. The very roomy suite would have benefited from a bath. Whilst I do seem hung up about Sandals, you can't exactly avoid it if you want to walk around it to the nice restaurants on St Lawrence Gap. Curiously, it would be nice to have a few more bins to put trash (although the place was still spotless). Finally, I would have liked a bit more consistency about when room service came around each day.
Advice? Ask for a ground floor room that opens onto the pool area and so is a 30-second walk from the beach...

Really impressed with our stay in Bouganvillea. The hotel is on one of the prettiest beaches we saw during our stay in Barbados.
The pool area was very relaxing, with the right level of background music from the bar. Service at the pool bar was generally great though could be slow at busy times - cocktails are all made fresh to order.
The beach is spectacular, and a sunbed can always be found. The sea was really rough when we were there (November) so may not be suitable for kids. Further up the coast was much calmer but then you're moving towards busier areas.
The rooms are well appointed, with a big and powerful shower with reliable heat and useful kitchenette to have breakfast, lunch or drinks on the balcony. Key cleaning and cooking equipment is provided.
The on site restaurant Calabash is also really good and good value for money - useful for lazy lunches or dinners without leaving the resort. Snacks can also be ordered to have around the pool area or takeaway.
Taxis are aplenty to get to and from St Lawrence Gap - the nearest area for dinner and drinks. Standard fare was 15USD per trip, so useful to plan that in. It is walkable, though along a main road. VR minibuses are every couple of minutes along the highway, about 5 minutes from the hotel front. A supermarket is walkable on the edge of Oistins.
It's not a full 5 star but I think it's value for money. For example, the rooms could do with some TLC and use of better quality fabrics for the bedding. But I would come back so that gets the 5 from me!

I don’t like being played. No one does when coming to a new place. Highly rated place so we were a bit stumped when they said our king bed 2nd floor room was broken. Apparently beyond repair, to me sounds like they gave our room away. We are now in a ground floor with two beds not king we specified and a pissed of partner. So I made the comment that I liked ground floor rooms, not knowing much of anything. My wife instantly said no. Now two hours later she went back, I am her husband writing the review, “your husband wanted the ground floor. They are not sure if they can get the type of room we asked for, must have been catastrophic damage. Not only played but thought as a fool. Hotel grounds are lovely !

Our first time to Barbados. The hotel we stayed in is called The Rockley and the staff there are wonderful. We honestly felt like family by the time we left.
Nothing was too much trouble.
The facilities in the hotel include a gym, lounge, and bar. There's also a restaurant but we mostly ate outside in the bar area.
The beach across the road from the hotel, who provide you with beach towels for the beds.
There is also many shops, bars and eateries within 5 minutes of the hotel so it's a perfect place to stay.
We are already looking at opportunities to come back and stay!

The Rockley exceeded my expectations! The pictures absolutely dont do justice of the beautiful ambiance and vibe of this place. It was my first time in Barbados and everyone was so hospitable and warm. The staff always had a smile on their face and never passed you without a greeting. The area was absolutely safe and accessible to other resources. I traveled solo and The Rockley contributed in making it an amazing and unforgettable experience

Loved our stay at the hotel. Quirky decor and very friendly staff. Rooms were big with a small kitchen and a spacious lounge area. Beach opposite with a lovely boardwalk that you could walk along. Taxis opposite and bus stop nearby. Plenty of places to eat at nearby, varying in cost.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Great location, 100 yards to the beach, reserved sunbeds, and umbrella. Close to local eateries and bars. With Bajan's love for saying hello with a beep from their cars, it can be a little noisy during rush hours, but it's a happy toot, not angry. Large rooms with double bedrooms, kitchenettes, large showers with double basins and lounge areas. Also, a balcony. More of an apartment than a room. Great breakfast, with more than enough choice. Egg chef will cook your egg to perfection (and sing to the background music while doing so), and the peanut butter is to die for! Will definitely stay again.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel for multiple reasons.
First, breakfast is of very poor quality. For our 5 day stay we ate there once never to return again. Coffee was disgusting.
Second, to get to the ocean you need to cross a busy road and then a parking lot with a bunch of local taxi drivers and just people loitering in that area -- drinking, smoking, etc.
Third, bar personnel is rude and dismissive.
The cherry on top was a 5-9:30 karaoke in their entertainment agenda. Hotel staff said it would finish at 9, but it just kept going. The sound is cranked up all the way and a bunch of drunk people shout for more than 4 hours and you can hear every word in your room. Most of the people signing are not from the hotel, as there is no security at all to get to the bar. We have complained about it multiple times, but nothing was done. I take it the bar sales are more important than the comfort of their guests.

I spent three nights here while renewing my E3 Visa. They gave me great rates and amazing service. The people are fantastic right from the minute I arrived. The resort is very quiet beautiful grounds the rooms are first class as is the service. The food is first class Chef Christophe serves up amazing food. I had to relocate after this for three more days to another hotel and it was like night and day difference. I would recommend this place to anyone but especially Aussies you won’t be disappointed
It is a bit far from most things so rental car is probably needed as taxis can get expensive but for relaxation you cannot beat this place

We absolutely loved The Little Good Harbour - it was one of the most delightful places we have ever stayed. Our cottage was gorgeous (we loved having a kitchen and sea views / sounds from the balcony), the setting for both the pool and the restaurant was stunning, and staff were so wonderful. Javon in particular was amazingly helpful when our return flight was cancelled and we were stranded in Barbados - he sorted everything for us. And, of course, eating at The Fish Pot was fabulous. We very much hope to be back!!

Stayed for 2 weeks, we went half board for most of the time which was a mistake in hindsight, dinner was in the Fish Pot Restaurant, the menu is limited if you are eating there for any period over say 5 or 6 nights that being said the food is fabulous, service excellent, view amazing and the breakfast choice outstanding. I would definitely recommend a car as the complex is a little remote but for us that was a bonus not a negative.
We stayed in a one bedroom villa which was nicely maintained and had quality furniture and good outdoor space, it was serviced every morning to a really high standard. Overall an outstanding experience made extra special by the staff who were simply the best.

Wonderful hotel and restaurant. We originally booked this hotel because of the Fish Pot restaurant. We were so pleasantly surprised with the beautiful accommodations. The staff was also incredibly kind and helpful, Trevor and Olivia especially. The grounds are well maintained and the rooms had everything we needed.

We have had lunch here twice during our stay in Barbados.
We loved the food, what we loved:
The jumbo prawns which were to die for, the octopus, the catch of the day which both times was perfectly cooked and the steak which I would have felt dubious about as in my experience cows in the heat don't produce good meat. My friend is big on steak he likes his tomahawk and was very enthusiastic about it.
The sticky toffee pudding also got rave reviews.
Decor and restoration of the old building was wonderful. I particularly liked the views we had out of the middle room where looking through the square windows the white contrasted beautifully with the turquoise and blues of sea and sky.
The beach chairs umbrellas and outside service was just right.
The snorkeling is about average for the Caribbean where little care is taken of the coral. However the floating pier is a great amenity that is provided for getting past the rocks.
I really can't think of anything we didn't like except for the online booking system which could do with some improvement.

Not a pleasant experience. Not kid friendly especially food wise, late night music right in front of your room. Some staff are trying, but service generally is poor. The best staff member is maintenance guy, who resolved our issue instantly! Room is fine, leaking faucet that drips to the floor can be tolerated. Food is average, breakfast is fine, lunch is below average, we never had dinner here as we wanted to have good food at least once a day. Very limited parking, first come first serve.

Just back from 10 days at the Island Inn. We loved the character and history of the hotel. Yes, it’s a little tired in places but kept very clean. Situated just a couple of minutes walk from Pebbles Beach and convenient for bus routes. Staff looked after us so well and some gave up their families to stay with us during Hurricane Beryl….we were fed and watered as normal and felt very safe. Food was very good with something for everyone; any allergies also catered for. Bedroom sizes seem to vary but we had a large twin with two queen beds and big bathroom. Bed very comfy. We loved sitting in the communal areas and getting to know other guests. Staff and guests were one happy family and we would go back there in a heart beat…..thank you to all at Island Inn for helping to make our Barbadian adventure so much fun and so enjoyable 🏝️

3* Hotel with 5* service. We had a wonderful week at the hotel. Food was fabulous, a different menu every day
. Great bar with a good selection of well known brands. Entertainment on alternate nights. Well placed for exploring. Buses and taxis on your doorstep. Also able to use facilities at sister hotels The Sands and Mango Bay which was a lovely added bonus. Walking distance to Bridgetown and to the race track if you fancy a flutter. Great beaches just moments away. We purchased snorkel equipment at a pharmacy shop in Worthing which was better value than renting at the beach. The staff were all so friendly, from maintenance to reception, bar to kitchen and room cleaning. Nothing was too much trouble. We needed to hold our room for extra time as we were on standby flights and the manager was so helpful and made it much less stressful. A really wonderful small friendly hotel that I would return to in a heartbeat. Thanks to all at Island Inn.

Just arrived back to the UK after spending 10 days. I can honestly say we had a fantastic experience. The views and location to the beach are some of the best you'll ever see. The service from all the staff was as good as anywhere else I have been, if not better. The food was delicious with many options to choose from and rotated regularly. The roasts meats were particularly my favourite.
We were made to feel welcome. The other guests / family's of all ages at the hotel were all very friendly and a real holiday atmosphere was pressent the whole time making it even more enjoyable.
A lovely little gift shop too, selling trinkets and basic essentials.
I would highly recommend the Beach Club. Well done to all the staff there, you should all be proud of yourselves, thank you.
10/10 - 5 stars from all of us.

Lots of mixed reviews on this hotel, based on my experience some of the staff were very rude. While waiting for breakfast, one of them muttered, ‘how nasty these people are,’ referring to guests at the coffee/tea station because a teabag wrapper was left on the table. My family and other guests were waiting nearby, which made this even more unprofessional. The food is horrible, horrible can’t express how bad the food was. My husband sat down for breakfast and almost fell off the chair because it was broken. The food utensils, cups and plates are very, very old. Now there are some of the staff that were so kind and helpful and would at least smile and answer nicely. I must mention the person in charge of the activities, Desiree, she is amazing and very friendly made our fishing experience exceptional. I would however not recommend this hotel and would definitely not be back. You can tell based on the amount of bad reviews that this hotel doesn’t care to improve or about their standards. It’s definitely not worth the all inclusive package.

I think I would give this place an overall rating of C. The building is rather dated and in need of a facelift. But I can say that the rooms were clean and the air conditioning did work well . Although it was advertised to have three restaurants, there were only two of them, and one was only open 2 days a week. So really, it was the buffet or nothing. The food had a pretty good selection and was passable. The resort did offer activities daily, and the views were nice. However, the staff was Hit or Miss: several of them seemed really disgruntled, but most were rather nice and courteous. The drinks in the all-inclusive package were tasty but not very potent. If you are looking for a resort that has a great Beach to enjoy, one this south of the island is probably not the best selection, because the waves are very rough and not really amenable to swimmers.

No hot water first night, Toilet loads of scale on toilet, balcony need a paint job nails sticking out of wood. One night we had ants in the bed, Furniture was date draws on unit squealed when opened, shower head in need of descaling, Room Wi-Fi no existent, hair drier couldn't switch off had to get maintenance urgently. House keeping Narden was brilliant with what she was able to do. Room fridge had to unplug at night very noisy couldn't resolve this. Socket on wall near fridge loose.Air con control climb over bed to turn on/off to adjust.
Canteen/restaurant
Plates are cold, therefore warm food put on a cold plate = food not being very hot we did complain action nil. Don't leave your food unattended as the birds will be on it having a nibble..even when food came off the BBQ it wasn't hot. Cheese board needs to be put on ice as it sweats. Duck rolls are not crispy they taste like uncooked. Watch the holes at bottom of servers bar late evening bugs come out then vanish back when foot traffic gets near.
If you get a smile from any one in there your lucky. The area near open window areas was filthy and rusty.
Pool area
Not enough sun beds the eight around pool reseed by 6.30 am even though not used till 10 am only got a sunbed once in two weeks beech towels have to pay deposit for a towel that is so thin. Pool is quite small
Communication
Your rep only wants to tell you about what they have trips to sell no help there. Does the hotel communicate what facilities there are NO only found out two day before coming home they have tennis court and fitness room. Also trip to Oistins having been to reception to enquire about this at no point did they say oh you need to book shuttle.did get a ride in it however front seat don't lean on door or you could fall out what a reck. So many times its like getting blood out of a stone to find things out. Wi-Fi best place to get this is sit in reception area. I was also concerned about the way management told staff off in front of guests.
Beach
the beach was full of seaweed despite efforts to dig holes and bury it sea here is very rough didn't even get a chance to swim in sea so sad
The whole place wants a complete face lift or pulling down we paid a lot of money to go here. If you want my view don't even entertain it.

After reading some negative reviews I was nervous about staying here but went with an open mind. On arrival it was a bit tired but the reception staff were lovely, a slight delay getting into room but not a problem as we sat by the pool and went to the beach and had drinks and food. The room was very clean and spacious and lots of storage. The location is perfect with its own beach. The food was amazing and being a small hotel felt very homely. The staff worked hard and responded well to being treated with kindness and respect. Would definitely stay here again

We had such an awesome time lodged at the crane, we were welcomed with a cold glass of punch. Very comfortable room with great view, our room was cleaned everyday.
Staff: very friendly and always had a great smile
Restaurant: we only ate once at this hotel in our 7 day stay as we wanted to explore other options on the island. We had our anniversary dinner at Zen in one of the Thai boots. Zen had a great view of the ocean.
The only downside to this resort is that it’s atleast 20 minutes from where most of the action happens in Barbados. I would recommend getting a car if you plan to stay at this resort and explore the country.
Beach: lovely beach view, my wife would go watch the sunrise most mornings and she loved it. The only issue is with the seaweeds. They were always there. The crane management could benefit from netting out the seaweed before it gets to the shore.
Overall it was a great experience staying here

What a place to have lunch!! My sister, aunty and I came to the crane for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect (a little rain) the service when we arrived was amazing. We were shown to a table with in moments of us arriving. Our servers were very accommodating. Anything we needed it was provided.
The views from our table were just beautiful.
The food was very nice and enjoyable. The drinks too. The whole resort was clean and a really nice vibe.
We went for a walk after lunch and again, just a lovely space.
We will definitely will be back.

The staff made the trip incredibly easy for us. Truly exceptional, I wish I remembered all their names! We had an extended stay, concerns about what to do for two weeks resolved quickly. We were resting up prior to a medical procedure, and this resort was the perfect place for us to do that. Private pools were refreshing, rooms were beautiful. Kitchen had everything we needed. All the restaurants were delicious and reasonably priced. The views around the resort were exceptional. We enjoyed the day trip on the yacht and all the resort events available to us. We even had fresh coconut delivered to our room, unbelievable! We will definitely be back and are incredibly grateful for all the sunrise & sunsets.

We stayed at the Crane from December 27-31st. We had a mixed experience here.
The good:
-The beach is outstanding! The water is clear blue/green and you can see straight to the bottom. The sand is pure white and smooth. There are beautiful waves that are great for body surfing, but probably too strong for younger children.
-The resort is lovely and very beautiful and not too big.
-We stayed in one of The Contemporary rooms and it was very spacious and clean. No bugs and very few mosquitos.
The bad:
- Housekeeping. 2 days they didn't show up and we had to call continuously to make sure they came. We were a family of 5 and they never remembered to leave 5 towels or to make up the pull out couch. The safe didn't work in the room and our showers were warm, but not hot.
- Terrible service in ALL the restaurants. All meals took 2 hours and they WERE properly staffed. The staff seemed not to care and could not be any less helpful. Very disappointing!
- Large beautiful jacuzzi that was NOT hot only lukewarm. Again, very disappointing. Why build a large beautiful jacuzzi and not heat it?
- Always out of towels on the beach.
Overall, we paid over $1000/night to stay here and for that price we expected things to be better managed. This place has potential to be amazing with better management. Restaurants need to be overhauled and useless staff needs to be let go. Kitchen needs to move faster. Housekeeping needs to be better organized and managed. There needs to be wait service on the beach. I would return to the Crane only if new management was put in place.

My stay at The Abidah hotel was nothing short of awesome. From Nikki at check-in who made sure our welcome mat was placed to the bartenders Rico and Kyle who made our drinks with love and other staff. The room was beautiful, jacuzzi was relaxing and the food was awesome from breakfast to dinner. I will definitely recommend The Abidah Hotel!

Whilst the hotel is nice in a good location, I found the service pretty poor. First of all when I arrived I was told that the hotel does not have porters to assist with luggage. In addition there were no trolleys. I had to carry my two suitcases and hand luggage by myself to the 4th floor. The hotel has one elevator. So if there is any fault with the elevator one has to walk up the stairs. A hotel of that size must have at least two elevators. Indeed, the elevator did have a fault yesterday and I had to walk up the stairs to the 4th floor. Today, when the room was cleaned the cleaner took the used towels away but forgot to replace them with clean towels. I had to call three times before someone eventually brought a clean set of towels, half an hour later. Lastly, at dinner earlier today, I ask for butter and it never arrived. The ladies in the dining room kept telling me it was coming but it never came. After 20 minutes I gave up. I doubt if I will ever stay in this hotel again.

Where do I begin? This place is absolutely AWESOME! My husband and I are world travellers and this is one of the best resorts we have ever been to. From the moment we checked in, Shawnice made us feel welcome (and she was also very helpful in booking our snorkeling trip). The food has been non-stop over the top; hats off to the amazing chef here, whose creativity and skill in the kitchen was top notch. In the restaurant, all wait staff were friendly and accommodating. A special shout out to two of their younger members, Christina and Kyle: keep doing what you do because you made us very happy. And, last but not least, a BIG star to the Wizard behind the Bar…Andreah. This gentleman understands the importance of stellar customer service. We appreciate you man.
Management at the Abbidah should also be acknowledged because, clearly, they have nurtured a caring responsive staff/team.

We are leaving this quaint hotel and it was perfect for adults that simply want to relax.
Staff here is AMAZING!
Neal is one of the supervisors and I'm pretty convinced there is nothing he doesn't do. When the dining room got crowded- he jumped in. He mixed drinks when an extra set of hands was needed as well. He also was very friendly and made great conversation!
Tre is AMAZING behind the bar! He made one of the best mojitos I've ever had and his espresso martini is top notch! Hw even took note a day we went to the beach and he remembered how I take my mojito and had one sent down to me.
Christina runs the entire dining area at this time of year with a smile and grace! I'm gluten free and the hotel did not have many options to accommodate that, she went above and beyond especially at tea time.
Beach
The beach area is STUNNING! I love that it is a natural beach so there are plenty of waves. Morning stretching and yoga was great at 7am! There are always plenty of very friendly locals. We were not once harassed with people trying to sell us items.
Pool
We loved the pool. It was refreshing even though it was consistently 95 or hotter. This shower to rinse off from the beach does need to be fixed. It is pretty much useless. And the radio that plays music goes in and out, which is disappointing.
Rooftop
I have NO IDEA why this hotel is not utilizing their roof top area. There should 100% be at least a bar/lounge area up there. We went to Cafe luna two doors down and they did an amazing job. Abidah should be putting a mobile bar up there, some bistro tables, string lights. It is prime real estate with an amazing view and it's just being left empty.
Entertainment
There is NONE. It didn't really bother us, but i mean even the music system was not reliable by the bar at night. They could easily set up karaoke a few nights a week for their guests. We were also here in the off season so I'm sure this did not help.
Room
We had Room 302 which is oceanview with two balconies and was gorgeous. Our air went out one night at 3am but maintenance had it fixed in 15 min. We also had an issue with them regulating our shower water temperature. House keeping came daily and we were always impressed. I just wish they would leave more towels. The robes in the room are lovely.
Room Service
None. We were disappointed we couldn't order a bottle of wine or a fruit platter to the room. This could easily be an additional on that generates money for them.
Food
We had no issues with the food. Breakfast was my least favorite, but honestly we never went hungry. Lunch was always delicious. Dinners are a different theme every night.

I traveled with ladies that we retired together and or worked with. There were 6 of us. We had the best time. The rooms were beautiful the pools and beach area was perfect. The food and drinks were outstanding. The people were so friendly and nice. We met a lot of nice guests too. The entertainment was good as well. It was a great vacation and a place I would like to come to again.

Visited for 10 nights with 5 others, and I enjoyed every second of our stay. The hotel itself is in a perfect location, with entry to the beach at the rear of the hotel, with stunning views of the very blue sea. The rooms are clean and spacious, but the hotel doesn't have any lifts, and so bedrooms on floors 2, 3 & 4 can only be accessed via stairs. This is unfortunate due to obviously having to carry heavy suitcases up to said rooms - particularly for the older visitors. However, there are friendly & helpful bellboys who will carry the luggage up for you. The food was delicious - there was great variety from both of the restaurants on site (sunset & Enid's). Don't really understand previous reviewers complaining about lack of flavour etc, as all meat cooked was cooked with plenty of sauces or seasoning, as were the rice/any pastas, and the bread was always lovely too.
The bar & restaurant staff are fantastic - particularly Vinnie, Darius and Jermaine. They were attentive, polite and kept us amused throughout out stay and beside the pool. The restaurant staff were always lovely too. However, there was only one staff member who let down the resort and that was a woman on the reception desk. I was unable to get her name; however, her greeting when we arrived in the evening on our first night was dull, with no real enthusiasm and was more interested in being given a credit card. She was also incredibly unhelpful when checking out, which was an absolute mess around.
Overall, the stay was brilliant. I would definitely visit again, and would visit for 10 nights again, if not more. Cannot fault the resort, the food or the location and would recommend to couples and groups of people alike. Would happily give 5 stars had it not been for the negative interactions with the woman at the front desk.

I can’t praise the staff enough. Everyone from the managers to the house keeping staff were all amazing!! The rooms were extremely clean, drinks were amazing, and the food was great. Everyone was pleasant and eager to help in any way possible. As I solo traveler safety wasn’t an issue. I felt totally comfortable at all times. Everyone answered any questions that I had. I had a wonderful massage at the spa. The drinks were amazing and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was awesome. Everyone from the coffee girl (sorry I can’t remember everyone’s names) the bartenders, and especially Bob and Rondo. These two gentlemen were especially sweet. Very gentlemanly 😊 I would highly recommend this place. Solo or not, it’s totally wonderful. I’m definitely coming back. I didn’t have a negative experience with anyone there. As beginning solo traveler safety wasn’t an issue. Day or night.They set the bar very high for my future solo travels.

Had a nice time and met some nice people here. Bit of an older crowd and more British people than I expected. Rooms nice, but insects are very noisy at night and generally turn it in around 5am. Older staff are much more attentive and engaging. The food is good at breakfast and lunch, but sadly a bit hit a miss at night we found. Lime tree shops and a big Masseys nearby also if needed for water. Main attraction is the beach, which can be accessed next door and serves Sandy Lane, which is beautiful and definitely a reason to stay here.

Accounts about the property and staff . The lengthy rebuttal from the place doesn’t surprise me because they have an excuse for everything as well as they just say sorry . They don’t offer any compensation or do anything to make up for poor service . The staff minus maybe 3 people are the worst staff at any resort I have been to. Management told me that they are rough on the outside and if we tried harder and cracked their shell they would come around and be nicer then. They were so rude to us and we never felt welcomed there . From the guy in the towel shed who yelled at me to the waitress who made us clear our own plates after eating because she was annoyed we were eating . The grounds are in disarray. We were led to our rooms by a back alley. Everyone is allowed to smoke all over the property. Our toilet clogged and the cleaning people left the dirty bleach rags on my husband’s clothes in the bathroom. We spoke to management several times and she had nothing to say but sorry. She seems to be in the wrong industry as you can tell no one respected her and nothing changed while there. People sit right out in front of your ocean view room by your patio- it is weird and uncomfortable . Everything was falling apart, the AC units were a mess and broken things. There is no beach . No pool service . We did everything we could to stay off property and had to pay so much to try and enjoy our vacation. We had three rooms! They did nothing to compensate us. When at the spa, which is really in need of updating they short changed my daughter with by an hour of service and still charged us and had to get it refunded . The quality of food is poor and it takes forever to get an order. It was a horrible vacation and feeling to be so unwanted at a place and such rude staff. I tried to get compensation from the company Elite Islands resort and they did nothing as well.
The more reviews I read it is amazing to hear your excuses for what people write . People come back there that are old, smoke and are drunk. That’s why they like the place . It felt like staying at an assisted living center with cranky staff . There is no striving for anything there to change or improve . They have such bad attitudes and are not there to please.

The hotel is in a fabulous location in the heart of Holetown near bars and restaurants as well as on a beach. The staff are brilliant, the most welcoming hotel I have stayed at and always go the extra mile. The room has all the essentials like air con, a fridge of soft drinks and all the storage and everything else you would expect. The perfect place for a romantic stay and proposal.

I had a really enjoyable stay here. Beautiful, modern and clean property, but some of the grounds need upkeep, which is unfortunate for such a new hotel.
The service overall was good, and our server at Castle View for dinner was top notch. Genuinely friendly and enthusiastic. Appreciate all the vegan options at the resort.
Rooms are bright, modern and spacious. Gym is moderately equipped, enough to get a decent work out in.
The pool area has plenty of seating and offers private nooks. The lantern pool bar leaves A LOT to be desired. Underwhelming in every way, like it’s an afterthought.
The beach is beautiful, but covered in seaweed. The hotel does not remove it so it just continuously piles up.
$25 room service delivery fee is outrageous and unacceptable.
Overall, a relaxing place to get away for a bit, but it’s not without its quirks.

Place is beautiful, Ocean view room was terrific. They have some glitches for instance no one answers the phones and housekeeping seems to be under staffed. The food at Castle View is awesome, make sure you make reservations as soon as you can. Sam Lords Grill is very good and the buffet is a buffet. Bartenders at Castle view are true mixologists and can make anything you can imagine. All in all a great experience.

I recently stayed at Wyndham Sam Lord’s Castle in Barbados, and I can say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, everything was just perfect.
The property itself is stunning, modern with the charm of the island. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and clean.
The food was absolutely amazing. The buffet offered a great variety of fresh and flavorful dishes. While there is only one additional dinner spot outside the buffet, which could use some expansion, the overall dining experience was still excellent.
Every staff member I encountered was super friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Their warmth and hospitality truly made the trip special.
Overall, Wyndham Sam Lord’s Castle is a fantastic stay with luxurious accommodations, great food, and amazing service. I can’t wait to return! Would highly recommend!

This resort is gorgeous but the overall consensus is that management has some serious fine-tuning to do.
1. The check in process was absolutely chaotic.
The check-in area was jam packed with people waiting to check in, and people who were already checked in and just waiting on their room (not to mention the constant flow of current guests having to come to the lobby to rectify an ongoing complaint because they weren’t being helped else where).
We were checked in and told to have a seat. Half hour goes by and another staff member asks us if we need assistance. We let the member know, we’re waiting on our room. She goes to the front desk, comes back to us and lets us know our room is ready, and to follow her. If that lady didn’t approach us, lord knows how much longer we would’ve been sitting there.
2. They’re clearly understaffed. My wife and I don’t bother the staff when we’re away but we noticed that our room was tended to only once, during our 5 night stay. We didn’t mind, but for the price, it was definitely expected.
While being seated at the pool area, us patrons weren’t being served, despite consistently seeing servers pass by. If anyone around the pool area wanted drinks, we had to walk up to the pool bar and get it ourselves. I didn’t like that.
3. The dining options are limited. Most foods are buffet style, in the main restaurant (Mediterranean). The fine dining option (Castle View) is always packed so make sure you make your reservation asap.
The room itself was gorgeous. The resort grounds are beautiful- but again this is expected because this is a brand new resort. I don’t imagine them being able to keep it up in the coming years, if they continue the way they’re going now. Feel free to book but, do so with a grain of salt.

I recently stayed at this resort in January 2025 with 3 of my girl friends (aged 25).
Pros:
-Stunning resort with a beautiful outlook to the beach.
-Ease of transportation supplied by the resort with a fee.
-Adult drinks were good.
-Resort was clean and provided four pools in different areas.
-The Castle View restaurant on the resort was pretty inside and outside.
-Great resort for pictures.
-Majority of staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons:
-Buffet food was average at best.
-Limited reservations at restaurants.
-Swim up pool bar was closed.
-Limited activities for night life.
-Very remote from off-resort activities (30-50 minutes from most areas).
-Some staff did not want to be bothered to assist you.
-Resort taxis were expensive ($55 for a one-way 20 minute trip).
Overall, I would stay there again, however I would first check out other resorts that are closer to the town.

Sugar Bay exceeded my expectations by far!! It was our honeymoon and the best trip of our lives.
I'd recommend ground floor for best beach access. The room was stunning, bright and super clean!
I've never met a more kind, helpful, polite and courteous team of staff in my life.
The food, THE FOOD was incredible!! Lots of options, we don't eat red meat and we're able to fill up with healthy and filling options every meal.
We don't drink alcohol, and we were very surprised and happy with the mocktail lists at every bar.
We stayed on the resort a lot and made time for sun and swimming (the water is stunning and the sand is like powdered sugar), but we also walked every day at least once off resort and the area was safe, with friendly people everywhere and lots to see around.
Only regret is not staying longer, but I know we will be back.
I'll be recommending Sugar Bay forever.
Can't wait to go again.

Sugar Bay Hotel – Absolutely Perfect.
We had the most amazing stay at the Sugar Bay Hotel in Barbados. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptional – every single one of them went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. Their friendliness and attention to detail were second to none.
The food was outstanding – every meal was delicious, with plenty of variety to suit all tastes. Whether dining by the beach or enjoying a cocktail at the bar, everything was flawless.
The hotel itself is stunning, with beautifully maintained grounds and a gorgeous beach right on the doorstep. It truly felt like paradise.
There was absolutely nothing to fault during our stay – everything was perfect from start to finish. We highly, highly recommend Sugar Bay to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable holiday. We can’t wait to return!

The standard room is pretty small. The furniture could use an upgrade. The beach, food, and cocktails are great. Definitely one of the better all inclusive meals I’ve had. They advertise 4 restaurants but only two are truly all inclusive. The sushi restaurant and steakhouse you have to pay for if you go more than once or if you order multiple appetizers or main dishes.

The room was excellent - well appointed, clean and with a very comfortable king-size bed.
It had a fridge, a safe and tea and coffee-making facilities. The bathroom had a walk-in rainforest shower.
The best feature of the resort was the food, which was outstanding.
The quality and variety of the ingredients, the preparation and the service were faultless at all three meals.
However, the resort is let down by the main pool, which is far too shallow (2 to 3 feet) so it is more of a paddling pool than a swimming pool. It has a prominent sign saying “The swim-up bar pool is an adult-only pool. Children under 16 years are not permitted.” Despite this, the pool was full of children even occupying the bar stools at times. The staff took no action to enforce the rule.
Another prominent sign says “At Sugar Bay we only acknowledge bums saving loungers, not towels, bags or books.” Again, this was ignored by the staff and all the loungers were reserved by various means by 07.00 every morning.
There are no showers or toilets at the pool - a significant omission for a bar pool.
It was disappointing that for a resort of this size there is no guest laundry on site. Laundry is sent to an outside company (US$25 for a small bag) and is returned roughly folded, not ironed.
Lastly, beware of a large tree at the end of the bar area beside the stage. It has tables under it. It sheds sticky resinous sap on unsuspecting guests, leaving stains on clothes which are impossible to remove. When we informed the management of this and suggested that at least a sign should be posted to warn of this problem, we were rudely told that they were unaware of the problem. This is clearly untrue as the ground, decking and tables around the tree are covered in stains from the sap and several returning guests and members of staff told us they were aware of it.

Having stayed at various hotels around Barbados, we were advised to try Cobblers Cove—and thank goodness we did! From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. Although our initial room wasn’t to our taste, the staff promptly relocated us to a beautiful and more suitable room, setting the tone for an incredible week of bliss.
Cobblers Cove quickly felt like home, and the staff truly became friends. Special thanks to the housekeeping team for keeping our room immaculate throughout our stay, even as I returned from diving, paddleboarding, fishing, and other excursions. Your attention to detail was truly appreciated!
Bradley at the water sports outlet was a standout. Not only is he an amazing person, but his tips on snorkeling, finding turtles, and the best fishing spots made our adventures unforgettable. And Virgil at the bar—what an absolute gem and a true statesman. His warmth and professionalism elevated every moment.
The hotel’s design and attention to detail are second to none, perfectly blending with the stunning environment. The flora and gardens are breathtaking, and kudos to the grounds team for maintaining such an incredible space.
Cobblers Cove is cared for with genuine passion by a team that excels at what they do. Thank you all for putting up with us and for creating memories we will cherish forever. We can’t wait to return and see you all again soon!

I found the service lacking at pool, restaurant and bar. There seems to be a lack of interest in serving guests. And a lack of supervision.
The staff seem to lack a team approach and are in need of one person that manages their performance.
It’s such a beautiful venue and I love the quiet serenity of the gardens. Previous visits made me feel special. This visit made me feel not noticed.

Cobbler’s Cove deposit repayment
I paid a substantial deposit in March 2024 for a stay at Cobbler’s Cove, Barbados from January into February 2025. Unfortunately due to my wife’s failing health I found it necessary to cancel our holiday. Following a phone call to the hotel from myself, I was assured I had cancelled within the time limit to receive a full refund of the deposit, late November 2024, as I recall. This can be proven to be correct by the email string I have on the subject from the hotel front desk manager.
I paid the deposit of £7,856.19 on an HSBC debit card, which shortly after I paid was lost in an ATM machine. The hotel told me payment could only be made to the card which was used to make the original payment. Rather difficult as the card doesn’t exist anymore. Despite me suggesting alternative methods of repayment the hotel has been intransigent in insisting payment can only be made to that card. I asked a pal who was on the island in January 2025 to give a letter I wrote for the attention of the general manager, to the front desk manager. In the letter I suggested payment could be made to my solicitors on the island and they could pay me. Not even a response to the letter!!
Early February 2025, I am still nearly £8K out of pocket and no sign of repayment being made. I will now be consulting my solicitors on the island but not before giving a one star review to a hotel I never actually got to stay in.
12/2/25 Update:
As well as not replying to the letter that was hand delivered to the general manager via the front desk, the hotel general manager now denies receiving an email from my solicitor. Maybe their IT system is as dodgy as their customer relations!!
They now say they will accept certified passport and bank documents from my solicitor if couriered to them. I'm not holding my breath but hopefully this will do the trick.
14/2/25 Update:
The general manager having received the documentation I refer to above - certified copies of passport and bank statement - has now referred my repayment to the accounts department; they want more documentation from my solicitors. Not unreasonable on the face of it, you might say, but it has taken over two and a half months to arrive at this point. Refunds policy, not fit for purpose, springs to mind. I will have my solicitor present the further documents they want and wait to see what further hoops they wish me to jump through.
21/2/25 Update:
Received full refund of deposit. Yipee!!
You have been warned, it's easier to pay Cobbler's Cove than it is to get your money back from them, and what you would do if you didn't have a solicitor on the island, God only knows.
Partly my mistake for using a debit card instead of a credit card, so I have changed my one star rating to a two.

Very uninterested staff, almost arrogant waiters. Most kind and nice were guys at the bar. Clean and comfortable rooms. No guest relations at all. Breakfast poor and greedy - buffet - bread and simple carbs. No fruit. Limited to 2 eggs per person. Looks more like nursery house. Practicality no swimming pool- a little more like a bath was near of the dining area. Souvenir shop mostly closed.

Amazing hotel, great location with amazing staff. Bedrooms were great, plenty of room. Couple of issues with shower and toilet but these were fixed immediately.
Breakfast and lunch were both exceptional. Dinner was more limited but also of a very high standard. Drinks, cocktails etc again excellent and service great especially around the pool areas.
Went out on the small sailing boat for about 40 mins which was free. Big shout out to Jimal who took us. Really great added bonus.
Would definitely return and recommend.

I was very impressed with this resort. During our Barbados vacation we stayed at Sea Breeze’s sister resort, O2 Beach Club and Spa (see separate review), and were extended day privileges at Sea Breeze. We visited twice in late January. Therefore, I must emphasize that my review is limited to daytime activities as we did not have room or stay overnight.
The resort grounds, pools, restaurants and beach are beautiful. It’s exactly what you would expect from a high end tropical resort. Very picturesque and comfortable.
The restaurants are excellent and service is great.
The beach is perfect and the staff are very attentive providing lounge chair set-up, towels and drinks. Many activities are available including wind surfers, games and sand castle building toys for the kid.
The general mood of the resort is happy and friendly. Staff make the difference and are happy to help you with anything you need.

Overall it was a very pleasant stay, we felt pampered and very comfortable. Being a travel agent, I will highly recommend it to my clients who want to visit this magnificent island!

Ridiculous policy and very unwelcoming attitude. The hotel bar is located by the beach, so we dropped by during a walk along the seashore. Wanted to order a coffee when the lady behind the bar refused us any service and literally said "YOU SHOULDN'T BE ON THIS PROPERTY". She treated us like trespassers and criminals, while we just wanted to buy a drink, and there is not even any sign that it's not allowed to do 3 steps from public beach's sand to bar's terrace. My better half and I had a wonderful stay at the Sea Breeze Beach House this past week. The weather was incredible. The facilities, food and the staff were awesome. From the servers to the managers, the staff were very engaging, enjoyable, informative, helpful and just fun to be around. Special shout outs to Sharon, Marcia, Danell, Chesterfield, Arden, Jerome, Javon, Sandra, Grace, Francine, Hyacinth and Prince. They all went out their way to be sure that we had the most enjoyable vacation. Thank you to all. Highly recommended. 5* from us.

Lots of goods and lots of bads —-
We spent a week at the Colony Club Hotel in April 2024.
It was a lovely week and we had a good time.
There were lots of negatives and lots of positives!
One disaster is how unfriendly the staff are. With a handful of exceptions of nice staff, the majority of the rest were somewhere between ignorant and almost harshly unfriendly. Even when you approached the staff with a bright smile and "good morning", there was usually no warm or friendly response. We have never felt so unwelcome anywhere. And it wasn't just us who were treated so rudely, but all the guests.
I found two small birds kept in a barren cage next to the restaurant very unkind. This is good for nothing and terrible to look at!
The hotel is getting on in years, but is expected to be renovated from the end of April 2024.
The fantastic beach deserves a special mention! Unbeatably beautiful! The free water sports facilities are also great! The quality of the live music in the evenings (which changed daily) was excellent and provided a wonderful atmosphere during the very good food. The lush green gardens are just as beautiful.
So the possibilities are there!!! Probably being renovated now too... now if they could just find nice and friendly staff it could be great.

Our experience here was not a good one. First the good points: we got into our room earlier than check in - some of the employees were very friendly - the views were very pretty - we had an amazing taxi driver who we were able to call upon a few times - our maid was wonderful and very thoughtful!!
The very wrong issues:
1. This building is not being kept up to a standard that matches the price you are charged. The outside of the buildings have rotted wood and black moldy stains.
2. The main pool was under construction ( they offer you some hotel credits for food etc.) once they finished the construction part of the pool they then started filling up this huge deep pool which meant we had little water pressure. It was not fun having to shower with such little water pressure.
3. The bathtub is very aged. The bathtub faucet was not working correctly - it was very difficult to change the water from bath to shower.
4. Room service would take too long to get ur order and then deliver it to ur room.
5. The television would not work at times. We had a remote that didn’t even have a back to it. The batteries were taped to keep them in.
6 The food was below average yet priced high.
So maybe it was timing but I will not be going back nor would I recommend it to anyone.

SPA massages not only expensive but not worth a quarter the price…don’t seem trained at all.
Cleaning staff left room open and unlocked during stay.
Room not cleaned properly, and not ready for check in. No communication skills.
Overall, understaffed and under-trained, and with very poor attitude.

Went on a girls trip and had an amazing time. The staff was amazing! From Ms. Cheryl in the kitchen, to Kevin, Daron, and Antoine, everyone was helpful and very pleasant. They had live entertainment and events right on the property which was great for days when you don’t want to leave, a well equipped spa and two pools. I would definitely recommend the Waves and will return in the future.

My wife and I visited Barbados for the first time and stayed at Waves after a cruise, a lovely relaxing way to end the holiday. The service was excellent, so friendly and attentive. A complimentary taxi boat was available and we visited sister hotels on the coastline. We stayed on the beach and used the facilities including free food and drinks, a lovely bonus. Facilities are excellent all round. Above all the staff are fantastic. We would definitely recommend.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Waves Hotel and Spa, situated on the picturesque part of the island with a beautiful white sandy beach and the most refreshing clear warm turquoise sea. Lots of free water sports such as paddle boarding, kayaking and sailing. Tubing, water skiing and jet skiing was also available for a fee. Very responsible staff keeping you hydrated on the beach with endless complimentary water, ice lollies and fresh fruit. The cocktails, wine and food were consistently of a high standard. The Asian Fusion meal in the main restaurant and the Club Sandwich in the pub was outstanding. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I wanted to say a thank you to Charmaine, who worked in the restaurant and pub area. She so kindly agreed to braid my hair the following day as I was not able to get a booking at a local salon. The hair was stunning, exactly what I wanted and it will see me throughout my one month visit of Barbados and Grenada. My hairdresser from London even messaged me to compliment my hair. We miss you guys!!! Hope to visit again. 🌴🥂❤️

My fiancé and I just returned from our stay, and despite our initial nerves after reading reviews, we had an incredible experience. We arrived early in the morning, and the staff kindly stored our luggage and quickly arranged an early check-in. Everyone, from the staff to fellow guests, was exceptionally friendly and courteous. The food was fantastic, with breakfast and lunch buffets offering a variety of options that changed daily, while dinner alternated between buffet and regular menu. There was always something delicious to enjoy. Whether we were relaxing by the beach or in the lobby, the staff frequently checked in to see if we needed anything, and by the end of our stay, some even remembered us, which made us feel truly valued. I highly recommend trying the water sports; we had a blast tubing and laughed more than ever. We can't wait to return to Waves on our next trip to Barbados!

We visited this resort in Feb 2024
We had excellent weather and the overall presentation of the resort was very good however the room décor and furniture is somewhat dated even in the newer Sandals Royal section.
Whilst all staff were very friendly and helpful. The service in restaurants was barely acceptable. We were kept waiting (10mins) at the greeting point on multiple occasions and the lack of even acknowledgment comes across as rude. On a number of occasions there was long periods of no attention either for drinks or clearing tables between courses. The quality of food was hit or miss. We had excellent meals at Portofino, La Parisian, Butch's only for these to be let down by the service level.
Kimonos was just about acceptable on both counts.
The daytime service at the beech bar, Dinos and Mariner along with Neptunes was excellent on each occasion visited.
Spices breakfast was barely acceptable for both quality of food or service. A line of 20 guests at the greeting station is unacceptable for a buffet restaurant. The maître-d should not have to take each guest to their table and keep the remainder of the line waiting. They should pass this duty to other staff. Pastries throughout the resort did not seem like they were fresh that morning.
American Tavern was barely acceptable for quality of food or service. Steaks on two occasions were poor quality cuts and poorly prepared.
Cafe-de-Paris is very poorly staffed and needs attention. It is not acceptable for the server taking the orders to make coffees, provide pastries and make crepes. this is bound to create delays.
All restaurants need more staff. They were rarely full yet getting a reservation or good service was always a problem.
Room service needs to be extended to a least midnight to offer an alternative for guests arriving late or who have had a poor dining experience.
Sandals has a reputation of being a high class resort. It appears to be living off this past reputation rather than improving its brand.

The employees who are grounds keepers and house keepers are very nice and a pleasure to talk to. 90% of the restaurant servers are nice but you can tell some are very over worked and stressed. The food was just not as good as other Sandals, period. We had a couple of roaches take a stroll across the table at Bombay . Not good! The concierges are terrible and we felt like they just told us what we wanted to hear! We asked for a mattress topper when we arrived on Monday, again on Wednesday, again on Friday, and I was very nice about it. After sleeping on the couch Friday and Saturday we finally got one on Sunday, just in time to leave on Monday. Honestly you can tell the the facility as a whole, needs better maintenance. A lot of the pool tiles are worn out and missing, and just a lot of little things that could be replaced or repaired. The drink menu's at the pool bars are so worn out you can barely read them. Our friends had the butler service and it was terrible. They asked their butler to make dinner reservations and they completely blew it 3 times, then wouldn't answer the phone. Their room was also out of hot water for 2 days. It's just a lot of little things that make a big difference. St Lucia, Grenada, and South Coast are maintained much better. It's sad because this property could be so much better if management did a better job. There were always towels at the pool, and house keeping always did a great job replacing towels and things in the room. The beach at the resort is beautiful, but a little to rough to snorkel when we were there. Captain Larry's tour was nice. We swam with the turtles, fed the monkeys and saw the north end of the island. Very nice. Honestly we are not "Karens" and I very rarely complain or write reviews about any vacation, but this was our experience. Jan 20-27, 2025

This was our first time in Barbados but not our first time with Sandals. There were a few trade offs with this resort that I noticed that isn’t consistent with other Sandals locations. For example, the food was great but wait times would often be a few hours to receive the food or be incorrect. The only restaurant that did not have this problem was Soy. Soy consistently had fast and friendly service with amazing food! There were a few facilities issues on our trip as well. For example, some of the fixtures in the room didnt fit correctly and so there was a visible hole in the wall as pictured. Also, our room was across from a service closet but workers would consistently leave bags of trash in the hallway and even let it sit all day and overnight so the smell was not pleasant. The service was hit or miss. We had a few very happy, kind, and helpful workers but also there were times when it was difficult to get any assistance. One person in our party went to the help desk 4 separate times for the same issue because it had not been resolved and she was told that the worker who had been assigned that task was out for the next few days but that they would do it when the worker was back. It did not make sense to me that they wouldnt just reassign this to another person since it wasnt a specialized task. Next, we booked fishing through the resort and we were up at 5 in the morning for our taxi that Sandals arranged. After waiting 20 minutes past the arranged time, our taxi driver found us and stated that Sandals told him to arrive at the Sandals Barbados entrance, not the Sandals Royal Barbados entrance, which was frustrating. We also booked snorkeling through Sandals, which is included. The snorkeling team was very kind and knowledgeable and made that experience awesome! I highly recommend booking the included snorkeling ahead of time. The views of the resort were fantastic and we were very excited about the private beach because that was supposed to mean that no one would be trying to sell us things. This was not the case. The first time we stepped on the beach there were a group of men who asked us if we wanted to buy weed/edibles. This was an uncomfortable experience and the only other time we went to the beach after was to watch the sunset. We also visited the spa and that was quite relaxing. The spa was clean and had a calm atmosphere. The surrounding area of the resort felt safe and we went to the fish market one night per a recommendation from someone at the resort. The fish market had long lines so if you plan to go make sure you go early. We spent most of our time at the infinity pool, which seemed to have the most activities. We went to a quieter pool a different day and the pool had algae around the perimeter so we did not go back to that one after. When we were a day out from leaving, our flight information had been updated/changed 2 days prior. No one at the desk let us know and its a good thing that we took it upon ourselves to check because our flight got moved up! Sandals is supposed to have the flight information and taxis arranged and have them be accurate. If we did not bring this up to them, we would have missed our flight by a few hours. Lastly, we had a few issues with our rooms. We had 8 people total so we had 4 rooms. In some of the rooms the shades were broken or missing. My room had both the blackout shades and the white gauzy shades but other people in my party only had 1 type. It felt a little deceptive because if we didnt have those multiple rooms we wouldnt have noticed this so there are guests who are paying for the same room as someone else but not receiving the same things as other guests in the same room type. Two people in our party stayed on the lowest level and their room had many problems. The room smelled musty/moldy the entire stay, one of the doors didnt open (it was stuck and warped from moisture i think), and the battery on the door needed to be replaced. Overall, this vacation was enjoyable based on location but perhaps did not meet Sandals resort expectations in my opinion.

We just got back from our honey moon and this was our first sandals experience and stayed at royal. We are already planing our trip to our next sandals and back to Barbados ! The staff was beyond friendly and so were the guests ! Next time we Want to explore Barbados more off the resort with some activities . I highly suggest doing the candle light dinner and sunset photos with their photo team ! Also suggest a swim up pool room , it was the best !!
Now I said 4 as we had issues with American airline canceling our flight before out early morning flight last minute , so we called the resort and they rebooked us on a better flight same time frame with Delta . This was at about midnight and we had to leave for the airport at 2am. I go to do the mobile check in and it won’t let us so we tried calling the resort back as we found out the resort did not ticket delta so they couldn’t get the boarding pass. So I tried to call back the resort and they close all lines at midnight and there is no emergency contact which is a big isssue Sandals needs to add as an option . We went to the airport anyways 4 hours early and still nothing and delta then said because of sandals mistake we either had to pay an additional 2800 dollars or miss our honeymoon essentially . Last minute I after nonstop trying I got the check in and we by a few minutes made our flight . After speaking to sandals when we arrived they did mess up and didn’t ticket the correction flight properly causing us much stress . So I would suggest this process be fixed and a emergency line added.
I was told though they would issue me some refund in the flight side so I will be watching for this and appreciated them owning and resolving the problem ! On a side note I will NEVER fly with American Airlines again lol!
Overall though 4/5 we will be back!

We enjoyed a week at Sandals Barbados but not without a few issues. The resort is lovely, the location is great and there are plenty of restaurants and pools to enjoy.
We had a butter service, which was OK, but not really that necessary for us.
With all the good, we had 2 major issues!
First, our room was not cleaned for 2 consecutive days!!! We had to make someone solve the issue the second day! Nobody took the initiative to correct it the first day! This was VERY inconvenient!!!
The positive on this was that once they sent someone to clean it the second day, they sent 2 OUTSTANDING individuals, Amanda & Joseph!!!!!! They should win “Employees of the Month”, in my book!!! They worked hard, quickly and were VERY pleasant!!!
Second, it took me 2 hours, over 2 days, to get a false $60 taxi charge off my bill before we could checkout! They wouldn’t accept my word that we never used a taxi but finally got another room’s butler to admit he charged it to the wrong room!
Again, we loved the actual resort and most all of the staff but I would not spent that amount of money to go there again, after what we experienced.

Warm and friendly staff
The food and drinks were top notch except for butches. They were a bit of a disappointment. Everything was super salty and inedible. Resort activities were plentiful, fun and exciting. The bowling was fantastic with a hype crew staff to make it even more memorable. As always the silent disco was a hit. There were multiple pools and there were ample loungers both at the pools and on the beach. The firepits were romantic and the nighttime entertainment was wonderful.

The service was excellent! Everyone was very friendly and helpful.The grounds were beautiful and well cared for. The beach was nice but the ocean was rough. So no water sports. All the bartenders went out of their way to make sure I had my drink, absolute vanilla vodka with tonic water. We had couples massage outside and it was amazing! The only negative for us was getting reservations to the restaurants that required it. Also, kimonos was a big disappointment. Our food was awful. Not sure if it was the chef or what but it’s not what we expected as we have been to Kimonos at other Sandals. All the other restaurants were very good. Loved lunch at Neptune’s. All in all, it was a great vacation!

The positives: the cleaning staff did an excellent job with the room; the service at Butch's Chophouse, Chi, & The Green Room was top notch; the proximity of oceanfront rooms to the pool and ocean was very convenient; the employees at the pool bar, the bar next to the breakfast restaurant, and the beach bar were kind and helpful; the shuttle guide was hilarious; the restaurant area was nice; there was a nice variety of restaurants (though getting reservations was unnecessarily difficult); and the property was clean and well-manicured. With all that said - it was not a 5-star room and was worth nowhere near the price we paid. The safe was broken when we arrived. The phone broke on day 1, and the phone in our friends' room was malfunctioning. Some of the food was excellent - Chi, the Green Room, and some dishes at Butch's Chophouse. The breakfast buffet had good variety. Please fix the orange juice machine. The ocean was extremely rough so that we were barely able to go into it all week. Mainly though, I want to highly emphasize that numerous staff members were unabashadly rude throughout our stay including the daily greeter at the outdoor breakfast restaurant (the manager lady who seated us one day was very kind) and our breakfast server at the rooftop Parisian restaurant, who literally snapped at us multiple times for simply trying to communicate our order and then just refused to bring juice. All six of us noticed how rude many of the staff members were. (As a point of clarification, not one male staff member was rude to my husband and me the entire week.) There is very clearly a major morale issue at this Sandals that to me points to a management issue, and it put a serious damper on our experience. We felt like we were walking on eggshells every day in just trying to get the most basic requests accommodated. If we asked a question or placed an order, would the person ignore us, snap at us, or be kind? We never knew. Dealing with bad attitudes every day was neither relaxing nor worthy of anywhere near the price we were charged. In fact, it felt as though those who were unkind knew we had already paid so they didn't care how they treated us. The restaurant by the pool nearly made our friends miss the shuttle back to the airport despite their being the first to arrive and order. It took 45 minutes to bring their food as everyone else who arrived after they did was served. We have other (non-Sandals) nice Caribbean vacations to which we can compare this one, and the negativity here stands out clearly. I'm so disappointed. We hoped for a different experience and are now quite skeptical of future Sandals resorts unless someone we know who has stayed at one recommends it.

Very clean, well run resort. We were first timers and we were not sure what to expect but we were happy. It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for, it was top notch all the way. The food and service were excellent. The waves were rough but I like it like that. The drinks were 5 stars also. Would definitely recommend.

An all-around excellent resort with outstanding service. The employees here are the best we've seen at any Sandals...ALL of them are really friendly and take the time to say hi/good morning/etc. They are quick to respond, and they all seem ready to help out regardless of whether it's their specific job to do so.
- There are plenty of restaurants willing to meet your schedule.
- The food is excellent at all of the restaurants with the exception of Chi Asian Fusion (nice people but lousy menu).
- The beach towels are removed from unused loungers on a fair schedule, and loungers are plentiful at the beach and the pools.
- Finally, a special thanks to housekeeping (our room was kept nicely clean, and the fridge was well stocked with all of the items that we asked for).
The only negative comment might be that the beach is not good for swimming or snorkeling. The view is absolutely beautiful, it's really nice to walk on, there are plenty of shade trees and umbrellas, and beach vendors are kept safely off property by security. It's just not a swimmer's beach.

My wife and I booked in for five nights all inclusive at the start of March. We had notified the hotel of our arrival time which was 11 AM and when we arrived our room was ready for us, this was unexpected but a nice surprise. The staff were really welcoming and helpful, helped with our bags and showed us around the room.
Room - the room was excellent, really spacious and clean with lovely modern furniture. It was made up of two separate rooms, the main bedroom and a separate room with a two seater sofa that went out on to our ground floor patio. There were separate TVs in both rooms. The mini fridge was stocked with beers soft drinks which you could ask to be replaced. The aircon was good quality with separate units in the two rooms.
The bed was incredibly comfortable, really big with really high-quality soft sheets and pillows, perfect for us.
The bathroom was spacious with a bath and a shower. The shower was big with very nice toiletries. The shower was so lovely it was like being at a spa. A nice touch was the automatic night lights behind the mirror and along the floor.
There was plenty of storage space with a double wardrobe, large chest of drawers and side cabinets.
Food - We found the food a bit hit and miss, when we arrived we were told it was buffet every day except Sunday and Wednesday, but then during the stay it seemed completely random. The all day menu was quite nice with decent variety and this was served as à la carte most lunchtimes. There was always a pre-order menu at breakfast plus a buffet. We had the à la carte menu on three of the five evenings and it was OK, but we didn’t think the buffet was that good. We had spent the previous 5 days eating around the island and the food was excellent wherever we went, so it was a little disappointing when an expensive hotel wasn’t as good quality. The drinks were also very weak. Given the history of rum on the island you think you’d be able to taste the rum in the cocktails. My wife doesn’t drink a lot but even she found the cocktails incredibly weak. The cocktails were very nice though, we just needed to ask for more rum.
Staff and service -Again we found the staff and service a bit mixed. Housekeeping was excellent throughout, including the cleaning and the turndown service, the room was always immaculate. The restaurant and bar staff were a bit mixed depending on the individual, with some being very friendly and fun and others bordering on rude and clearly not wanting to be there.
The communal areas in the hotel were quite nice if a little small, but they were always sun beds available somewhere at any time during the day around the pool or overlooking sea. The beach is directly accessible from the hotel via stairs and is a very nice beach. We took our own snorkeling equipment and used it every day with lots of sea life and tropical fish over the reef and rocks right outside the hotel.
I think the experience at Treasure Beach would have been better if the sister hotels were open. When we were there all but Waves were closed for refurbishment, there was a water taxi back-and-forth to Waves, which finished around 3 PM so we could only visit for lunch, not dinner which was the weakest meal at Treasure Beach. If the others were open, it would have given us a bit more variety in space and restaurants in walkable distance.
Overall we had a lovely time, enjoying the amazing sunsets that cast different patterns across the sky every night, enjoying the accommodation and swimming with the sea life. There’s definitely some room for improvement though given the price range for this hotel.

Really impressed with the hotel however we found the majority of the staff rude , rolling their eyes in front of us & behind guests backs … we are a friendly polite & sociable couple but this made no difference to the waiting staff & supervisor at breakfast, lunch & dinner . Destiny ,front of house was amazing & new so I hope she won’t get tarnished by the older staff who clearly don’t respect the clients . We also had a hand written tip added to one of our dinner bills which we forgot to add to …… not impressed. We will not return to to just the attitude of the staff …. Such a shame

Had a brilliant stay at Treasure Beach. Rooms were excellent, staff were amazing and we felt very well taken care of.
Minor building works ongoing until August 2018 which the hotel handled well, very generously providing complimentary dinners to compensate us for the very slight inconvenience.
We would definitely stay there again.

Not the luxury resort we were expecting. From the onset the reception staff was not accommodating. They ranged from pleasant but not helpful to a bit surly. The service staff on the other hand was very pleasant. Two of the pools were attractive but because of their odd shapes were not meant for swimming, just dipping. The third was on a rooftop and small, but cozy. While the food was included, it was only available during certain hours. If you missed the breakfast or lunch hour the only option was a grab and go cellophane wrapped sandwich or granola. Rooms and internal hallways were stark and on the industrial side but the bed was comfortable and the shower large and accommodating. Apparently they have a shortage of towels and we could never get the additional wash cloths we requested. Because of its location the waters here are choppy, not the calm Caribbean Sea we looked forward to. Also, the resort is located in a very crowded somewhat run down part of Barbados. In the past we stayed in the area north of Bridgetown and that is where we would go in the future.

My boyfriend and I spent 5 nights here and it was very relaxing and enjoyable. We are on vacation to really unwind and relax. This place is perfect for this kind of vacation. There are some small things to do everyday but overall lounging by the pool and the beach was our main activity. There is live music most nights until 10pm which we enjoyed with dinner. The resort does not seem overcrowded even though it’s on the smaller side, as far as an all inclusive resorts go. The food absolutely blew us away. Oro, the fine dining restaurant was very delicious and the staff really seemed to take pride in their work. Even the buffets were great! For an all inclusive we were suprised at the diversity of the dining experiences and the quality of the food. Our bartender Davitri really stood out. He made us specialized cocktails at the bar a few nights and again seemed to love his craft. This personable experience really heightened our stay. The room was ocean front with gorgeous views. The only remark I will make is some of the staff that served us on the beach/pool seemed to be bothered that we were ordering drinks. A little strange but it did not damper our experience in Barbados. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we will be coming back!

Like many of the reviews here, our experience at O2 was mixed. Some elements of our stay were exceptional but others needed improvement.
Our visit began with the free shuttle from the airport not showing up. When I called the resort they said that, even though I told them our flight information and arrival time in advance, it was our fault that we did not explicitly ask them to arrange a shuttle for our arrival. The taxi cost us $35USD and there was no offer to reimburse us.
We were booked into a ground level room looking out to the noisy pool bar with little privacy. The room smelled damp and mildewy like a basement. After complaining, this was rectified and we were moved to a much better room up on the third floor.
The hectic ride from the airport and room ordeal started our 8-day vacation on a low note. Things got better from there forward.
The layout of the rooms have the bedrooms set far in the back, away from windows. Therefore, bedrooms don't get very much natural light and there is no way to open a window for fresh air. Most of the rooms face out to picturesque south ocean views with great sunsets (late January).
The food and service in the restaurants was excellent. Generally, we had no difficulty booking reservations that worked with our schedule. Favourites included the Lamb Chops, soups, and Lobster Tail. If meals are important to you you will not be disappointed with this resort.
Housekeeping was okay but there were several details that were disappointing; two days we didn't receive fresh towels; restocking of the fridge was inconsistent; and an empty wine bottle sat in the hallway outside our room for five days before someone noticed it and removed it.
The footprint of the resort is small, so the layout of the pools, lounges and restaurants is a bit crowded and cramped.
The resort is located in a busy hotel district called St Lawrence Gap. There isn’t much to see outside the resort but it did feel safe for morning runs and short afternoon walks.
It seemed like the resort was mainly catering to UK guests. 90 percent were older couples and there were very few families with young children.
Generally, the mood was quiet and conservative with very little party liveliness. One night we decided to actually dance to the live music while the rest of the guests just stared at us. Afterwards, the lead singer actually approached us to tell us how much she appreciated us being on the dance floor during her performance which seemed to support how unusual dancing is at this resort.
The mood of the resort is also set by a general apathetic attitude amongst the majority of the staff (with exceptions!). They didn’t seem to enjoy their work and appeared stressed and tired. For example, I learned to avoid ordering drinks from the beach servers because they always appeared put out whenever I asked for anything. It was safer and less stressful to just walk over to the bar myself and fetch my own drinks.
Overall, the resort is generally clean, well maintained and has excellent restaurants. However, more attention needs to be paid to maintenance details, housekeeping and the attitudes of staff.

I am incredibly disappointed with the management of the Elegant chain . We had a confirmed booking at Waves Barbados, but they changed our hotel last minute, offering us their sister property, The Coral then The House etc. This was extremely inconvenient and caused a lot of stress as we had planned everything around staying at Waves.
To make matters worse, communication was dreadful. They took ages to reply to our emails, leaving us in the dark and anxious about our accommodation. This level of service is unacceptable, especially given the reputation and cost of staying at such an establishment.
I sincerely hope our stay improves, but this has left a very bad taste in our mouths.
Avoid if you want a hassle-free vacation.

Stayed for our honeymoon. It started great, The staff were very friendley, and the views are superb.
However management descided our honeymoon is unimportant. They overbooked the hotel, someone did a buyout. We were forced to pack and move nexdoor to a different hotel with minimal notice, and no compensation. We were not told at check-in. I would warn against long trips here. We would have just cut the honeymoon a day shorter if we had any notice.
Worst part is leaving a sour tasts at the end of what was supposed to be a fantastic honeymoon. Not shure we will be returning.
UPDATE: This hotels management is a nightmare. Even Marriot had a hard time reaching the house to resolve our issues.
We managed to get a partial refund after months of hounding. We won't ever visit here again. And you sould stay someplace else.

One of the best hotels on the island! For an all inclusive hotel it is really a great place. Not the typical tourist trap... Will book it again next time I come ;) all rooms are right at the beach, turtles came by at night to nest. The food was delicious and they have two more properties next door, where you can eat as well.
Rooms always cleaned up and fresh towels. Just perfect. Also no kids! So good to be in silence and enjoy the atmosphere

The House was a wonderful situated boutique hotel on the most beautiful beach. The staff was very attentive and very sweet. A shout out to Andrew and Kobie (spelling on Kobie). They were great at their jobs and were so personable. The food was great and the bar was always hoping. From oysters and champagne on the beach to the rum punch being served beach side, we had a fabulous time.

My husband and I stayed at this resort for our Anniversary. We were very disappointed in the customer service. They gave us a room that did not lock. Only the first door locked not the second door that’s used to enter the room. We had to push furniture up against the door to feel safe the first night because no one could help us. The next day we communicated with them about our door not locking so they assured us it would be fixed. My husband and I went back to our room after being provided a different key. The door was already unlocked so we assumed the key was working. We left back out for awhile and upon entering our room the second door did not lock. We made CS aware and they again told us they had it fixed. Well my husband seen the staff climb over the balcony and went in thru the patio door to unlock the door so we could enter our room. Once again no one was available to fix the lock. Again we had to push furniture up to the door to feel safe. Next issue the room had a smell. It reminded me of a sewer smell. We asked staff if we could change rooms and they told us the resort was sold out. So we was forced to stay in that room with sewer smell. Lastly, we scheduled a massage a week before arrival. When we went down to the spa no one was there. We waited there almost an hour an no one showed. They finally told us the lady who works in the spa called in. I asked why weren’t notified instead of wasting an hour of our day sitting here. No one had an answer for us. Our Anniversary trip was ruined. Not to mention the amount of money spent to get to Barbados
