5 stars for our experience here!! From the beautiful ocean front master suite with a sunrise view, to the incredible service - thank you to Josie and our “butler” Daniel for being so incredible and attentive — and to all the staff who worked non-stop. Service was top notch! The rooms and were very clean but the pools did get cloudy at times and I wish they were ALL heated in the winter months! We really could only use the activity pool, but luckily that’s what our kids preferred anyway. The beach was small but fine! They worked hard to remove the seaweed daily. We left with no complaints and a great time!

My fiancé and I book a trip to Cancun every year ( different resorts) for our anniversary and we decided on this one this year. I will say we were both very impressed! All the reviews we read were very negative. The food was very good, the place was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The only downfall is we do not have kids and I will say this is a more family/children friendly resort. If we ever went to the same resort, I would definitely book this one again. Pablo at the swim up bar was top notch! Don't ever get rid of him

Loved every single detail about this resort! Staff are incredibly aware and are constantly checking in on guests to ensure you are experiencing the best time. The resort layout is beautiful and offers many different pools if you are wanting to switch up scenery. The restaurants are incredible; we had the opportunity to try each restaurant and they kept getting better. We became close with some staff, namely Diego at the Sport’s Bar, Henry at the outdoor lobby bar and Agustin at La Parrilla - they are the best and so, so good at what they do. We were very sad to part ways with our new friends! Overall, this resort is absolutely beautiful and we had the best time. We will definitely be recommending HZ Riviera Cancun to our friends and family!!!

Headed out from a wonderful stay at Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun. The building is quite stunning and it had many amenities to make your stay enjoyable. We booked this location for 5 nights as a birthday getaway. Our room looked over a quieter pool which only down fall was the distance from any bars. The last 2 days of our stay someone did end up coming by to service the pool luckily. The restaurants do close occasionally so I recommend downloading the app. Food is what really lowers the review for me. As someone who previously stayed at a Royalton, the food was much more Canadian/American there. The food here could use some improvements on quality but understandable it is Mexico. Overall, fantastic staff who cater to you, are kind, and make you feel at home. We received many birthday trinkets so definitely mention your celebration if there is one. I would definitely come back!

I normally don’t write reviews while I’m still at a resort, but this one needs to be done. I’m currently still here, and I absolutely do not recommend anyone to book this place. The reviews you’ve read about the issues here are completely TRUE.
No Beach
Let’s start with the beach—or rather, the lack of one. There is no real beach at this resort. The area they call a beach is dirty, with barely any sand, making it unusable. To make matters worse, instead of properly cleaning up the seaweed, the staff sweeps it back into the water, making the situation even worse. It’s misleading to even advertise this resort as having a beach because there’s essentially nothing here to enjoy.
Pool Chaos
The pool situation is an absolute nightmare. Guests “reserve” chairs by placing towels or belongings on them as early as 8 AM, and the resort staff does nothing about it. Finding a spot near the pool is impossible unless you’re willing to pay $100 for a cabana, which feels like a cash grab. Even the “adults-only” pool is poorly managed—it has about 10 chairs total, and they’re all claimed by 7 AM with towels or books left on them.
Disastrous New Year’s Eve
Last night was New Year’s Eve, and it was the worst experience ever. For the past six years, we’ve gone to various resorts during the holidays, and the celebrations have always been incredible. Not here. Hyatt Ziva charged guests extra for tables and dinner. Since we didn’t pay for this, we ended up sitting on beach chairs in the lawn area—hardly the festive celebration we were hoping for. It felt cheap and poorly planned, completely lacking the elegance and excitement we’ve seen at other resorts.
Mediocre Food
The food is just average, nothing memorable or worth the price tag. We’ve had far better dining experiences at other resorts for much less money.
Overall
We’ve spent over $6,000 for this trip, and I can honestly say it’s been a huge disappointment. Between the lack of a beach, the pool chair chaos, the disastrous New Year’s Eve celebration, and the mediocre food, this resort doesn’t come close to living up to the hype or its price point.
I don’t recommend Hyatt Ziva Cancun to anyone. Save your money and book somewhere else—you’ll thank me later.

We just got back from a trip to Tulum, staying at Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya, and it was a fantastic experience! The resort is smaller, but we loved the intimate feel and the fact that it’s in a gated community. The employees were incredibly kind and made our stay even better. Our room was spacious, super clean, and housekeeping always made sure we had everything we needed.
Our 4-year-old had the time of his life, especially enjoying the relaxing beach and unlimited ice cream from the coffee shop! While the food could be improved, we appreciated the variety of options, from Asian and Italian to Mexican and seafood. The drinks were also great, and upgrading to their preferred membership gives you access to top-shelf liquor if you want to splurge a bit.
Overall, it was a great family-friendly getaway, and we’d definitely recommend it to friends and family planning a trip to Mexico!

My experience at the resort was disappointing for several reasons. First, the staff constantly followed our group around, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. The resort seemed to monitor everyone very closely, which gave off a strange vibe. My husband left the resort once, and gave his room number, while I stayed. I then got three strange phone calls with no one on the other line. Another time my husband came out of the shower in a towel and a man who worked there was standing in our room asking for dirty dishes. The keys could break into any room. We tried using our Visa card when we left our key once and have a video of it working no problem to get in. There was also no nightlife to speak of, so if you wanted to relax with a drink anywhere after a certain time, the staff acted strangely, even if you were quiet. One of the biggest complaints from my group was that no drinks were served after 1 PM, despite what was stated on the website. I had made sure to confirm this when we booked, and I had assumed everything was clear, but this caused some frustration.
As for the wedding, the planner was extremely unhelpful. I had sent multiple emails with a detailed sheet for the wedding vows we wanted to say, as my husband has a speech disability, and some words are difficult for him. Even though the planner had the sheet, when it came time for the ceremony, they only made me repeat the vows we made and not my husband. Instead, he was asked to say something else entirely, which completely ruined the experience for him. I ended up having to coordinate everything on the day of the wedding, while the staff mostly stood around. The transitions were not smooth, and the entire experience was far from what we had hoped for.
To make matters worse, the resort had a pre-planned beach show with loud fire dancers starting at 8 PM. This disrupted our wedding, as the resort guests essentially crashed the event. The noise and chaos ruined the romantic ambiance, and I ended up in tears.
Our room upgrade also fell short of expectations. The outdoor tub was broken, and despite promises of outdoor beds, the staff denied ever mentioning them. The resort itself felt more suited for families or older guests. The disco was another letdown, with only one bartender who made drinks incredibly slowly, and stunk like throw up the entire two weeks.
Overall, we were disappointed with the entire experience, especially for such an important event like our wedding.

We stayed at this Dreams Adventuras Riviera Maya from Feb 20-27 we upgraded to the preferred club, upon arrival we were greeted by Paulina the concierge, I give her a 10/10 she is so accommodating took us up to our room answered any questions we had and made us feel at home. She was available to answer any questions and booked our transfers back to airport for us.
We booked with Dreams because we have experience the brand on 3 different occasions at different resorts and like the consistency of amenities. The staff are attentive, friendly and always offered exceptional service. They do not offer an adult only pool with the preferred upgrade.
We loved the marina village Puerto Adventuras so many food options, bars, coffee shops all within a gated community very safe a 3 minute walk from resort.
The food wasn't the quality we experienced at Dreams Vista Cancun which is newer and offers exceptional amenities and food options well worth the preferred upgrade as they offer an incredible adult only club rooftop infinity pool with exceptional views.

Similar experience to other hotels of the same brand, it'sgood but it used to be better.
It feels that the rooms are getting old, a few things were missing at the room, the TV was flickering, etc.
The service is amazing as every other secrets or dreams, but the "preferred" area was as crowded as the normal area, I really didn't see any benefit. The preferred beach had no shade, and the preferred pool area was a constant fight to get a space to lay down and very few places with shade.
I do still recommend this chain but this time felt like I'm paying more for less...

It's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. That's most of the nice things about it.
The building is old and our room, while nice, had a strong mold smell which I think I was allergic to. Being in the room was uncomfortable and unpleasant. so much so that our last night there I slept in the balcony!
This hotel is showing its age. It often felt crowded with nowhere to sit at the beach or at the pool. Annoying people would get up at the crack of dawn and "claim" their spot by placing a towel and then leaving it unattended for hours, preventing anyone else from using it. What jerks!
Most of the beach loungers were old and broken.
The beach was nice but kind of small and the lagoon was pretty rocky. The nightly shows were fun and entertaining.
The "exclusive" areas were just as crowded and annoying.
We really enjoyed the spa. That place is magical, although their hydrotherapy is kind of lame compared to other places. I did receive one of the best massages I've ever had there.
Drinks were also a highlight, very good margaritas.
Their main strength is their staff, everyone we came in contact with was excellent and made us feel welcome.
Overall I'll be sure to avoid the brand in the future.

I enjoyed my stay here. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. They had a nice variety at the buffets, but basically had the same thing almost every day for breakfast. There’s an omelette station that you can stand in line and get omelettes made. Make reservations for steak house. We did tip the waiters at the restaurants that we went to A couple of dollars. We could not go in to the water which was so beautiful. The surf was too rough, but we reserved an outside bed and chairs at the Cocoa beach Facility and it was really nice with private pool and waiters to wait on you for $60. You got snacks and one free meal and the meals were delicious. They like to close at 6 o’clock so you might wanna get supper at four or 5 o’clock. The staff at all areas were very nice. Just make sure you make arrangements for car service from the airport to the facility. There’s people waiting for you when you come out of the airport and they charge a lot to go 6 miles. We refuse to pay $60. Just pay for one way and then you could get a cab from the resort for $35 to the airport when you’re ready to leave. Make sure you get receipts too! If you can make reservations online, that’s the best bet because you won’t pay as much when you get there.

Amazing! This was my spot 20 years ago. I almost didn't book it after reading the reviews. Rooms are clean! Beds are really comfy! Left my airpods on my bed, expected to never see them again. Was happy when I came back the room was clean and they put my airpods on the dresser! Pretty great that you can trust all your belongings to be safe. Also the food here is absolutely amazing! I stayed in the pyramid and had the black wrist band. But I honestly can't say enough good about the food. There was tons of options. Very happy with this place. I'll be back!

This hotel is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. My friends and I were a little nervous day one but ended up having a great time. There are beds available for rent at the beach club with private pools with an ocean side view. Those do require you pay for “bottle service” but it’s very worth it.
The staff was kind and we’re definitely motivated by tips, not complaining!
I probably wouldn’t want to bring my family here, definitely geared more towards a younger audience.
The food was meh but there were plenty of options. One night we did upgrade and had a lovely sushi dinner!
I was most worried about having water but they do provide it upon request and it’s available for purchase at the gift shop.
If you’re balling on a budget this is a good place to go!

My family and I recently enjoyed a week-long stay at The Grand Oasis Cancun All-Inclusive Resort, and it was a fantastic getaway that earned a solid 4 stars from us! The service was truly amazing—the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and catered to our every need with genuine smiles and efficiency. They were the clutch players of this trip, ensuring we had a blast. The all-inclusive package was a huge plus, with plenty of food and drink options, and the beachfront setting was perfect for unwinding under the sun. That said, it’s impossible not to notice the wear and tear this place has endured. Old Father Time has clearly left his mark—the rooms felt dated, with peeling paint and tired furniture, and the facilities could use a major refresh to match the resort’s potential. It didn’t ruin our trip by any means, but it’s a noticeable flaw in an otherwise great experience. We’d happily return if they invest in some updates, because the staff and vibe are top-notch. For now, it’s a 4-star spot that’s weathered but still worth a visit!

Grand Oasis Cancun Review – Not Worth It.
Welcome to a world where you will spend half your vacation standing in line!
I recently stayed at Grand Oasis Cancun, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re an 18-24-year-old spring breaker looking for a non-stop party. Here’s why:
Food (3/10)
The buffet selection was terrible—low-quality food, barely any variety, and nothing that actually tasted good. No room service available, and if you wanted a snack, you had to endure long lines at the snack bar, which wasn’t worth the wait.
Room & Cleanliness (4/10)
The room was far from clean. Stains on the bed sheets and drapes, air conditioning that only worked half the time, and to top it off—cockroaches in the bathtub. The mini-bar was never restocked, so don’t expect anything beyond the first day.
Staff Friendliness (7/10)
Most of the staff were friendly, but the buffet and snack bar employees clearly didn’t want to be there. The front desk was completely useless and offered no help with any issues.
Drinks & Alcohol Quality (2/10)
If you’re expecting decent drinks, forget it. The beer was flat, and the liquors for mixed drinks tasted like soap or cheap bottom-shelf leftovers.
Only one bar open at 11 am by the pool. Pool bar open around 12-1pm
Overall Experience
This hotel is a nightmare unless you’re just here to drink and party all day. If you want a clean, comfortable, and enjoyable vacation, stay somewhere else.

Disappointing Experience at Grand Oasis Hotel
While the resort itself is beautiful, with a fantastic beach and pool area, my stay at the Grand Oasis Hotel was disappointing due to several issues with the room and service.
Check-in was smooth, and I initially asked if the band I was given meant I was all-inclusive. I was told it did, as it would allow me access to food and drinks. However, things started to go downhill when we entered our room. As soon as we walked down the hallway, there was a noticeable smell of mold, and it only got worse once we entered the room. The room itself appeared clean, but it had a strong moldy odor, and the TV didn’t work.
When we went to eat at a restaurant, we were told that it wasn’t included with our band, and I had to pay for the meal. At that point, I was too tired and hungry to argue, so I just paid. Afterward, we went to guest services to clarify the all-inclusive options, and that’s when we were informed there are three different types of all-inclusive packages at the resort—something that was never explained to us upon check-in. It was only after paying for the meal that we decided to upgrade our bands so we could access all the resort’s areas.
The food at the buffet was consistently cold, and there weren’t many options for pescatarians. Buffet breakfast wasn’t great, but lunch and dinner were the worst. I often had to make a reservation at a restaurant to get a decent meal.
The next issue came with the shower. It was clogged, and the water overflowed into the bathroom, creating a mess. The mold smell persisted, and I had to use shower shoes because I didn’t feel comfortable stepping barefoot in the shower. The shower also didn’t have doors, which made the situation even worse.
We reported the problems to customer service, and while they were polite, nothing was done to address the issues. It took four days for the TV to finally start working, and no one ever came to fix the shower. We just learned to manage it by turning the water on and off to prevent the overflow, but it never fully stopped.
The resort staff were lovely, and I have to say the outdoor areas like the pool and beach bars were great. Unfortunately, the rooms are outdated and in need of major repairs. We spent most of our time outside, avoiding the room unless it was time to sleep.
Overall, while the location and amenities outside were nice, the room conditions, lack of communication about the all-inclusive options, and disappointing food left a lot to be desired.

I'm not fussy but was mislead to this place. The tvs don't work and the pools are a challenge to get in and out of. The buffets aren't that great. They have an app to book reservations for sit down dining but that is a challenge also. I woke up at 730 to make a reservation and was told to wait until 8 am and then was told in the app nothing was available. The shower has glass doors and my daughter could see my boyfriend taking a shower if she really wanted to because half the wall is in glass block where you shower. So here I am at 11pm at night still waiting for them to fix my tv since 6pm, so I can at least watch my static tnt station which is the only one that sometimes works. I will not be coming back here. I spent too much money on this trip and I'm not paying them a sent to wash my underwear. I was told they had laundry facility meanwhile they don't. So if you plan on coming make sure you pack enough clothes for the week. A motel 8 is better then this. I would of rather stayed home with my easy to get into pool, my working tv, my washing machine, and microwave. What a waste.

Plus:
- the dinning restaurants are excellent. Makitaco and los agaves especially perfect. The white box was ok too.
We really appreciated our "le petit chef" experience too and the food there.
- cleaners are very good and keep the room and bathroom very clean.
- the main pool at the sense is really beautiful
- the shows were not exceptionnel but good and the music every evening at 10 pm was great.
Cons:
- pools are really not clean
- even if there are a lot of choices on the 3 buffets, nothing is very good. And we got the food poisoning (bad one, all the family of 5), in the first 24 hours, when we only ate at the buffet at this moment.
- the room leaked because of the AC, and part of the celling was falling off
- the beach is small and not really beautiful. You can smell fuel from the boat.
- avoid the pirate boat tour that is included with grand oasis palm package. It was 45 min, and we didnt even left the port. Time lost.
- the worst is the noise. This resort is for parties. Not to relax at all. The dj every day by the pool is very loud and not good. And you can not avoid it at all because the beach is close and small. Our room has a good view on the ocean but also on the dj and the walls are old so the noise is loud there too. So you really can NOT avoid it and relax.
- there was also construction when we were here...
- the people are on party mode at all times and don't care... so they scream at all times in the ressort, even at 2 am, 4 am... 6 am... anytime. Forget to sleep.
Finally, we will NEVER come back.

Update: We're on day 2 and the staff has been putting obvious effort into improving the quality of our stay.
We're not even through day one yet and it's been absolutely TERRIBLE!! We were sent to a dirty room after a timely wait and VERY poor drinks from the bar. Please note that the room was literally dirty from the previous guest. Guests services was quick to give me a different room. However it is not the king room that I booked. Instead they pushed two beds together to make a "king" bed. I'm at a loss in the first half the day at this resort.
NOTE!!! Bring food if you do book here. We have yet to eat today after the craziness.

Food is not good. We went out to eat most of the time. Make sure you have the right colored bracelet because you won't be allowed at any of the restaurant but the shitty buffet and hot dog stand.
No fridge in the rooms
1 bottle of water at the beginning to brush our teeth but they never brought more.
Bunch of losers love to wake up early and put towels on all the chairs around the pool and beach in case they go that day to have a spot. So not enough place to sit.
Wait line for everything.
I will not come back here, and I definitely do NOT recommend it to anyone.

Our relatively low maintenance family traveled in late March with a 1y/o and 6 y/o. The staff are amazing, there are gems in the food, the beds are hard, location is great, and the beach is beautiful. Daily, there are staff all over the resort working hard to promptly address cosmetic or guest issues. This resort is a FAMILY Resort - great stuff for kids under 10. Here are my tips:
- Lower your expectations, this place for the price is 100% worth it.
- Tip your servers, housekeepers/beverage guy, and bartenders, etc. - especially when they go above and beyond (we had some great ones).
- Bring a lidded tumbler (and a straw if you need one) and they will FILL it.
- Plan which restaurants to go to on which nights and check the schedule for closures.
- Watch for fresh sushi to come out at the Japanese lunch buffet (the vegetarian one was really good when fresh).
- Line up 10 earlier than opening (at 5:30) at Fishmans and Piazza (no reservations needed) if you need to eat early (RE 1 y/o with a 7pm bed time)
- Food experiences: Order breaded/friedfish and ceviche at Fishmans. Order the Crab Cake (its a croquet) at Waynes Boots (or skip that restaurant), chicken fajitas/taco trio at the Mexican weren’t much to look at, but tasted ok. The cornbread dessert (amazing) and the green soup (Mexican) were good. The butter, the french onion soup, and the filet at the french place were good. I mostly skipped the poolside grill except the chips and queso.
- Order the chicken club sandwich with fries and chicken tenders from room service, it was one of the best things we ate.
- Get you daily ice cream at the Palapa (big buffet)!
- Find the convention center for breakfast - all the staff were amazing and the food felt so fresh when we arrived right at 8. The best meal everyday.
- Go to the coffee bar behind the elevator for a machine cappuccino, drip coffee, and shortbread cookies in the afternoon.
- Find Jesus (the bellman)- he made the visit very smooth and you got to love him.
- Put a rolled up towel in front of the door to keep the noise out and the AC in, try to avoid a room directly over the inside bar/pool and if you go to bed early. So loud!
- Get up early to reserve a chair at the if you want one - we never got one and this should be addressed but the management team. It’s making people hate this resort and so many empty “reserved” chairs!
- Visit the towel hut to get golf clubs or soccer balls for some fun.
- Bring all the things for kids: Life jackets, floties, googles, dive toys, and kids insulated/straw cups.
- Use Costco $120 Credit on a short 20 min massage (Margarita was amazing), laundry, room service fees, or lobster (or wine too?).

The most important thing I would like to mention is this was the first time we had to use the resort Dr. and I can't say enough amazing things about the Dr. Hernandez and her assistant. They were amazing, quick to get into, very knowledgeable, quick response and really cared.
Now onto the resort, this is a great budget friendly resort. Italian, Mexican and Steakhouse restaurants were very good. Beach and pools were nice especially the indoor pool in case you get too much sun. The rooms do need updating.
Our biggest complaint is that the WIFI is very spotty, we even had a hard time using it on our balcony, on the beach, in the restaurants or by the pools. We unplugged for the week but it made it difficult to make reservations at the restaurants, texting our children or listening to music.

Luis, Joseph and many others took amazing care of us! Our room was beautiful, overlooked the ocean, 2 balcony, a hammock and jacuzzi. Great for families! The food was what we expected, like most other all inclusive resorts we have visited in Mexico. However, we planned to spend a few nights in town with the family, and the kids loves Senor Frogs. We also had the best taxi driver, Eduardo, thay brought us to an amazing Mexican restaurant, and was always happy to meet us whenever we needed a ride.

Wonderful stay!! Great food and ambience. Rooms were clean and well equipped. We were very well looked after. Must mention the wonderful 'Tom & Jerry' (Maria) in the breakfast lounge. Their warmth made the morning extra special. Loved seeing Luigi Estrada( Michael Jackson impersonator) and his troop perform. It was a surprise for us, really amazing.

Stayed here with my family with 2 kids.
This resort is good for families with children. Your kids will have a blast, especially at the kids water park and big slides. However if you are traveling without kids, you may want to consider another resort, unless you are booking here because you found a great price. This resort is very busy, and swarming with little ones.
The rooms are quite outdated and you can expect to complain about something unless you are lucky to get a room with no issues. As for me, my mini fridge and lock safe were not working but once we reported the issues they were resolved same day. If you need to call reception from your room, they almost never answer the phone which can be frustrating. But I imagine this may be because of the high number of guests and outdated rooms which results in tons of calls and they cannot answer them all.
The lunch/dinner buffet food quality/selection is not the greatest but also not the worst and I was always able to fill my plate with some options that I enjoyed. Your kids will have no complaints about the food as they provide everything that kids love to eat. Breakfast buffet is actually great and provides everything you would expect. A la carte restaurants are also quite good and I have no complaints other than you need to book them each morning at 8am. They have 2 snack bars near the pools. No complaints about drinks.
Service is very good as I only encountered friendly and hard working service all week. The nightly shows were very entertaining.
One thing you will find frustrating is that lounge chairs get reserved by guests very early in the morning. If you want a chance at having a lounge chair you will need to place your towel on a chair by 7am max. If you want a lounge chair under shaded spot, those get fully booked by around 6am and sometimes earlier. It would make sense if this resort could enforce a rule that booking lounge chairs is not allowed.
In summary, if you are travelling with kids and if their enjoyment is a priority, then go ahead and book this resort. The fun they have will be worth the few small complaints the parents may have.
If no kids, then you may want to keep looking for a more relaxing or upscale resort, if thats what you are looking for. As for me and my family, we enjoyed our week here and have no regrets in booking this resort. We appreciate all the hard working and friendly staff in this resort.

Please don’t trust the amazing reviews this property has, this is a 3 star resort being veryyy generous. Today is my last day staying here but since I checked in the first day and arrived at the buffet I knew I made a mistake. I would’ve cancelled my reservation had their policy allowed, but, since I was already checked in, they wouldn’t give my money back at this point. Last year I stayed at Breathless Cancun which was one of the best resorts I have ever stayed, and they were listed as a 4.5 stars. When I booked for this year at Princess, which was in the same price range and “5 stars,” I thought I would get the same level of service or better. The food is horrible everywhere, the buffet is so dark that sometimes you can’t even see what you are getting. The orange juice is water, sugar and a splash of orange. No natural juice. The food at the buffet is like Golden Corral but to make it worse, things are almost always cold, even if you get there at opening time. The other restaurants are all mediocre as well, except for Rodeo which has a decent steak. The drinks are made with the chepeast liquor you will ever see unless you ask for something different. They wont give you bottled water anywhere, you only get 3 a day in your room and you will have to refill it with their water for the rest of the day. This is something unheard of in Mexico, during my other stays I would even brush my teeth with bottled water, but not this time. The property is a nice size, with lots of pools, but it is very old and not well kept. The room smell soo bad, a mix of mold and sewer. I am allergic to mosquito bites, but I read on their website that they spray the property everyday, which is probably not true since every night just from walking from my room to dinner I would get 5 mosquito bites at least. The beach has some nice seating area but don’t expect to be able to go in the ocean, it is full of rocks and seaweed, making it impossible to walk. There is nowhere around the property a place to pick up beach towels or drop off wet towels; you can only get them from your room.. and I guess you have to take the wet ones back to your room again? The entertainment at the pool is so repetitive; each activity lasts one hour.. who wants to be taking dancing classes under the 90F heat for one hour? 30 min each session would be more than enough. This list could go on for many pages, but I think you can have an idea of what this resort is like. Maybe if I had paid $100 a night I could tolarate these things but not for $300+ a night.

This resort was fantastic! We had a swim up room and it was awesome! I would highly recommend it! The restaurants were good! The Buffet and The Japanese were my favorite! The staff were all fantastic, so kind and friendly!
Biggest downfall THE BEACH is all rocky. You risk breaking your ankle trying to go in. It is lovely to look at, though. The Grill by the beach has amazing hamburgers. You have to try them!

DO NOT BOOK – HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I booked my honeymoon at Platinum Yucatan Princess Resort in Cancun through Cheap Caribbean, and it was an absolute nightmare. We used the honeymoon package promo code, expecting the promised inclusions, but all we received was a bottle of champagne and four small dessert bites—nothing else was set up in the room.
The resort itself was dirty and poorly maintained. Many outdoor beds by the pool were closed for repairs and painting, leaving limited space to relax. The hallways were messy, our room had a horrible odor, and the bathroom had water damage with moldy buildup. We even had an ant problem that the front desk never resolved. On top of that, the bed only came with two pillows, and one of my pillowcases had old blood stains—disgusting.
The food and drinks were a disaster. At the taco station, staff handled raw meat without gloves, and only tap water was served at restaurants. The resort also did not provide straws, and the drinks were barely blended, full of huge ice chunks, making them nearly undrinkable.
Unfortunately, I learned the hard way just how unsafe the food was. After eating shrimp at the steakhouse on our first night, I became violently ill, vomiting uncontrollably for hours until I was hospitalized. The doctors diagnosed me with gastroenteritis and confirmed that the shrimp had likely caused the infection. My white blood cell count was dangerously high, and I was forced to pay $5,000 out of pocket for medical care.
When we brought this to the manager, he showed zero concern or accountability. Instead of apologizing, he blamed me and insisted that I must have gotten sick elsewhere—despite the fact that I had only eaten at the resort. He even witnessed me being taken away in an ambulance and still dismissed my experience.
And don’t be fooled by the photos online—they must be either extremely old or heavily photoshopped because this place looks nothing like the pictures. We got completely catfished by the marketing.
What was supposed to be a dream honeymoon turned into a nightmare. This resort is unsanitary, mismanaged, and does not care about guest safety. I strongly advise against booking here—Cheap Caribbean should reconsider promoting this place.
Save yourself the stress, money, and potential health risks—book elsewhere!

This all inclusive was excellent for the price. Large clean rooms with balconies, good service, variety of food options, nice beach. The beach is a fair walk from the furthest rooms and the swimming is not great as the beach becomes very rocky once in the water. Excellent breakfast spread. A good but limited selection at the beach snack bar. The food was very good at the restaurants except one evening we didn’t have such a good experience at the Italian restaurant. The drinks flowed freely, never a problem to get a drink, alcoholic, coffee or whatever, at one of the many bars.

The workers, waiters and waitresses are lovely, they work so hard. Tips for them are much required and appreciated.
Evening entertainment is poor, apart from casino night which was great fun. The main pool is very loud. The surrounding pools are nice but the beach is the place to be! Kayaks are free to use if the sea is calm. Sea temperatures in November are fantastic, 26-27c in the water.
Drinks are nice but some can contain almost too much alcohol.
The buffet restaurant was good, until I got home to the UK and was diagnosed with e-coli, 12 hours after returning to the UK.
Vegetarian options are limited, if you like meat though you will be fine.

Overall, I’d say the resort is pretty mid. They clearly bring in enough money to invest in upgrades and upkeep, but unfortunately, that just isn’t happening.
We stayed on the Sens side, which is supposed to be a slight upgrade from the Grand Oasis—but honestly, it wasn’t anything to rave about. The beds were extremely hard, and we woke up uncomfortable most mornings.
What really stood out—negatively—was the food. Both my mother and my husband came down with food poisoning that lasted over 24 hours. I was extra cautious with what I ate since I’m pregnant, and thankfully avoided getting sick myself, but we weren’t the only ones. Throughout the week, we heard multiple people complain about being sick. In fact, my husband and another woman ate the same meal one night and were both bedridden the next day. He actually ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor because he was so ill.
To be honest, I personally struggled to eat at all during our stay. The food looked unappetizing, and it was hard to stomach knowing how long a lot of it had clearly been sitting out—especially at the buffets. It’s disturbing when things like seafood, cheese, and deli meats are just left out for who knows how long in a warm environment. It made it really hard to trust or enjoy anything.
Like I mentioned before, our bathtub had mold growing on the sides—and when we first arrived, there were stickers stuck on the wall from previous guests. That alone says a lot about how quickly and poorly the rooms are cleaned.
It’s so disappointing because this resort could be amazing. But with the amount of money they’re making per family, there’s really no excuse for the poor quality of food, lack of proper cleanliness, and outdated rooms and beds. We came to Mexico excited for good Mexican food, and we didn’t even get a single taco—seriously!
Now for the positives: the Sens pool was probably our favorite part of the whole stay. The coffee shop was also a nice touch—it had some fresh, yummy treats and ice cream that we enjoyed.
I know this is repetitive, but if you’re questioning whether or not to stay here because of the mixed reviews—trust your gut and book somewhere else. This was our first time booking a resort without a travel agent, and we’ll never make that mistake again.
We usually love to revisit places we’ve stayed at, but this one is absolutely off our list and we would never recommend it to anyone

Great all inclusive resort if you want sand and sun at reasonable prices. My favorite part of the stay was the resort restaurant Akeru. The sushi is out of this world, by far the best sushi I have ever had. The waiter Marco makes this place amazing too. He made us custom drinks to pair with our food and he was above and beyond in his friendly service.

The hotel entryway was beautiful. It led to a false sense of expectation on the modernity of our room. The room was very old. It had chipped floors and very odd odor. Musty and moldy sort of smell. The water had an unpleasant odor as well. My wife didn’t mind it but it bothered me. The staff were fantastic. Everyone was attentive and kind. That was not issue. We were disappointed in how aggressive the sales people were in the hotel. If you’ve ever been to the D.R. in some hotels they’ll have booths set up with people camped out to sell you excursions. We fell for that in the Dominican but not in Mexico. When they finally realized we were not interested they left us alone. We didn’t realize when we booked the room it was connected to another hotel. After walking through the lobby of the other facility we got the sense the hotel was much nicer. That’s only an assumption based on the amenities available in the lobby. I can only assume the rooms were upgraded as well. The buffets were good. The contained a lot of variety. I believe anyone could find something to eat. We didn’t get sick from the buffets. We both ran into issues when we made reservations for the stand alone restaurants in the complex. My wife fell ill after eating a steak and I fell ill after eating shrimp and two different restaurants. She was sick while we were still on vacation where I made it home before I was out down for two days. In photos I want to highlight the beauty so I don’t solely focus on the negatives. We experienced Cancun and I don’t think we will go back. On to the next.

Avoid this hotel! It’s far from a 5-star experience. The hotel is dirty, the staff has a terrible attitude, and they clearly favor locals over foreigners. The food is awful, and you’ll often have to wait in long lines for basic things like coffee or beach chairs. They also don’t refill the minibar after the first day, and room cleaning is hit or miss.
Additionally, they charge hidden fees that are not mentioned on their website, such as a government fee and a service fee, adding an extra $300 to your 7-day stay. The rooms are poorly maintained, with moldy smells and dirty linens. When I complained, the staff ignored me and even told me they didn’t care about bad reviews because they buy good ones.
Over the course of my stay, some servers even offered me drugs or women for the night. One of the names I’ve mentioned in the review made this offer directly to me.
I also found a mustache hair in their pizza. When I told them, they just laughed and smiled, showing no care at all. The next day, when I complained to the supervisor, he acted like he couldn’t care less, listening to me as if I were saying something insignificant and just wanted to get rid of me.
All of a sudden, you wake up, go for breakfast, and see a sign that says the restaurant is closed for maintenance—without any prior notice. You have to go to another restaurant and wait in a long line because two or three of their restaurants are under service, again with no notice. When you complain, they simply ignore you. They don’t care, they don’t listen, and their staff don’t speak English—they only speak Spanish, so when you try to communicate in English, they don’t understand you.
I’m mentioning again, this hotel is good only for people in Cancun, for the local people. This is not good for foreigners.
This hotel ruined my vacation, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Stay away!

We would not return. We did like the location on the beach, it wasn't the Ocean side, but the "lagoon". It was calm, warm and they have hammocks in the water, which are 5/5 comfortable. Could spend the whole day in those hammocks. It is right next to a little channel so you can watch boats all day. There is more rocks on the Sens side of the beach. The grand oasis palms beach definitely is nicer. It is quiet as most people with kids are in the other adjoining resort so that was nice. Don't go see the concierge after checking in. They will tell you where everything is then say you have a welcome gift which is a time share presentation that I heard tons of ppl falling for to get a free massage or ride on the pirate ship. If you do stay here, immediately download their app and put in a request for supper at one of the restaurants as you need a reservation as the buffets suck. The staff are all friendly, I would recommend learning more Spanish than your basic hello and thank you as the resort is definitely catering to Spanish speakers.
Don't let children shower, only bath. They will get burnt by the water. The power went out in the middle of the night and didn't return until supper. No air conditioning!
I got food poisoning. The buffets are so gross and weird. Juices are just flavored water.
You have to download an app to book for supper. There is no evening snacks so eat supper late.
Overall wouldn't recommend and definitely not worth paying more to stay at the Sens rather than the adjoining grand oasis palm.
All activities are next door so if you want to watch shows go next door.
The pool has sharp pieces so watch your knees.
The pillows in the rooms are flatter than a crepe.
If you have a vision impairment or traveling with someone who has any sort of vision impairment then book elsewhere. There are a lot of steps up and down, glass doors, and mirrors everywhere. This didn't bother myself but my spouse has limited vision and this place was hell for him.
From what I can tell it is wheelchair accessible if you need that.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Fives Beach Hotel in Playa Del Carmen, and I can't praise it enough! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the impeccable cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the resort. Every area was absolutely spotless, which made my experience even more enjoyable.
The food and service were truly five-star. The variety and quality of the dining options exceeded my expectations, and every meal was a delight. The staff were incredibly friendly and courteous, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a fantastic experience.
One of the highlights of my stay was the NRG2GO Fitness classes. I particularly loved the yoga and Pilates sessions led by the extremely thoughtful and talented Shyla Hacala. Her expertise and passion for fitness made each class both enjoyable, restorative and rewarding.
Overall, my stay at The Fives Beach Hotel was nothing short of amazing. I can't wait to return and relive this wonderful experience! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious getaway in Playa Del Carmen.

Big resort but beautiful resort! If you really don’t want to run into someone or want alone time, there is plenty of pools and places to avoid people. The grounds are stunning and there is plenty of shade!
Had a great time with Angel and the crew playing volleyball and games around the Teen Pool. (Don’t let the name fool you, it was not a teenage hangout spot - more of the “fun” pool). Adults only was quite, but water was super warm. Don’t sleep on the adults only lunch spot, 10/10 and a hidden gem. Beach pool has the best views but the bar is always crowded.

I had an amazing time at The fives! Vacation was late March. Weather was beautiful, rooms were very clean and spacious with large tub walk in shower and huge balcony. Food options were plenty, private beach was lovely. I eveng got a beach massage by Laura, which was not a part of the Fives resort spa but nonetheless was amazing. Service from staff was top tier especially Erik Bellboy Captain and Russell! They were a pleasure, greeted us with a warm welcome and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. I would highly recommend this resort and will be returning. 10/10!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Fives Hotel, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were thrilled to discover our spacious and beautifully appointed room.
The amenities at The Fives are top-notch. The pools were pristine, and there were plenty of comfortable loungers for relaxing in the sun. The on-site dining options were outstanding, with a variety of delicious dishes that catered to every palate. I especially loved the tropical cocktails at the pool bar!
A special shout-out to Cristina, Elvis, Daniel, and Adrian, who were exceptionally nice and helpful throughout our stay. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to assist made the experience even more enjoyable, and we truly appreciated their efforts to make our stay memorable.
What really stood out, though, was the level of service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and I felt truly pampered throughout our stay. The hotel’s location is also fantastic, providing easy access to local attractions while still feeling like a peaceful oasis.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or just a place to unwind, The Fives Hotel delivers an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to return!

Really nice hotel with amazing food and drinks. Good service in the restaurants. All meals are sit down and served (no buffet) from one of the three restaurants. All inclusive is the way to go here unless you are planning to eat locally (breakfast could run you about 70$ CAD for something pretty simple). Plenty of top shelf liquor and canned/bottled beer (I didn’t use my travel cup here once).
Rooftop infinity pool and restaurant is adults only. There are not many kids here (not much for them to do but swim in the ocean) so they are mostly small children with couples.
We were upgraded to an amazing room with a room level balcony and rooftop balcony with loungers, patio furniture, whirlpool (we did not fill it as the pools were very clean and refreshing and located on our floor). We did see the regular rooms as well which were also very nice. Fridges, sinks, hot plates and counters for food prep if you so desired. Rooms are very clean (as is hotel), comfortable beds and plenty of towels incl. shower gel, shampoo, conditioner etc.
There was sargasm on the beach however they had workers out there 7 days a week clearing it and it wasn’t really an issue. The water is very nice all along the beach and you can walk to anywhere you like to go in. There are also restaurants and bars along the beach you can stop into on your way to the market square.

The location of Fives Oceanfront-Puerto Morelos is excellent. It is walking distance to all of the restaurants and little shops. The beach area is very nice minus the big dumpster you can see out of the window in some of the rooms. If you would like a lounge chair on the beach you will need to get there early. The resort needs to offer more seating on the beach. They have an adult pool and a family pool, both are very cold. Same issue with the seating at the pools, need more. Regarding the rooms the walls are very thin and you can hear the chairs moving around above you. You can also hear the toilets flushing in the other room and conversations from the patio. The patios are big but not private at least the room that we had. Our friends had a balcony that was more private. There is a small kitchen in the rooms but if you would like to cook you will need to rent the pots at $25 for the week. The check-in process was a little confusing because they could not scan my credit card. Then when I got home the credit card that I used there had a charge on it for Amazon Prime Membership. I only used the card at the hotel and to purchase boat ferry tickets. So not sure where the fraud happened at. The staff at the resort was very friendly and helpful with any information on activities. Daniel was helpful with some good destinations on our next stay in Cancun. We did not eat at the resort because there were so many options walking distance away. On the last day I went to get a drink at the outside bar and they had my name wrong in the computer. Kind of scary because I was not sure if another guest had my name on their room and would charge drinks and food to my room. I know the resort can not fix the thin walls but they could do something about the lounge chairs.

While we were at the Fives, a modern, boutique hotel with relaxing and inviting design, the Sargassum season started, weeks earlier than prior years. The upstairs Ki'in rooftop restaurant was also closed during our week for menu redesign (bar and pool still open). We were disappointed that we weren't able to access the beach, and were only allowed 1 restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff was incredibly proactive and service-oriented. When I requested to chat with the Hotel Manager, Octavio came and spoke with me the next morning. He listened carefully to our concerns and sympathized, telling us he had hired a tractor to come that day and remove the Sargossum. He also offered us a wonderful personalized dinner on the rooftop and option to eat from the RoMarley kitchen for dinner as well whenever we want. We've been to many different resorts, Secrets, Hyatt, TRS Coral, and we've never felt listened to like we had with Octavio. It's easy to pretend you have great service online, but very rarely does it actually show in actions. He seems to understand that we (customers at hotel) are the most important part of the experience. Thank you so much. Because of you and your team - Christan (the incredible, incredible chef) Berenice, Cristina, Abraham (x2), Gustavo, Jenny (x2), Sergio, ALL - we will absolutely be back to the Fives. Btw. Puerto Morelos is a 15' walk and a charming, friendly and bustling fishing village! This is an excellent location. Thanks.

I can't say enough good things about The Fives Oceanfront! We hosted our wedding here and it was breathtaking. The staff and service were top tier, and everything exceeded our expectations. Special shout out to Eli at the front desk for his amazing service. He took good care of all our guests. Also, Juliana and Elisandro who coordinated our wedding events were phenomenal as well. Our guests can't stop talking about the amazing time that they had. We will certainly be back every year to celebrate our anniversary. Many thanks to The Fives team for such an amazing experience!

The resort was expensive, I'm glad we were part of the Pyramid luxury side. The outdoors were open and had splendid peacocks. The mix of great beach side and pool was wonderful. The food especially at the walk ups and buffets was average at best. Taking the time to get reservations at the restaurants is a heavy recommendation. We loved Benazuza and Black Sens in particular. The spa services were wonderful as well. Service was up and down with some standout staff and some who clearly didn't want to be there.

My all time favorite vacation stay. The staff was fantastic. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was fantastic. My only 2 complaints..#1 Some college kids started coming and acting rowdy. Luckily it was 2 days before we left so it didn't affect our fun. #2 watch the vendors on the beach. All were nice and respectful but half were selling drugs.

Terrible experience. Dirty moldy rooms that are making us sick, found mold and red wine or blood on my pillow. Requested 2 double beds and received one king and we were told we would be contacted 2 days in to see if they could get us what we paid for, and nothing. Terrible food. Most inedible, outdoor bars out of water, towels run out after 1pm, very long lines at bars-1 bartender working and 20 minutes or more wait time for drinks, outdoor snack areas unclean and not maintained. Terrible beach, no beach chairs or umbrellas, very rough and choppy waters, rude staff. Bathtub/shower areas unsafe. Dirty grounds. The only place service is good is at the beach club where, surprise, surprise, coats $180-$200 a day to stay at. We stay in Cancun or Riviera Maya or Tulum once a year, sometimes twice a year and this by far is the worst experience of my life. Been in the service industry for 25+ years, and would have fired my staff if they treated our guests this poorly. We have complained to the hospitality specialists and while they confirm and acknowledge the poor conditions, we are still fighting to be refunded since we reported most of the issues within 30 minutes of check in. We are on day 5 and nothing. Don’t stay here. Go to any of the Roy’s, or Catalonia’s, or Hard Rock, or Secrets, or Dreams-just a few of where we have stayed in the past and have had amazing times. Please note we paid for premium pyramid oasis and this is the service. Can’t imagine what guests who didn’t pay extra are experiencing. Just disappointing. Once they receive your money, you’re on your own!

I visited this resort 4 times now and even got married here. We loved each visit until just this last one. This most recent visit was unimpressive. Upon arrival, we noticed that our accommodations were incorrect and requested a room upgrade. We were denied the upgrade and told to check again the next day, which they had no availability that day either. They told us to continue checking back the next day until ultimately our trip was over and we did not get the upgrade to the room we were originally supposed to have. They offered to bring in another bed, but our room physically could not accommodate another bed. We would've been stepping over each other. It seems as though some of the staff was very bothered and didn't care to be there. A lot of the bars outdoors consistently ran out of cups & couldn't provide drinks. This is just a snapshot of our unpleasant vacation, but ultimately, we plan to find a new location for our family vacations moving forward. We used to love this resort so much, but it seems to have gone downhill with service, unfortunately.

Spent 6 nights at this gorgeous resort! Staff was absolutely amazing. The pools sparkled and the grounds were lavishly green! All areas of the resort were well kept and very clean! Night shows were overly entertaining! I highly recommend this resort to anyone traveling to Cancun. I will definitely be back.

There was so much to love about this place!
First, the shining star of our experience: the staff! So many wonderful, smiling people always ready to help, and serving with kindness and a welcome smile. I couldn't speak highly enough of the staff we encountered all day, every day.
Second, the food: absolutely delightful. The buffet was by far our favorite option as it was fast and convenient, and there was always something for everyone in our group, from the picky 4 year old to the choosy 78 year old, everyone was happy. The coffee was excellent as well!
The room: it was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom had everything we could need for comfort and cleanliness, view was fantastic, could not hear our neighbors at all. They supplied an extra bed on wheels that was very comfortable as well when we decided we needed more sleeping accommodations.
The beach: oh, the beach! Clean and expansive private beach with clean white sand, plenty of lawn chairs and towels, shallow waters and calm waves perfect with kids or to play volleyball etc, lots of shade available, servers making their rounds, etc.
Surrounding area: lots of little shops right across the street from the hotel entrance selling all the souvenirs you could ask for, hats, sunscreen, sugar skulls, etc. A large supermarket within a short walk that was much like a Target or Walmart, selling ALL the things you would need to live, including a full grocery store.
The only negative we experienced was the evening noise level from music outside by the beach that lasted until 10pm with lights shining in our windows almost every night. Really only an issue because we're early to bed folks with little kids, but not so bad we couldn't overlook it. I'm sure the young visitors really enjoyed the experience. We'll still be returning to Dream Sands without a doubt.

We loved our stay and hated to leave! The one negative was the room was a bit small but outside of that it was perfect. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The beach, pool and food offerings were great. The beach was particularly good with both size, specific location for wind, etc and cleanliness. The entertainment staff was so fun with providing things to do throughout the day that accommodated all ages (Natalia, Leilani and Bryan!). We would absolutely go back.

This hotel has great customer service. From the second you pull onto the property you're treated very kindly & well. The property is clean & beautiful. The beach is absolutely stunning! Calm, shallow, beautiful blue water and soft, fluffy sand. The beach is everything I had hoped for.
We upgraded to a premiere package and it was worth it, but the room was a bit small in my opinion. The king sized bed & pillows were a bit too firm for my liking but it's not something that would prevent me from coming back. The staff work incredibly hard to take good care of everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

I just returned from my stay at Dreams Sands. Overall I would stay here again. The renovations are obvious in some areas but not so much in other areas. It’s definitely an older resort. It’s not a huge space so you won’t have to worry about getting lost or turned around. The staff constantly attend to keeping the resort clean at all times. I only had one bad experience with one manager in The Gaucho Grill. I reported it but it was so offensive and disrespectful I thought it would ruin my trip. But I had such a great experience with Enrique who served us mostly during breakfast and lunch. He was attentive to everyone he encountered and genuinely seemed to enjoy what his work. We had a spa day and that was the icing on the cake for me. Beautiful visually and the staff in the spa were very attentive.

I wanna highlight Oscar from front desk, he was very polite. Took care of us and had resolved our issue quick and in a very professional way. And Enrique in the Breakfast and Lunch area is amazing too, super friendly and takes cares of u very good. So big thanks to him he always welcomes us here so warmly. Overall we enjoy being here, not too crowded especially this year...but yes they can do a better job on the food choices...

This was our kids first trip to Mexico to an all inclusive resort. We all had a blast, all of the staff were very kind, patient and attentive. The food was great, but I particularly enjoyed the tortilla soup. The drinks were about what one would expect, overly sweet and watered down but in the heat they did the trick. The property and rooms were immaculate, they were constantly cleaning and doing maintenance. Finally the shows and entertainment were top notch. I particularly enjoyed the prehispanic and samba dance shows. I would definitely recommend Dreams Riviera Maya for families. It's a great resort, give it a shot for your next family trip.

We are having the most wonderful time at the Dreams Riviera Cancun with our two kids 1 and 4 year olds. The staff has been amazing,
Abraham at the Seaside Grill was spectacular and made our trip feel so seamless and special and Aaron at preferred club went above and beyond to make this trip so special. My husband needed cough medicine and he had ordered it from a pharmacy and had it to us within the hour.
We stayed in room 2551 and had a wonderful view of the ocean and pool and the weddings.
We brought a sound machine because we knew it would be loud but also wanted the view and fun vibe from our balcony.
They brought us a twin bed for our 4 year old and a crib for the baby. Yoga was such a treat after traveling not realizing how much we needed a good stretch.
The pool bar and beach bar bartenders were fabulous. I do not drink much or often, every few days and they remembered my name and my order.

Probably a 3.5 star place at best. If you've stayed at a 5 star resort before, this is a huge disappointment. Starting with the food; all the restaurants open at different times and if you don't go exactly when they open, it's an hour wait. They can't accommodate large families and if you have a larger family, they don't take reservations. Food quality is average for resort, nothing to comment on. Depending on what's going on at the resort, they just close restaurants, including the buffet making it very difficult to eat. Room service takes an hour and is very poor quality. In terms of the rooms, they were not cleaned daily. The beds were made once a day. Turn down service was hit or miss. We had to asked several times to restock the fridge. They kept taking our bottle water (we needed it for formula). Just not the 5 star standard. Service was okay. About half the staff seemed annoyed and that we were bothering them. We had to constantly request the things that were included with the cabanas and for the large party cabana. Club level ended up being a joke and was not the same as other resorts. The lounge was nice, but it's just a room to the side and the appetizers were only steamed veggies and salad. The only club restaurant always had a wait. We also had to continously request the items that were included with the club level. Anyone can access the club beach and we were never asked to show we were club. Overall, very much 3 star. Disappointment if you expect 5 star standard

Disappointing Experience – False Promises and Poor Service
I recently booked Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa for a family vacation, expecting a high-quality experience. While some aspects were enjoyable, the overall stay was disappointing due to misleading promises, poor service, and unprofessional staff.
The Positives
The waiters, waitresses, and bar/restaurant servers were excellent—attentive, friendly, and provided the level of service you’d expect. I also had no major issues with the food, despite some negative reviews online. However, let’s be clear—this is not a 5-star resort.
The Negatives
I originally booked a premium-level room, and tried to upgrade to a club room which was unavailable upon arrival. Instead, I was offered “club privileges,” which were supposed to include:
• Exclusive check-in at the Preferred Lounge with upgraded drinks and snacks
• One-time access to the Hydrotherapy Circuit
• A designated beach area
• Upgraded in-room amenities (snacks, juices, espresso machine)
• Complimentary bottle of liquor (Rum, Tequila, or Whisky)
• Aromatherapy for turn-down service
• Exclusive a la carte breakfast at Seaside Restaurant
At a cost of $400 USD per room.
Unfortunately, what was actually provided amounted to about 25% of what was promised. When I raised concerns with the concierge, they repeatedly said they would “look into it” but never followed up.
At checkout, I asked for a credit since they failed to deliver on their promises. Instead of making it right, they simply said Keyla (the staff member who outlined the benefits) had made a mistake and that I shouldn’t have been offered those perks. If that was the case, there was absolutely no value in the upgrade. What’s worse, they made no effort to rectify the situation—no apology, no goodwill gesture, nothing.
Service Issues
• Neither the front desk staff nor the concierge knew where the club lounge was. Instead, they kept referring me back to each other.
• The front desk staff had an attitude and a smug demeanor—completely unhelpful and uninterested in resolving guest concerns.
• When I asked for the manager’s contact, they only provided his name and refused to write it down, despite having a notepad right in front of them.
Final Thoughts
This resort does not provide 5-star service. The staff at the front desk and concierge were poorly trained and unwilling to assist guests. Instead of owning their mistakes and making things right, they brushed off legitimate concerns and dismissed their own miscommunication as irrelevant.
If you’re looking for a true luxury experience, this is not the place. The service I received was more in line with a 1-star resort. I would not recommend staying here unless management significantly improves its customer service and accountability.

This was by far one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. The staff was super friendly and always happy to see us. The food at the restaurants was phenomenal and well worth the wait. Unfortunately, we encountered a lot of seaweed, but that didn’t stop us from swimming in the ocean. Although we had to switch rooms due to a faulty air conditioner, the team promptly moved us to a different room, and the service recovery was exceptional. My kids are already asking if we can return to this same resort in the near future.

I highly recommend staying in the Indigo section of the resort! Upon check-in, we were escorted to a separate area where champagne was waiting for us. Our room was incredible, with stunning ocean views and a bathtub. The best part of the Indigo experience was having access to the rooftop, which featured a pool, swim-up bar, and sushi bar (with other bites available, too). The pool was never crowded, making it much more relaxing than the rest of the resort. We also enjoyed a couples massage followed by a water therapy session, and it was absolutely divine. The entire staff was incredibly kind and provided prompt service throughout our stay.

I had a lovely experience for my birthday day. Rooms service, upgraded room, everything was immaculate. Food was ok. The grill outside was the best. I was expecting more Mexican food in the resort. The couples spa experience was amazing. The only thing that threw me off about the resort were the other guests acting like they’ve never seen black people that can afford an all inclusive resort before. We got so many awkward stares. Besides that i would definitely stay again.

The room was nice but wasn't in it much except for sleeping. The only negative was that the circulating fan in the center of the room was quite loud
Lots of activities going on all day at the pool to keep people entertained, just beware people claim spots early but I did notice staff would remove towels from spots where people were gone for over an hour
Not a complaint for the resort but when I went there was a ton of high schoolers on a grad trip being loud and obnoxious at the pool and the bar, so hopefully you dont have to deal with anything like that

This was an incredible resort. My husband and I were blown away with the resort itself, the food and the staff. The food and drinks were incredible, we never went hungry or thirsty. Omar at the preferred pool was very kind and attentive. All the bartenders were incredible. They were very experienced and all very personable, it was incredible watching them work the bar so seamlessly.
The spa was incredible, highly recommend getting a treatment.
Overall our experience was amazing, I highly recommend this resort to anyone.

I would not recommend staying here, as it falls short of a 5-star experience and is more in the 3.5-star range at best.
The biggest issue for us was the food. There were very limited options, especially for families with small children or those following a plant-based diet. You have to be quick to get in line for any of the restaurants.
The sun lounger situation is frustrating—you're required to queue early to reserve a family bed, and even then, you often won't get it. By 7 a.m., most loungers are already claimed.
Additionally, the hotel lacks a lift, so if you're traveling with small children, be prepared to carry your stroller up the stairs.
I found it frustrating that the splash pad for smaller children only opens to those not attending kids club, after 12pm so completely unavailable for a morning session which is when a young child who still naps would get the most out of it.
Our first room had bugs, which I found crawling in my suitcase. While the management handled the situation by moving us, the rooms themselves are fairly basic. The walls are thin, we were woken by a rowdy couple next door. Overall, the hotel feels outdated and in need of renovation.
The vibe of the hotel is lively with lots of activities happening around the pool during the day with loud very loud music.
Our whole experience felt rather hard work and not relaxing.
On a positive note, the staff are friendly and hardworking, which is the hotel's biggest asset.

This a great resort! Just returned from our second trip. Staff is great! Rooms are fabulous! Food is out of this world! The junior swim up suites is the only way to go! The pool was a little cool for my liking, but it wasn't too bad. The resort grounds are kept immaculate. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone that is considering a vacation in Mexico! We love it !

This is our first time at El Dorado and I can safely say we would LOVE to return! We stayed in the Palms side and all amenities and the sea view was perfect!
There’s always lots of delicious food options ( from buffet,room service to bookable restaurants and buzzer restaurants) Many daily and nightly activities (really enjoyed karaoke! I would make one suggestion for a watch service within your room incase you’re unable to attend in person or feel a tad tired you can watch along!)
We received great service from all departments but mainly from Luis within the activities department he was outstanding and super attentive when I broke a nail playing water polo!
If you fancy booking a massage I would 1000% recommend Tania, we booked a couples massage in the sky and it was incredible!
We couldn’t be more pleased with our stay and would recommend this to anyone considering staying! 🌅

Lovely resort with nice walking paths. Food was very good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Super clean everywhere. Lots of activities. Beach seems to be feeling the impact of climate change but the resort is making the best of it. The seaweed was coming in but the clean up crew worked nonstop to keep it at bay as best they could. Staff work very hard and are very pleasant.

My husband and I had an AMAZING experience here for our honeymoon. This was my first time and his second at an all inclusive and we were both impressed with everything from the customer service to the landscaping. It was so nice to feel so taken care of and could tell every employee we interacted with wanted us satisfied and we weren’t just a number to them. Our room and view was so beautiful. Housekeeping kept our towels fresh and fridge stocked. All of the food we ate, drinks we consumed, entertainment we watched was great. The only thing we could pick on would be communication for travel upon arrival at the airport. That was not clearly communicated. Outside of that we have no complaints. We look forward to planning our next trip!

This is our second trip back to El Dorado. The first time was with a large group of friends to the Palms side and this time was my husband and I and one other couple to the Suites side. Both times we loved it. There’s always lots of delicious food options, lots of daily and nightly activities, and great service from all departments. Benjamin with the activities department is outstanding, Fernando with front desk is a total rockstar, Alejandro kills it as a bartender. We couldn’t be more pleased and I feel confident bringing more friends here!

I just attended a Wedding here and was kind of nervous after reading some of these reviews. However, I was blown away at this resort. The facilities are beautiful and the service was impeccable. We had a Double Queen Ocean View and it was plenty of space for 3 adults. The bathroom was nice because the Water Closet was separate so multiple people could be in the bathroom at once. My only complaint about the room is that there was not a separate mirror outside the bathroom. The best restaurants were Maris (Seafood) and the Hibachi at Fusion-make sure you book your reservation in the app right at 1:00PM. A bonus was getting to go to the Secrets Resort (Adults Only) next door to eat-Seaside Grill for Lunch and Market Cafe for the best Breakfast-try a Vanilla Iced Coffee! There is so much to do here-you never have to leave the resort. We had a massage at the Spa while my Dad played golf and it was perfect. We got to enjoy the Sauna and Steam Room as well as the Private Pool all to ourselves so make sure you arrive an hour before your appointment! Our excursion of choice was to Swim with the Dolphins and we were able to do this in the Ocean right on property! The pools never seemed crowded and there was never a problem finding a chair or cabana to lounge in. If you’re planning a Wedding this is a great family-friendly location and I would definitely come back.

Loved everything about this resort except the food. The rooms are very large and nice, and I got the basic garden view room. The staff were all very nice and always willing to help. Pool service was great. The pools are amazing. Food is lacking. The buffet is only good for breakfast. Went to the dinner buffet twice and it was hard to find anything good. Ate lots of chips and guac and french fries. I did get a reservation at the Habachi one night and that was the best meal of the week.

Our stay at Dreams Playa Mujeres was far from the relaxing vacation we had hoped for. From the moment we arrived, we were met with relentless sales pressure. The check-in process included an aggressive attempt to get us to attend a 90-minute timeshare sales pitch, disguised as a “welcome breakfast” with supposed spa discounts. When we declined, we were bombarded with daily calls to our room, pressuring us to attend and even misleading us by claiming we needed to confirm our airport transportation in person—just another attempt to get us into another sales pitch.
If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. There is loud music playing everywhere—the pool, the beach, even the walkways between rooms have hidden speakers blaring music from the bushes. Inside our own room, we could still hear the pounding bass from the beach at 10 AM, making relaxation nearly impossible.
The resort is also severely overcrowded. Getting a table for dinner requires a wait of at least an hour and a half. Finding a lounge chair by the pool is a lost cause unless you wake up at 6 AM to claim one with a towel—something many guests do, then disappear for hours. The pool itself is packed and not well-maintained, and the beach is equally crowded, dirty, and noisy.
To top it off, the resort is filled with screaming, tantrum-throwing children, making it far from the luxury escape we had envisioned.
Overall, Dreams Playa Mujeres was a huge disappointment. If you’re looking for a relaxing, peaceful getaway with good service, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

While rooms and location is good. Two major flaws: (1) The food scene is mediocre. Very limited restaurants open for breakfast and lunch outside the buffet. Then the buffet has extremely mediocre options when it comes to food. For dinner they don’t allow reservation and say you have to walk up - but then get slammed with 2 hour waits and end back up in the mediocre buffet. All the bars are inadequately staffed so you wait a long time for drinks etc. when seated at dinner - th waiters take 10-15 mins to show up (see photo of most of family departed Trea Colores as we waited 15 mins before being served water). Also they advertise you can go to Secrets to eat, but guess what - your kids are not allowed. Plan on your kids getting super frustrated as you wait. (2) The advertising seems to suggest that there are all the amenities- but things like the lazy river are off access unless you’re a preferred member. So are many sections of the property.
All and all - definitely not worth the price IMO.

This is not a 5 star hotel. 5 stars means there is the highest level of attention to detail. Our room was worn. Despite requesting extra Nespresso pods in our room, removing beer and providing us with sparkling water and sprite, this only happened on the first day. Pods were only replenished once during our 5 day stay. The food was marginal at best. Amenities for the family were good overall, but it mainly consisted of shallow pools. The lazy river and restaurants with the best food were reserved for preferred guests. This is a resort that caters to destination weddings, but once the bride and groom have picked the spot, the guests are just captive and there is little attention paid to the quality of the experience. I got my room at a discount and I still feel I overpaid and got very little value for my dollar. I would not recommend this resort.
Only bonus was having a private beach, so security felt very solid.

Beautiful resort, fabulous hospitality. Every staff amazingly welcoming, kind, friendly and cheerful. Super clean, wonderful food and drinks, great variety and quality. Entertainment crew did an excellent job every day and night energizing guests to come and all of the activities we came to were great. The spa is wonderful, we had massages and the water therapy.
The Pools were lovely. We did not find them cold as a previous guest noted. But it was warm when we were there. Sunshine everyday! Very Highly recommend.
We were 6 women in our 50's and 60's and can't wait to come back! Thank you so much.

My husband and I recently spent a week at the Hyatt Zilara-Riviera Maya. We chose this resort because the reviews consistently said the service was good. Even knowing to expect a good time, our experience here completely surpassed our expectations.
From check-in to check-out we received phenomenal service. Every employee we came across did their best to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted, with many staff members going above and beyond.
We tried every restaurant and the food was excellent. Drinks were well-made and delivered to wherever we happened to be. Cabana rentals were a decent price and there was plenty of seating/loungers at the pool and on the beach, nothing felt crowded. It isn’t the newest facility but everything was clean and well-maintained. Activities were available all day with varied entertainment options each night.
Shoutout to a few employees who made our trip better than we could have hoped. Marcial (check-in desk), Alejandro and Miguel (pool/beach service), Magdalena (snack bar), Miguel (waiter at Tempest), and Fernan (entertainment).
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Loved this resort! Food was AMAZING and everyone was super nice. My husband and I had a king beachfront private pool and it was the nicest room we've ever stayed at. The resort does a really good job with daytime and nighttime entertainment. Very clean resort with beautiful grounds. Only thing I didn't like was the main pool was freezing cold like ice water. Not heated like some other resorts.

Would never return or recommend this hotel. Have stayed at many 5 star properties and this is nowhere near 5 star. Food at the buffet was inedible. Food at a la cart restaurants was mediocre. Drinks were horrendous. Rooms have paper thin walls you can hear everything through them which makes for an extremely unpleasant experience. The hotel looks like it is falling apart. All spaces are open to the elements so there is no relief from the heat even when you are inside. Only 1 pool and no matter where you sit it is extremely noisy. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation where you can enjoy good food and drinks avoid this place.

The room was fine the swim out pool and the main pool were dirty. A lot of tree debris and other little things that could have been less If they cleaned more often. The restaurant near the pool in the room service was so disgustingly bland. The restaurants for dinner inside of the main lobby area were good. The beach was alright I could not enjoy it because there are so many aggressive coatimundis Is the same reason I never use the swim out pool because they can swim and climb. One even went into our family members room and ripped up all the sugar. Ironically, I still have fun because of my family. But I would visit another resort if I ever came back

I recently spent a unique holiday in one of the best hotels in Mexico, and it was a real paradise! From the moment we arrived, we felt the atmosphere of luxury and hospitality: the staff greeted us with welcome cocktails, the check-in was quick and formal. Our room was very spacious. A huge bed, a jacuzzi on the terrace and a minibar, which was replenished daily, made our stay especially comfortable. The food at the hotel is beyond praise: the restaurant offered Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean and international cuisine. The fresh seafood and signature cocktails in the pool were especially memorable. The hotel itself is surrounded by greenery, with luxurious pools, a private beach with white sand and a spa complex. We enjoyed treatments with aromatic oils and massages to the sounds of the ocean - complete relaxation! This holiday was a dream come true: the perfect combination of comfort, service and the atmosphere of a tropical paradise. I will definitely come back here again!

Angel Gamez and his staff at the Chill Out are PHENOMENAL! They have the kindest and MOST attentive staff in the world! I would absolutely recommend you visit them while here. The beach is absolutely breathtaking and you can not top the privacy on their side of the beach. I definitely give the Chill Out a 20 out of 10! A must while vacationing at Sunset Princess. You will have an additional cost for access to the private beach and free drinks, but it’s well worth it! Tell Angel Jesus sent you and I promise he won’t disappoint!

The room cleaning staff provided excellent service, I could not say too much about them. All staff was very pleasant and nice to deal with.
Hats off to Francesco, our server at the buffet, he had fresh drinks to us as soon as the glass emptied and plates were always cleared.
The grounds were well maintained, but there was a soiled tissue on the floor of the elevator that remained untouched all week.
And a dirty cup was left on the stairs around Tuesday and when we left on Sunday morning it was still there. So the property cleaners could do better.
Don't try to get a coffee before 7 , and even then you had to go to the buffet to get it.
The evening entertainment was rudimentary at best , great for kids but lacking for adults.
Most surprising was when I looked at the room service menu and saw a bottle of tequila that I drink at home was available for $120 US when I can buy it at the LCBO at home for $46 CDN.
Beach was ok but the ocean was so rocky that I broke toe nails and bruised my feet.
Only went in once because just not enjoyable

It was a blast staying here for a week. We went here with Sunwing vacations. No complaints with Sunwing, it was a smooth plane ride, the airport transfers were also great.
Once you book with Sunwing, they will let you know the aiport transfers 2 days before the flight. The only thing that we found that can be improved upon was vegetarian food options.
We booked the all inclusive package, so if you like drinks, you will be in heaven.
Overall, the resort was amazing and we will go again!

Compared to other resorts, they excel in the vast number of pools and activities for every member of the family. The crowd is also a bit upscale too. Food is good and buffet choices, while a bit limited, tastes good. The restaurant options for dinner are also plenty with French, Japanese, Italian and Mexican cuisines to choose from. We started with the delux but immediately upgraded to platinum after 2 nights when we felt that we wanted to be closer to the beach. The rooms are definitely a big upgrade with ocean view and some greenery.
The whole family loves it!

We were greeted promptly upon arrival and taken to the 21st floor to check in since we had a Preferred Club room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the romantic breakfast on our balcony. However, we didn't use the Preferred Club amenities/perks like we'd anticipated. Therefore, I wouldn't advise anyone to book this type of room. We could've really just booked an ocean view room because we spent most of our time out by the beach. Our favorite food was at Sea Salt Grill. The short rib, chorrillana fish, and Brazos Gitano dessert were so good. We ate there more than one night. This is not a resort for party people. We found it to be more of a relaxed crowd and environment. There was nightly entertainment, but we didn't see many people attending it. Before we arrived, I'd read reviews about a weird smell in the lobby, and I agree. I think they are trying to mask it with another scent, but you can still smell the sewage-like smell in various areas of the lobby. I know that some people don't like wristbands, but I think they'd make it easier for guests to enter and exit the beach and restaurants without having to give your room number/name.

Our stay at Secrets The Vine Cancun was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for by the incredible staff. A special shout-out to Allen and Miguel from the entertainment team – they were so much fun and did a phenomenal job keeping us engaged in the activities. Whether it was poolside games or evening events, they made every experience lively and memorable.
The service throughout the resort was excellent. Everyone we encountered, from the wait staff to the housekeeping team, was friendly, attentive, and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed. The resort itself was very clean, and it was clear that cleanliness is a top priority here.
The food was also a highlight, with plenty of delicious options to choose from. Our favorite spot was the Sea Salt Grill.
In the evenings, there was always something fun going on, with a great variety of entertainment to keep things interesting. We loved the mix of live music, shows, and themed events, which really added to the overall experience.
Overall, Secrets The Vine Cancun was a perfect blend of relaxation, fun, and luxury.

Biggest regret of the trip. Room was nearly $1000/night — totally not worth it.
Food was terrible. We tried Nebbiolo (Italian restaurant) — mussels were tiny and smelled bad, clams had no meat, fish was fishy. Couldn’t finish anything.
Room service was no better — shrimp tacos were over-fried, soup was too salty, and the sausage on the pizza didn’t taste fresh.
We ended up ordering McDonald’s and Japanese ramen (not instant noodles) at midnight just to eat something decent.
From the moment we entered, it felt off — the lobby starts with a staircase, and even just walking around inside or outside, everything felt old and worn down.
Room had a broken faucet, peeling furniture, and no hot water.
Beach was narrow, full of seaweed, and poorly maintained. Plastic lounge chairs were uncomfortable.
I tried to check out early, and one staff member actually gave me a hard time — even said she didn’t care what kind of review I write.
Well, here’s the review. From her tone alone, I could feel how little they value guests — and I had booked one of their top suites.
We left the next day and moved to another hotel called EDITION which is much much better. Would absolutely not recommend — especially if you care about food, comfort, or basic respect.

Such an amazing experience. The staff are all so nice, there to help with anything you might need. This was my first time out of the country and at a resort. Would definitely recommend! Only downside my partner had was that there were only 1 or 2 restaurants open for breakfast and lunch. The market cafe was my personal favorite for breakfast they had many options. You can however order snacks and small lunch items by the pool. We didn’t get the chance to try all of the restaurants but heard many good things from other guests.

One of the biggest wastes of money it’s impressive.
While the drinks and bartenders were amazing. All other staff were slower than molasses. Checking in needed a phd in Quantam mechanics to figure out, took an hour longer and they still got it wrong. Be prepared to wait 1-2hours to get a table to eat the most mediocre dishes.
Everything here needs an app but the WiFi doesn’t work. That makes sense
Get better value at any other resort. Stay in the hotel zone if you could.

We came to the resort with a group to celebrate birthday's and our anniversary. When we booked this trip, we made the mistake of reading the reviews and went into the trip thinking the worst...but we were pleasantly surprised from day 1...The resort is beautiful and very clean,the entire staff was amazing, friendly and so very helpful. The birthday people in our group were treated like VIP guests with awesome decorations by the pool and a champagne shower😂 There was tons to do here..the food was absolutely amazing and contrary to the horrible reviews, Not one person got food poisoning. The pools were so fun and beautiful. If you come, make sure you go see Fernando at the poolside brick oven pizza spot and ask him to hook you up with the "Mexican candy" shot🤗 I can not say enough about the care we all received from the staff, especially Angel,
Polo the pool waiter, Carlos the pool concierge, Fernando, and Margarito at the poolside swim up bar. They were just amazing!! The friends we came with have been coming to this resort for 5 years and we are so excited to come back next year!!!!

Incredible All-Inclusive Retreat – Amazing Staff!
Our stay at Breathless Riviera Cancun was nothing short of exceptional! The resort itself is stunning, with beautiful surroundings, top-notch amenities, and an incredible all-inclusive experience. However, what truly made our trip unforgettable was the amazing staff.
A special mention to Angel at the buffet, who provided outstanding service every single day. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa is an exhilarating and fun experience. There is something for everyone… fun land and water classes for all levels (led by guest yoga and fitness instructors and the resort Entertainment team). I participated in yoga, aqua cycle, aqua aerobics. There were special opportunities to learn the art of guacamole preparation with a resort culinary expert (Amarati) and a tequila tasting led by professional sommelier (Antonio Ramirez) which were very special experiences. Our bottle painting activity with an artist (Anahi) were great keepsakes to remind us of this fun time. We were wowed by their expertise and knowledge!
The Entertainment team led by Omar created a vibrant scene day and night offering contests and pool poker by day and fun themed nights and shows. We personally interacted with so many (Mauro, Yahanna, Pedro, Ivan, Andres, Alvin, and Sergio) who always had a smile on their face and made sure we knew all the events of the day.
There are several pools to match your vibe whether it is more mellow or you are ready for the high energy music and themes led by professional DJs at the Xhilaration pool.
The evening shows were varied and we really enjoyed the neon human show (I won’t spoil the delightful surprise ending) and the Queen tribute. There was dancing and singing – including guests with several karaoke nights.
Lots of food and drink options. The bartenders at the swim up bar (Christian and Armando) will take great care of you! Gabby in the cafe knew our coffee orders by the second day and was a delight first thing in the morning. Angel in the Spoon is a shining light with his big smile!!! Our favorite restaurants were the French (Lorenzo, Marco, and Edwin) and Italian (Pamela, Roberto, Charly) - some of the most memorable meals I’ve had and the staff attended to every need! The tableside tiramisu was a fun surprise!

I had the best time at Breathless Resort and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, vibrant getaway! My friend and I went for a quick girls' trip, and this resort was exactly what we needed. There’s always something happening, and the staff really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and safe.
From the moment we checked in (shoutout to Luis and Jorge for being so helpful) to the amazing service throughout our stay, everyone was super friendly, professional, and accommodating.
The highlight of the trip was definitely the entertainment team. Big thanks to Angel, Luis, and Pedro – you guys made our time here unforgettable! Whether it was playing blackjack, darts, bingo, or joining in on water aerobics and water cycling, there was never a dull moment. The neon party was a blast, the sip and paint was beautiful, and the magic show had us all in awe. If you're looking for a place with endless fun, this is the spot.
The main pool was definitely our favorite – it had everything: games, activities, a swim-up bar, and waiters like Ariel, who were always on top of keeping our drinks filled.
Breathless offers a variety of dining options, with several delicious restaurants and a buffet. While we’re not usually fans of buffets, we gave it a try and it was fine, but honestly, every meal we had at the restaurants was fantastic.
Definitely a 10/10 experience – can’t wait to come back! :)

The entire experience was amazing. The staff was really friendly and attentive with tons of options to accommodate for food allergies. The food was really spectacular and so were the drinks. It was also incredibly easy to book a day trip, and the facial and massage were amazing. All together was pretty shocked with how great it was and as someone who normally doesn't like resorts, I loved this experience and will definitely come back.

Overall I felt the staff was overwhelmed. I entered the property and bag check was normal and the staff was pleasant there. There is a lot of staff trying to sell another trip offering discounts (but not really). Let me preference this by saying I booked through a booking agent because it was my sister wedding. So it was surprising to know I had to leave $500 hold on my credit card. Now that I put on the booking agent not the hotel as this should've been disclose. I was able to get my room at 2:15pm. I forgot to say that I arrived at 10am. Waiting for a room is normal. My sister (the bride) ask if my room was ready and she was handed my card. Walked into the room and overall a bit outdated however good to stay in the room for a few days. Then I notice the safe was broken. I mean broken, it didn't work. I was willing to just let it go and just figure out something else. I was tired and went to take a shower and then realize there's no towels. Just hand towels. Got upset, put on some clothes and went to the front desk because they wasn't answering. The staff in the front apologize and said she will get maintenance over as well as house keeping for the towels. That was around 3pm. I called at 4pm and finally they picked up. The maintenance finally showed up at 4:30pm. Housekeeping showed up at 5pm. There's so much but this is what i can get out without getting out.

Half an hour from Cancun airport, this place is all inclusive and adults only. There are two other resorts called El Dorado Casitas and El Dorado Generations that share the same beautiful property. As a guest, you're free to use restaurants and bars at the other two.
The property is really beautiful with lots of plants, flowers, fountains, and wildlife. The beach isn't a strong point but the Generations one is nice.
The food is mostly positive. We loved the Asian place but the Santa Fe was not what we expected. All of the buffets were very good and certainly above average for an all inclusive. The service was overall excellent and friendly.
We'll be back.

They seamlessly managed our reservations, trip schedules and daily needs before we even knew we needed it done! Hello mother hello father here I am in what has been a great resort on previous occasions but alas is like a total opposite to previous experience. Having requested a room in an area which is suitable to our physical disabilities almost a year in advance we were allocated a room in total contrast to what we required. As a result we have arrived and now truly wished we had not returned and it has transpired to be third time unlucky . As I sit in a room that is totally unsatisfactory and can hear music from a nearby disco thumping in my ear and at 70 years hold, and I can hear it says it all .
I will of course be revisiting this issue in the morning, but after a 9.5 hour flight and a rediculous delay (1.5hrs ) to collect baggage in Cancun airport then a delayed transport to the hotel I am truly sorry we came back to Mexico.

After an hour of stress and unable to get settled I returned to reception . I explained the level of my discontent with the accommodation and I was reallocated another room in another area . So now I hope to experience this resort in the way I have on my two previous visits. Such a pity this happened. I will provide a further review or update this at the conclusion of our visit to this resort .
Well, after the initial room issue which was in my opinion totally avoidable. The following two weeks at the resort proved to be as great an experience as our previous visits.
The day to day breakfast buffet at Cocotal provides a wide variety of food, both hot and cold with a friendly young man preparing bespoke eggs and omelettes .
Every visit starts with a smile and welcome then direction to a table where within moments a waiter attends to drinks required all the waiters once again are very friendly. There are quite a few venues to experience throughout the resort where breakfast is available, some with stunning views of the ocean.
Lunch is available throughout this resort at a wide range of locations that cater for almost any kind of lunch you can imagine fresh salads, fish, burgers , pizza , vegetarian , and healthy options.
There are various walk in venues for lunch throughout the resort , we found that Chefs Market in the Generations section provided an excellent variety of quality foods available. Once again the staff here are friendly and helpful, we found Louis to be particularly friendly and efficient.
For evening dining at most of the specialist restaurants a reservation is required using the resorts online app which is simple to use.
The food at the restaurants was for the most part really good along with great service. The wine kitchen was a particularly outstanding experience.
In the event of being unable to obtain a reservation there are many locations such as chefs market or the pizzeria, where food is available until late, and if all else fails room service is always available.
I started this review with details of a sad arrival experience . If there is one thing that makes this resort, it is the happy friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble to make your holiday experience a happy and memorable one.

Fantastic. We stayed at moon palace sunrise. Resort pays attention to details here. Plenty for kids to do, do not go here if you're trying to lose weight! Food is plentiful and delicious! Ice cream snacks, pizza and BBQ by the pool! Lots of restaurants. App is used to make reservations or even ask for house keeping. So many pools. All areas are great. The kids pool area is conveniently located beside a regular pool area with swim up bar. Evening entertainment was fantastic and not some artist hired off the street and told to lip sync a Micheal Jackson song. The main lobby is large and has an upscale feel. It is not a breezeway style lobby though you'd find in other locations. This is a hotel resort enclosed lobby. Fancy, but not outdoors. Don't listen to anyone about the beach. Yes, you can't snorkel it like Cuba and it's not crystal clear, but the sand is white and the beach area is large and inviting. This resort is huge but no issues if you have mobility issues as golf carts will come pick you up. Overall it was a great experience and has a sense of high class here. Highly recommend.

Like everyone else, am seeing all of the news and now these negative reviews here to spam Palace Resorts (probably many people who have never stayed here)
We have been to Moon Palace multiple times, as well as Sun Palace and they are absolutely wonderful resorts with truly excellent staff who provide top notch service. Prefer the beach at Sun Palace, but Moon Palace also has gorgeous pools. Both resorts have had great AI food.
We have found their Customer Service team to be pleasant to work with, especially the Try & Buy team, which was very generous offers for returning to Palace Resorts. And while not members, have done the presentation which was no different than any other of the sort.
In addition, Palace Resorts hosts multiple large events annually for major artists such as Luke Bryan, Dave Matthews etc. To have these events, year after year for thousands and thousands of attendees without issue, would indicate that Palace Resorts maintains highly professional relationships with the artists.
Lastly, I would say before posting a negative review if you have not stayed here, to consider the aforementioned amazing staff at Palace Resorts, who truly create a wonderful vacation experience.

Been sitting at the airport waiting for the shuttle for over an hour since my plane landed.....would consider some other form of transportation from the airport.....this resort shuttle is a joke. I will update this week as we stay at the resort. Finally got to the resort after 1 hour 15 min at the airport....shuttle drops us at the wrong lobby....wait in line 40 min to find that out....then back outside to wait for a shuttle to take us to the right lobby.....can the kids have a snack at the all inclusive resort I have already paid for while we wait?.....Nope can't have anything until you check in at the right lobby....good grief.
Ok been at the resort since Monday after the transportation debacle and ready for some updates. Very difficult to get reservations for restaurants as the reservations open early a couple of days in advance and fill up quickly. They do try hard to get you on the breakfast tour to become a resort member....they say it will only take an hour and threaten you with having to pay your own taxes for everything if you do not agree. I was able to elude them but will keep you updated on what "paying the 16% tax" means. The kids did really enjoy the water park and it was included but only if you stay at the grand location....otherwise there is a usage fee. The water park was easy to access but you had to get there before 9am and put something on a few seats if you wanted a place to rest during the day.....many seats appeared to never be used but Noone seemed to ever move their stuff and staff said they were unable to help with any seating as seats were first come first served. The wait staff at the water park was very good as was the wait staff everywhere in the resort. The kids indoor play areas is one of the best I have ever seen in cancun with arcade games not requiring any additional money and an abundant amount of staff...making them feel safe and welcoming. We as a family have been to at least 10 other resorts in cancun and are members at the Xcarat Mexico resort. The food was above average for these all inclusive resorts but not the best I have had. The grand buffet does get very crowded with about a 30 min wait in the mornings but other breakfast buffets are open on site although they are smaller with a less varied selection. The family shows were among the best we have seen at an all inclusive resort in cancun....we saw the adult magician (there was a kid show we did not see), the luchadoras, and the Michael Jackson tribute. We also watched a bit of the fire show one evening which looked entertaining as well. Our room service and cleaning staff were the best I have ever had in cancun and they were tipped accordingly....met every need in a timely fashion with a smile and "My Pleasure." The beach was typical of cancun with cloudy muggy water and excessive seawèed...but that is typical of every location I have seen in cancun. There were plenty of activities during the day for the kids at the pool with bracelet making, bike riding, play doh, face panting, and balloon twisting being a few of our favorites. My daughter and I did get facials....I did not want one but you have to pay for one for yourself if the other person is a minor....essentially doubling the price. My dad traveled with us and had recently recovered from a stomach bug so he did get iv hydration at the spa which was nice and helped him have a more enjoyable trip. My dad also had a full body massage which he said he enjoyed. We did have to travel to the gol course spa for my daughter and I to get our facials but the transportation was fairly easy with the shuttles (golf carts). Checking out tomorrow will update again when I get home.

It was our first AI experience, and we (two adults and two kids) all enjoyed it very much. It is nice that they keep your luggage (jackets have to be in the bag), and you can enjoy their amenities (pool/snack bar, etc.) if you get there before check-in.
The food was excellent. Reservations are recommended for dinner. The snack/dessert bar, where you can also get sandwiches and crepes, was very convenient. They try to accommodate your allergies, but it was hard at the morning buffet. Just be careful.
One might argue that the room is outdated, but we saw the workers deep cleaning a few rooms (even exchanging vents and stuff), so you can tell they try to keep it clean.
The service was very nice. Everyone was super friendly.
Bring enough cash with you (in small bills). You will die inside if you use the ATM. I ran out of cash to tip, so I took out 500 pesos. According to the conversion, it was $32.50, but they added a $60 fee.
My fav part was painting ceramics by the pool. After you paint it, they dry it and glaze it for you to pick up the next day.
This time, we stayed at Sunrise but we'd love to stay at Grand next time we visit.

The stay was great right up until they told me at check out that they hadn't received my original payment and needed to charge my card for the whole stay a second time. Even though I could show them proof that the payment had cleared on my card 4 days before the stay, they refused to allow me to leave until I payed a second time. They promised to refund the second charge once they could contact the billing department (which doesn't open until after 9). Will update once I have (or don't have) a resolution. UPDATE: they have told me they issued the refund for the second payment. I still don't plan to return given they were preventing me from leaving until I paid them several thousand dollars that I did not owe them.
To their credit: even through the issue with double charging me, their staff was friendly at every interaction.
My elementary age kids loved the pools, although it was disappointing to only have one slide if you didn't upgrade to the grand.
They were surprisingly attentive to my child's food allergies. Some of that was genuine, like offering to make her a special dessert, but some of it was just CYA, like making me sign that I was okay with the cross contamination risk if she got food from the buffet.

We booked a deluxe room with ocean view. As described, you could view the ocean from a distance, but that's it. I was kind of disappointed that it didn't have a better view of the ocean. The room was spacious and decently equipped, but was nothing too be excited about. The showers and Jacuzzi could help from some renovation.
Food was amazing with hundreds of options to choose from. Liquor was abundant and staff was ready for service.
Playroom was a great way to have some private time just with your partner.
The location was great with a lot of privacy and safety.

Beach Palace was a fantastic choice for our family vacation. Our room was spacious with beautiful ocean views - perfect for unwinding after busy beach days. Our kids (2 & 4) loved the waterslide and spent hours playing in both the pool and the playroom.
We were impressed by the food quality across all restaurants - definitely exceeded our usual all-inclusive expectations. The laid-back vibe made it easy to relax with young children.
Special shout-out to Francisco, our poolside waiter who took care of us each day. The guest relations team also deserves recognition for making my wife's and son's birthdays extra special with balloons and a dessert.
Beach Palace strikes a great balance of comfort, service, and value. Perfect spot for families looking for a stress-free vacation.

Stayed at the beach palace for 1 week and was very impressed with the service and the food quality was excellent.
Our favourites were the smokehouse and tavola restaurant.The buffet(tequila) was excellent too ,the only fault we could find was the same food every day and why was there no fruit on at lunchtime?
Beach was excellent and well served by waiters who would bring you drinks all day.
Pool was also good for this but you have to get there early for a prime spot as most had towels reserved on them .
Even at 6am .best spot is the rooftop pool as we found it easy to get a spot up there everyday.Room was very clean and comfortable. We had a lagoon view which was great in the afternoon for sun .
entertainment at night was good .
Really enjoyed the Micheal Jackson show.
They are having a big Reno soon which is needed but would definitely come back again .

The hotel is located in a very rich area with many different shops around 10 to 20 minutes by walk from the hotel. The rooms are very nice but were slightly dirty but overall they are really clean and comfortable the only dirt was some of the sand on the floors which you can’t really get rid of in a beach hotel. The ocean is stunning and large but once the wind picks up the waves get more big and I wouldn’t recommend going there if you aren’t that strong of a swimmer once the wind calms down again the ocean is really calm and beautiful. The hotel is overall really breathtaking with many different restaurants including sushi, steak or even Italian cuisine you just need to reserve some of them. There is also a snack and drink bar near the pools and you can also drink the drinks inside of the pool. The staff is extremely nice and they are going to answer almost any questions. I would definitely reckoned going here with your friends or family.

Really amazing experience. A couple tips.
1. Bring some chair clips or bands to clip your towel to your chair. You’ll need to be down at the pool at 6:30AM to save your spot. The clips or bands will clearly identify your spot
2. Tip your servers, don’t be a cheapskate. Bring plenty of 20 and 50 peso bills.
3. Tip your cleaners. They will appreciate it.
4. Take an Uber to the Moon Palace and pay the extra $100 for the water park access
5. Book your restaurant 2 days in advance to get a time.
6. Go to the shows at 7pm and 9pm. Lots of fun.

Spent 10 days at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya in February. We have been to 15+ all inclusive resorts and found this HR to have the nicest grounds/beaches we have experienced. We would walk the entire grounds daily and enjoyed the pristine landscaping and lagoons areas that served as the beach. Drink & food are readily available throughout the resort. The restaurants were good.....we had some excellent meals and a few misses. No real issue getting into the restaurants unless you come at 7PM....which is peak time and usually will have a decent wait time.
The rooms are tighter than we are use to. We had more luggage due to our longer stay and the 3 drawers/5 hangers did not meet our needs. The house keeping was not consistent as we had to call for service multiple times. There were no hand towels or face clothes on multiple days. The last 2 days, our room experienced a sewer odor coming from the shower drain. Maintenance came but spraying a deodorizer did not solve the issue!
The service at the restaurants were good. We enjoyed Faro daily for either breakfast or lunch or both some days. The Manager Maria and her team treated us very well and we appreciated the great service and food. Zen was also very good on all levels.
We enjoyed our vacation at the Hard Rock, but feel Management could make efforts to make the customer experience even better. Inconsistent quality at the Al-a-Carte Restaurants. The consistency of the housekeeping. General maintenance of the rooms/buildings needs attention.
From a health perspective, placing used drink glasses into a tub of water for a quick rinse does not provide the level of sanitation that is reasonable. I returned home to a bad cold/flu that likely came from using these unclean drink glasses at the beach/pool areas. Bring a GO CUP for your drinks!!

Great resort for a family as well as a couple to visit. Lots of pools to visit as well as restaurants. Tons of added attractions for kids and golf cart shuttles to get you around the massive resort. Will definitely come back again. Downsides: The rooms can use a little updating and maintenance. The beaches are small, private and enclosed so you can't really walk along beach if that's something you enjoy, But they are safer for small kids. The overall service was great however, they did not greet us at the door with drinks and cool towels like other resorts typically do. The staff was friendly and accomodating.

I like to rate experiences that are in the top or bottom 5% only. This visit to Hard Rock Riviera Maya was an absolute surprise. With it being all inclusive AND Spring Break, I expected dirty cups, bottles and the like scattered throughout the premises. On the contrary, the grounds were kept immaculately, everything was cleaned every day and throughout the day, and the place was beautiful and spotless. I will return at some point to revisit all the friends I made amongst the staff, and to enjoy the very functional and beautiful grounds.
EVERY interaction with all employees was greeted with a smile and “Hola”. Special recognition goes out to Hugo at the front desk, the sommelier at Toro, Sam in Housekeeping, and especially David Alvarez poolside. David was incredible and deserves huge accolades.
The food was average I suppose for such a venue, but all in all the experience was fantastic. Keep up the good work!

We spent Spring break 2025 at this resort with our 4 daughters. We ALL had the most amazing experience. Our butlers Gabriel and Naef were wonderful. They made sure we had chairs at the pool or the beach and made all our reservations for dinner and the shows. They checked on us daily and were genuinely concerned about making our stay great. As far as the resort goes it was a perfect place for our family. We especially enjoyed the water park, slides and kids club. Andi and Ursula made our two little girls feel welcomed everyday. We also enjoyed the nightly shows. Our spring break couldn’t have been better!

My expectations were probably very high, as I had previously stayed at the Hard Rock in Panama, and the facilities, rooms, food, and service there seemed great to me. For this reason, I thought it would be worth staying at the Hard Rock in Riviera Maya.
I would give a good rating to the pools and common areas, but my surprise was that the rooms feel somewhat 'old,' as if they needed renovation or maintenance. I even expected better infrastructure in the Heaven section (because I visited the bride and groom in the honeymoon suite), and I got with the same bad feeling/experience. I have the feeling that I did not receive the quality I was expecting, especially for the amount I paid. I stayed in Building 4, and having the bathtub next to the beds makes the room feel super cramped and lacking in space. Cleaning was only done once during my stay and on the last day, we stayed almost until 6 pm due to work-related matters, and because we already had the 'white' paper bracelet, we noticed that service and attention changed dramatically, as if we were 'marginalized.' Lastly, I wanted to ask for a croissant and was denied because it was already past 5 pm (how much can a croissant mean or cost compared to what we had already paid for our stay?). The straw that broke the camel's back was finding our suitcases 'tossed' on the floor and exposed to the weather, because as we were 'no longer guests,' the concierge staff did not secure our luggage.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank all the staff at the SPA and the Coffee Shop, who were the only ones that made me feel CARED and treated us super well at all times! As for the rest, I hope the Hotel takes this into account, because for now, one part of me would like to stay again but the other one is not pretty sure.

This place was great for me and my family! The staff was so accommodating and welcoming and they made sure for us to have a great time! The food was great, lots of varieties for different times or foods, and the pool and other amenities were really nice and fun! The only downside was that they didn’t have laundry washing for dirty clothes, and we found a cockroach in our room one night, but it was because of when we left our balcony window open, but it disgusted us, but thankfully, the staff were willing to come and take care of the problem by spraying the room so it stayed clean. This resort was great, but the staff and service takes the cake for this place! We will definitely consider coming back here next time we come to Playa del Carmen and I loved the view! This place was amazing and I would definitely recommend visiting again and recommend it for others!

PROPERTY: In desperate need for a remodel. As you can see in my pics, several areas have been neglected and take away from the overall experience. We’ve been to different areas of Mexico, and have never before encountered a dilapidated property until now. There’s an obvious lack of personnel which is noticeable in the dirty glass balconies (5th floor) and main lobby area glass doors. I personally requested someone clean the glass doors in my mom’s room, but this was never done. The pool are is big but outdated, nevertheless it was always spotless. Thank you, Daniela, for making our pool drink experience 5 stars. The rooms have glass stains on the stone countertops and management is aware, but have not replaced them. The balconies and sliding glass doors are never cleaned and the water has a funky smell. Whoever handles their social media and marketing does a great job at hiding the dated areas of the property, so do a thorough research.
RESTAURANTS: BEWARE that it’s likely you won’t find reservations for any of the restaurants if you have a large party. We were 6 adults and a child, and I had to complaint to guest relations whose first reaction was to suggest we do the buffet. I chose this resort partly because of its restaurants, so that option was unacceptable. Guest relations got us reservations, but only after I strongly expressed my disappointment with the process. Despite my request for a property manager, no one ever connected with me.
On day 1 the food by the pool area was awful and the staff disengaged, but this vastly improved on day 2.
Madre Mía was the highlight of our dining experience, the food and the customer service were impeccable and the restaurant was gorgeous! Kudos to the Chef! The Italian restaurant was also great, but what’s puzzling is that there were no reservations through the app, when the restaurant had at least 10 empty tables.
The buffet has a wide variety of options for breakfast and lunch, and Manuela is the most gracious and thoughtful host you will ever find. Locate Manuela and sit at her section, she will ensure you have an enjoyable experience.
LOCATION: Not good if you want beach access. There’s a tiny strip of beach, but it was full of seaweed which is beyond the property’s control. Even with staff cleaning the seaweed for hours, they couldn’t put a dent on the amount of seaweed that came to the shore. One benefit of the location is being right next to the ferry pier, where you can catch a ride to Cozumel (40 mins). Once at Cozumel we visited the sister property, Cozumel Palace. This property was remodeled recently and it showed! It was small and felt very intimate and the customer service was top notch! KUDOS to the wet bar bartender at Cozumel Palace, he truly knows how to deliver a 5 star experience.

This was our first time at the Palace resorts, even though this was our second visit to Mexico.
Pros and some helpful tips for first timers:
The facilities and the rooms are clean and great. The attention to detail like filling up your bar, snacks, fridge- awesome!
We loved the resort- although thought the pool was on the smaller side(granted we were comparing it to Cancun). Book your seats by the pool early (like 7 am!) since most of them are reserved for their member's with their membership.
The pool service comes to you and gets your drinks to order your drinks. The more you tip, the better your service.
The coffee shop made amazing lattes- had 2 a day! The kids loved their truffles, chocolate and icecream choices.
The best restaurant on the property is Madre Mia- so def make your reservation the minute you check-in via the app asap.
Cafe Del Mar was nice for breakfast and lunch with various options. But ended being sorta disappointing for dinner- the one day we couldn’t get reservations.
The Italian place along with Momo was average (coming from Chicago- it wasn’t outstanding). We didn’t get to experience the other restaurant, since they had reservations at 9 pm(which didn’t work with kids that go to bed at 8:30!). They were unwilling to fit us in for an earlier reservation (guest service was pretty unhelpful).
The spa was average and nothing to write home to. Had a deep tissue massage and an aromatherapy one- but ended having lower back issues the next day:/ The services are definitely overpriced for sure especially when you compare it to Chicago prices, so wouldn’t have tried it if we didn’t have resort credits.
Cons:
They are going to pressurize you to sign up for their membership.
So if you attend their presentation, you get resort credits. If you go that route, please book your experience/ spa after you get your credits- or you will be screwed with money out of your pocket. They can’t seem to balance anything out with credits. Also plan on sitting there for 2+ hrs for the presentation and having several directors coming to sweeten the deal for you to commit. I’ll let you do your research on that;). We felt like they wanted you to commit without doing our own research but we said no at the end.
Although we had an initial great experience with Palace resorts, it was soured when verbal promises made regarding resort credits that weren't not honored. We ended up paying for part of experiences out of our pockets even though we had enough resort credits to cover on our account.
We didn't appreciate that what was told to us by one employee wasn’t honored the next day. We were also sold on the bigger dolphin experience package( saying that would be covered by resort credits) that our kids (4 and 6 yrs) could not even do and then ended having to pay out of our pocket for it. It would have been cheaper to do the lower package and more enjoyable as well especially if we knew we had to pay for them.
So we would not consider them again for our next vacation based on our experience.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hard Rock in Cancun, and I want to share my experience! I had read several reviews mentioning that getting reservations for the restaurants could be tricky. While I agree that for some restaurants, you need to line up starting at 1 PM (and yes, it can take up to an hour), I believe it’s well worth the wait. For the other restaurants, as long as you arrive by 6:30 PM, you should have no issues. The rooms are a bit too small and could use some updating, but honestly, you tend to overlook that because of the incredible service from the staff. Every team member goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. A special shoutout to Omar, who made my 60th birthday truly unforgettable! He is hands down one of the nicest, most entertaining, and hardworking individuals I've encountered in the hotel industry, and I’ve been to many resorts. Omar took the time to connect with guests, genuinely wanting to learn more about everyone. It was through our conversation that he found out we were celebrating my birthday. During the foam party, he even called me up, had someone escort me, and announced my special day to everyone! He made sure to celebrate not only my birthday but also acknowledged other occasions, whether they were anniversaries or other celebrations. Overall, if you’re looking for a fantastic vacation experience, the Hard Rock Cancun is a place to consider!

The entertainment staff was amazing. Fernando, Deni, Joseph, John, Angie, Omar edu Elien, we enjoyed the water aerobics and the nightly shows as a family. I also really liked the show water spinning and yoga. Christian in the music lab was awesome! My girls loved recording a song and making a music video. They had a millions requests and he accommodated ever single one. I wish I knew the names of some pool staff, they were also really great in helping me set up chairs. Thank you!

Just returned after spending 7 wonderful days at the Hard Rock Cancun. The food was better than I expected. The staff was awesome! I cannot think of one off putting interaction the entire time we were there. You could tell that they take pride in the work they do, and really deliver. There were two stand outs Carlos and Fransisco who are servers outside at the international buffet. They went above and beyond to enhance our experience. My only complaint was the size and condition of the rooms. Our next visit I will have to check for larger accommodations. Our room was an ocean view with 2 double beds. Much of the rooms square footage was taken up by hot tub (that nobody is going to use). Rooms are clean, but dated. Beds are small, but comfortable. The housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning around our gear ,and keeping our room clean and tidy during our stay.

I have nothing but great things to say about Secrets Akumal! We are so sad to leave. Every member of the staff (especially Diana concierge and pool David) were such a delight. They greeted us with champagne upon arrival and a “welcome home”. All the staff at the pool were constantly circulating and checking in on us, adjusting umbrellas and getting us food/drinks. They truly went above and beyond to make our trip special. For example, we were celebrating my sister’s 30th birthday and the staff had the entire room decorated in rose petals and balloons in addition to a bottle of champagne and cake and a lovely card. The resort itself is beyond beautiful and the food is outstanding. No bad bites (including room service). Shout to Market Cafe for their exceptional buffet breakfast. I could not recommend this resort more. 5- stars all around!! We are already planning our next trip back.

Our daughter had a wedding there last weekend. It was absolutely amazing!!! Our wedding coordinator, Elsa, was over the top wonderful with everything!!! She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Loved her!!! Two of the bartender/ servers were also fabulous!! Jesus was one and the other was Timoteo. These two young men went out of their way to make sure our guests were taken care of! The service overall was outstanding and above average!!! Our guests were treated like royalty for the wedding week and we could not be more pleased with this resort. We will be back sooner than later!!! Thank you to all the staff at Secrets Akumal for making sure our daughter’s wedding was perfect and that us and our guests were happy!!!! We already miss everyone!!!

Absolutely stunning resort - was really sad to leave. It is total luxury in every way. The snorkelling right off the hotel beach is great (loads of tropical fish) and the hotel offers turtle snorkelling tours where you snorkel around the perimeter of a turtle reserve a 2 minute walk from the hotel along the beach. We saw almost 20 turtles! Big thank you to Gina who was an amazing snorkel guide and a lovely concierge.

Incredible resort in every way. The beach and pools and grounds were beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The food was plentiful and so varied. We especially loved the poolside BBQs. Our concierge was so helpful. The entertainment was incredible. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay and it was so sad to leave. Would come back a million times over.

Tucked into a turtle sanctuary a few minutes north of Tulum, this beach side resort is the pinnacle of luxury and service. The staff are friendly, “infectiously positive” the rooms are immaculately cleaned and accommodating. The service and food is spectacular. The beach is cleaned of seaweed throughout the day, by tractor if they must, to accommodate a perfect beach day for guests; there’s events by the pool and excursions at the beach throughout the day, there’s always something new, fire dancers and churros - exciting shows every day of the week. Food allergies are considered. As far as resorts go, they have some of the most delicious food - the lamb shank from Santorini one of the newer restaurants literally fell off the bone it was incredibly tasty and tender. Hibachi styles, French, Greek, Italian, steak houses, cafes at all hours.
The only dings might be the noise in the mornings can wake people around 8-9AM as there’s little sound proofing for the rooms. There was also a family of 20+ mosquitos that must’ve double booked the room my wife & I were staying in, fans could be used to blow mosquitoes away from rooms.
Dings aside, the atmosphere, the staff, the immaculate beaches, the vip lounge, the 24/7 snacks(which is extremely rare), the quiet pools, main pool, secret paths to hammocks and hot tubs even the 3 iguanas that grace the resort. The divine spa and massages, the events team that kept entertainment fresh. The waiters, the staff that walk the property and just warmly greet us.
They all create a wonderful one-of-a-kind experience, I can go on and on about the positives, but this is a 5 star diamond resort that the staff proudly uphold.
Secrets Akumal is hands down the best resort in Mexico and there is no competition. My wife & I had an incredible time and if we’re lucky enough to be back in there Yucatán peninsula we will make a bee line back to Secrets Akumal

We cannot recommend Secrets Playa Mujeres Resort enough! This was not only our first visit to Cancún but our first all-inclusive experience; it was an incredible way to spend 7 wonderful days. The food was no less than good but there were some fantastic meals such as the Japanese restaurant, Himitsu. The hotel is about to undergo a major remodel, but the grounds were lovely and the rooms overall were nice (sure, slightly dated but nothing significant). The pools and bar were fabulous and the entire team was EXCEPTIONAL. Having worked in hospitality many years ago, my partner and I truly appreciate great service and SPM did not disappoint. As queer individuals as well, we felt completely comfortable, welcomed, and taken care of. We did have one tiny incident that occurred but the staff were so quick to respond and made everything right, no questions asked (things happen, and we understand that). Huge, huge shoutout to Paulina - the PC Guest Services Manager and to Allison from Concierge. We were so impressed by their service and the whole experience that we have booked to stay at Secrets Moxché at Playa del Carmen in December. A huge thank you to the entire team and we look forward to returning when the renovations are completed.

Just returned from a wonderful week spent at this resort. My finance and I loved it and had a really nice time. The pools were amazing, fun with lots of entertainment going on throughout the day. The beach was really nice. A bit of seaweed but not too bad. The room was clean and spacious with a jacuzzi tub which we enjoyed using. Staff was friendly and attentive, always available to help. Amazingly, for an all inclusive, the food was very good. Our favorite restaurant was the Italian place. We hope to visit again someday and definitely plan on visiting other Secrets resorts.

Great experience! Each and every staff member was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure the guests were happy. We hung out by the pool every day and Eugenia took the BEST care of us! She is awesome! The view of the beach from the pool can't be beat. The food is excellent. We can't wait to come back!

It was so much fun to celebrate our honeymoon at Secrets Playa Mujeres! Right from the get-go we were warmly welcomed with a champagne toast and the staff was immediately helpful in getting our baggage to our room. The resort is a little spread out so you will have to take golf carts to get between the lobby, the spa/restaurants, and the rooms, but you will never have to wait too long to get a cart.
The room that we had was very nice. Lots of room to spread out and there are a good number of amenities including a very nice bath, walk-in shower, fully stocked mini fridge, robes, and more. Our room had a partial beach view as well, which was very nice at sunset and sundown. The mini fridge was never fully stocked after taking stuff out of it, but room service and anything else you need was always just a call away and the staff is pretty timely in getting stuff to you. The resort does show it's age in spots, so it's not too surprising that it will be closing down in April for remodeling. There were definitely some parts of the resort that would benefit from a remodel.
The pool was great and there is an ample amount of chairs to find a spot. Although it got pretty busy during the afternoon hours. The pool had a swim-up bar as well as an infinity pool with a nice view of the ocean as well. The ocean is very easy to get to from the resort and the beach has chairs to lounge in as well as bar and servers coming around to take your drink orders. It's also worth noting that the spa is definitely worth a visit! The hydrotherapy and massage combo was very relaxing.
The restaurants on the resort were all really good. The buffet didn't necessarily blow me away but the other restaurants that we tried were pretty great. Our favorite was the Seaside Grill. The staff, from the golf cart drivers to the servers, were all really phenomenal and took every opportunity to make sure our experience was great. It was also fun to practice a little of our Spanish with them as well. There are a good number of activities to do during the day if you get bored of lounging by the beach and there are also some excursions that you can book through Amstar.
Overall we had a really good time! The staff treated us great and it was very hard to head home when all was said and done!

This was a great trip, with the beach and ocean being the highlight of this location. We have been to the Cancun area many times, and this has been the best place for calm, clear, swimmable ocean water without seaweed. I swam for hours every day!
The service and food were also very good, especially Oceana. I enjoyed my room with Ocean view, and room service was great. We always had a bottle of sparkling wine, which is my favorite. As for entertainment, we enjoyed the burlesque show.
The layout of the main pool was not the best—there wasn’t a good spot to see the ocean, be near your chair, and easily get in and out of the pool. The hot tub layouts were also a bit precarious and not designed for people who have had a few drinks. The Bali beds at the preferred club were great, and in an ideal location.
All of the restaurants were also great about food allergies. They took them very seriously, and made good substitutions when needed.
I’d definitely go to this location again, and I’m looking forward to checking out the improvements after they undergo their remodel. I imagine it will be even nicer.

Maroma beach is one of the top beaches in the world, and it shows. The staff work so hard to keep it pristine and free of seaweed. The rooms are cozy and elegant and the swim out pools perfect for a little romance away from the crowds. We had a spectacular time, and the service was top notch. The bars have a wide variety of fine liquors and there are several restaurants available. I found the huevos rancheros to be my favorite breakfast order when using room service. The property is impressive. 5 stars all around.

Secrets Maroma is the best all-inclusive I’ve been to! The staff were amazing and the service was top notch. Our concierge Roberto was absolutely amazing. He reached out to us daily to share what was going on the following day to make sure we could plan what we wanted to do accordingly. The beach, pool and activities were amazing.
Our favorite staff were,
- Torino and Patricio the cat in the preferred lounge. They provided such a welcoming atmosphere and amazing drinks.
- Alfredo and Carlos in the preferred beach club. They were so much fun to be around and they kept the mimosas flowing. On the last day they had a special breakfast treat for us and it made our day.
- Wilbert in the preferred beach club who provided us amazing service and the best night caps.
We are truly so thankful for all the staff and the experience we received. We will definitely be back!

We’ve been wanting to visit Secrets Maroma for a while, and it was absolutely worth the wait! The white sand beach is stunning with no seaweed or rocks and the resort’s welcoming vibe and amazing staff made our stay unforgettable.
We stayed in the Preferred Club Suites and had Roger as our personal concierge. He was friendly, calming, and made sure everything was perfect. The Preferred Club staff was incredible — they made us feel so special and served up the best drinks. Bernardo surprised us with so many creative, delicious drinks that we loved! Mauricio took great care of us on the beach, and Issac gave an excellent welcome presentation with helpful recommendations. We loved it so much we even upgraded our UVC membership!
The resort is spacious, the food is fantastic, and to top it all off, the team made our birthday an unforgettable experience. Our only regret is not staying longer. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this resort!

Best luxury all inclusive resort we have ever been to! The rooms were amazing, and staff cleaned every morning and came for turn down service and mini bar refills every evening. The restaurants and bars were awesome, and there was a 24 hour cafe open. The pools were lovely, and beach was very nice complete with beach concierge. Our concierge Carolina was fantastic - she paid attention to detail and anticipated everything we would need for our stay! The only very minor downside was when we were asked to upgrade our package and also attend a 90 min sales pitch, but otherwise everything was perfect and we would highly recommend this resort!

This is a wonderful resort, simply wonderful. Gorgeous rooms, stunning scenery, and delicious food. There is an amazing team making amazing lunches at the Barefoot Grille. Maria, David, and chef Daniel prepared two of the most delicious Mexican seafood dishes I have ever had. And they made our anniversary very special and memorable. We had the best time at Sun Palace. Our room was clean, modern, and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. The staff were excellent, food was great. Esmeralda was our waitress twice during our stay and she went above and beyond to accommodate us! We loved that they have 2 pools, one that's more of a party scene and a second on the other side of the hotel that is quiet and relaxing. We also loved that the resort is right on the beach- we went for daily beach walks! Would absolutely return!

If you are looking for a change from the mega resorts, this smaller resort might be for you. Surprisingly they pay more attention to the details and try to be more personal. The crepe and chocolate at the snack bar is incredible. The beach area was awesome with white sand and crystal clear blue waters. The resort has people clearing the beach area of debris each morning. The ratio of guests to towels is incredible, its like 20 towels for each person. One thing I wish they change -- get rid of the resort credits because they are useless. After using the resort credits you still have a service fee. The service fee is pretty much the full price of whatever that item really was to begin with. Don't count on resort credits and have a good vaca. We've been to Cancun resorts for the past 15 years, overall this resort was good.

Beautifully appointed room with large (2 people) bath tub with bubble. Restaurant were plentiful the maid buffet have lots of nice looking food. I missed some more vegetarian and fish salmon which you find in most luxury restaurants.
I had eaten something or drunk that gave me 2 out of 4 days of diarrhea.
The beach area is beautiful quite a few floating algae’s and some large rocks right where you get into the water.
The infinity pools 3x are gorgeous and pool service is great.
The bar room had a DJ from 10:30 - midnight good.
And 2x billiard tables

Came to this hotel three times. I brought my mom for a family trip the third time. Something unpleasant happened during our stay, Alexis from the public relations is really helpful and considerate, he went above and beyond to help us and followed through the entire process outside of his shift hour to make sure things are done right.
Sun Palace is lucky to have people like Alexis to work there, people that really care and do try their best to make sure the guests have a great time during their stay.
We will definitely come back.

Celebrated first wedding anniversary with my husband at the Sun Palace resort and it was an absolute dream come true. We had such an amazing time and the staff took great care of us- they really take the time to get to know each guest. The restaurants within the hotel were all excellent and the app made it easy to make reservations or order room service whenever needed! The two pools had their own vibe which was nice if you just wanted a chill pool day or more of a party vibe. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back!

I was lock out my room on my second day at Unico 2087 .mine you this a 5 star resort , poor Maintenance .this is what happened there is a Safety latch on the door for more security, the middle Screw and last screw was very loose that you can see it clearly was lifted up from the wood.apparently the Resort had some issue with it before I check in the room / Alco Ocean View Corner room on the 4th floor . Around the edges of the latch the wood was chipped real bad, as if maintenence did not do a very good job in installing it , a order was place with a young lady with short black hair and she was short in height she was from the Presentation Desk for the Time Shares.Carolina in Housekeeping , Juan in Maintenance and Armando Manager they all came to replace and install a new latch .Isamel my Conceirge was told what happened , he kindly gave me and My Husband a Unico white cap for being inconvenience .but Overall the food, other services, all the Waiters and Waitress was Excellente. Isamel was Excellente and very Helpful . I was very frustrated over being Lock out of my room : ( , I can't forget Patricia the Waitress in 2087 , I give her a 10 + she was so Friendly , I was applaud she recognized my face when I was at the Mura House : ) Good Job Patricia keep up the good work Great Customer Service .We were there for my Grandaughter Wedding on April 6, 2025 .

We visited UNICO recently for a friend’s wedding and it did live up to its name as a luxurious 5 star resort in terms of ambiance, amenities, cleanliness, and food/beverage options. However, there were a few hiccups that have prompted me to write a review because I hope this will be feedback that can improve the overall experience for future guests. Like many other all-inclusive resorts that we’ve been to, restaurants do require a reservation for dinner. Upon check-in, we were assigned a concierge host that were supposed to help with any requests, questions, accommodations, and restaurant reservations, etc. during our stay. Through WhatsApp, I reached out to our concierge host, Luis, for a few requests, including late check out and reservations. I asked twice about late check out and my question was completely ignored and never answered. Instead, I had to visit the front desk myself to inquire. When I requested a reservation for 5 people at Cueva Siete, Luis sent me a confirmation text that it was completed. However, when we arrived at the restaurant that night, we were told that the reservation was for 4 people, not 5, and they could not accommodate this. The restaurant was only half filled and did not seem that crowded, but informed us they were extremely busy. We waited over 35 minutes standing at the front of the restaurant for the concierge management team (Armando Diaz), who told us that the restaurant could not accommodate. This was a fault of the concierge host due to miscommunication. Thankfully, I had text receipts with Luis, but even with this, Armando refused to accept responsibility and be accountable for the mistake. The hospitality industry is based on customer service and satisfaction. This was supposed to be an easy fix, yet they didn’t want to accommodate even though we suggested that we would be happy with an extra chair at the original 4-person table they were going to sit us at. After all the wasted time and frustrated words back and forth, they finally decided that they could sit us outside with an extra chair extended to a table. This whole situation negatively affected our overall experience because we had enjoyed our stay up until this point. The communication between the different teams definitely needs improvement. In addition, I also attempted to contact the hotel prior to checking in about arranging my friends’ rooms near each other and that was not successful. At check-in, I was told that this was still not possible and we had to wait for others to check out the next day. I’ve stayed at multiple hotels around the world and I’ve never met this much resistance when asking for certain accommodations. If it weren’t for these hiccups, this would have been one of the best all-inclusive resorts I’ve stayed in. As a 5 star resort for the price it’s valued at, I didn’t expect such disappointments.

One of the best resorts by far! The staff is spectacular, helpful and so kind! Everyone has a smile on their face. Our concierge Ismael helped us with booking our restaurant reservations and spa services and made the trip so easy for us! He also informed us of the daily activities going on at the resort! There were many dining options on the resort, the gym, spa and pool were fantastic, and the food was high quality. One of my most relaxing vacations yet, I can’t wait to go back!

This resort is absolutely stunning and hands down the best resort experience I’ve ever had! The food and drinks were fantastic, with a variety of options that I really appreciated. I especially loved the on-site coffee bar, which stayed open late, and the 24/7 room service was a nice touch. The only downside was the service on the beach, which was a bit slow, and the seaweed and rocks near the shore were a bit off-putting, though I was still able to enjoy the water. I would definitely return, though I’d love to see more activities available and wish the dry and steam saunas were included.

Excellent, but pricey, way to spend some time in Mexico (an hour outside of Cancun). The facility was nice but showing some signs of age in some places. The service and staff were great. Food was abundant and of good quality. This was an adults only resort which made it great for older travelers. Nice community pool areas. The resort's beach was small and unadorned but well kept. I would go back.

We really enjoyed our holidays at Desire Perl.
The food was delicious but the service being delivered was outstanding. Our special thanks go to Victor from the pool who made us feeling so comfortable. He looked after us so well every day and always tried to fulfill our wishes. Also Yolanda from the restaurant and the Playmakers were just great. Thank you so much for everything!
Unfortunately, the beach was very disappointing. You could not even walk in because of all the seagrass. We also would wish for a better DJ at the disco. It felt like he was playing the same playlist each night.
The other guests were very kind, respectful and friendly at this relaxing place but most of them far to old for us to enjoy „Lifestyle“ a bit more. As they have different places/ resorts we would check out a different location of this group next time. However all in all it was a pleasure and we enjoyed our time. Thank you guys!!!

98% of the staff were among the best I've ever seen. Unfortunately the other 2% needs help. The constant attempts to get us to spend money was not appreciated in an all inclusive resort (Would you like to upgrade your room for $300 [before we saw the room], you can't have a glass of chainti, you have to buy a bottle [$100 for a $12 bottle], buy a membership for only $70,000 [oops too much? maybe $17,000], then got angry when we didn't buy, even though I said I would not buy anything, and on and on.
The other issue is dessert. The absolute worst I ever have been served. It was like the pastry chef had NEVER even seen the item. Inedible.
Again, the vast majority of the staff could not do enough for the guests.

We have had the most amazing time during our stay. The staff is fabulous ! Attentive , helpful, always there to take care of you. Victor takes care of you at the pool along with his guys. The staff helped us pull off the best birthday dinner for my husband. Over the top service, fantastic display of food, very accommodating at every level. And they were happy to do it. Two chefs, Perla and Nico worked together to make the best appetizers, dinner and his favorite dessert. The waiter, Gerardo along with Eva and Antonio took great care of our 20 guests with ease. The bartenders, Pedro and Saul made sure the drinks were never empty. And all of this could not have come together without the help of Hector our butler and the hotel manager Laura. A huge shout out to all of these hardworking awesome people. Thank you. We will be back.

I have been a member of Palace since 2010 and I have been to so many upgrade/update presentations in the last 15 years, that I feel compelled to warn others against signing these contracts. In my experience, with signing new agreements, I have lost benefits that I had and this is never mentioned to me. I think that by upgrading, I maintain the benefits I had and am getting better, but this has not been the case. They ask for your credit card to get the deposit before drawing up the contract. Then it is quite difficult when what is in the contract is different from what the salesperson promised. They also go very quickly over the contract and only point out the positives, while omitting the changes made to the membership, plus it is very small on the tablet and impossible to read all of it. They have now improved the process whereby you have 5 days to go over it and cancel, but at this time, you are most likely still on vacation, without access to a lawyer, and it is impossible to read the document on your phone.
I went through this process in December and cancelled within 5 days. It took months before I could get my credit card reimbursed and I had to dispute the charges and get the credit card company involved.
In the 15 yrs that I have been a member at Palace, they have also made changes to the benefits to members that weren't in writing, as well as using any writing in the contract that isn't explicit to their own interpretation (which differs from how things were), thereby lessening the value of the weeks that have already been purchased. I believe this is done because it leaves people wanting more and therefore more motivation to upgrade. Based on my experiences, I DO NOT recommend purchasing memberships with Palace.

Had a very good time! Happy that we chose this place for stay. The one thing was that I did not feel the service was enough for the price we payed, but everything else was amazing and especially the food! The French fries were very soggy and the room service we ordered took a long time to come, but there are over 2000 hotels in this resort. We understand the wait. I hope we can come back next time because it was so much fun!

We had a very good time. A majority of the restaurants were amazing. We enjoyed the waterpark and the pools as well as other activities such as bowling and the wired lounge. The only notably not so great thing about the resort is the beach.

Pools were not heated at the Grand, tried several (Cusco, Caribeno, etc) and all were cold in mid-March 2025. Little kids were shivering. I even asked Concierge and they claimed those pools were heated but they felt the same as the non heated pools (Los Tacos/Nizuc) so obviously a lie. Was here last year, I know what heated pool feels like here. This place has gone downhill and you can see the warnings from other guests but this vacation was booked way in advance.
Edit: Hotel Manager responded with “We would like to inform you that since few weeks ago, only the Jacuzzis by the Family pool and the Unique day Club are still heated since this depends on the ambient temperature.” Enjoy the non-heated pools with your family in breezy March weather, the Unique Day Club is adults only, the jacuzzi is not the same as a heated pool, and there are so many pools but none (other than the adult only) are heated. I understand some families prefer a refreshing cold plunge but The Grand clearly does not even provide a choice.

We recently stayed at Grand Moon Palace for 8 nights, and unfortunately, it was a far cry from the relaxing vacation we had hoped for. While the resort has its positives, the overall experience left us frustrated and disappointed.
Booking Issues & Resort Credit One of the major issues we faced was related to our $500 USD resort credit, which was part of our booking. Upon arrival, we asked about the credit, only to be told that the hotel had no record of it and that we were only entitled to a $200 credit. After showing the employee our booking confirmation, we were told we needed to go to Public Relations to resolve the issue. This was just the beginning of an exhausting back-and-forth. Eventually, another employee reached out and claimed she could assist, but when my husband went to speak with her, he was immediately pressured into attending a timeshare breakfast in exchange for a larger credit. He declined, but the following morning, we were bombarded with phone calls, waking up our entire family multiple times—including disturbing our baby during naps—persisting that he should attend. The calls escalated to the point of harassment, as they even threatened to track him down on the beach to persuade him to join the breakfast. Throughout all of this, our original $500 resort credit was never provided, and we were left with a constant feeling of frustration.
Airport Transfer Chaos Things only got worse when we tried to confirm our airport transfer. A day before departure, I checked the app, which showed the transfer scheduled for the wrong day. When I called to ask why it had been moved, I was told that the transfer had been changed to the day before our actual departure—an email was sent three days prior, which I had somehow missed during our vacation. Despite showing them the confirmation email and booking details, they refused to reinstate our transfer and insisted it was our fault for not checking email during our vacation. This forced my husband to spend half of our last day dealing with the situation, which at 8pm the night before we needed to leave at 8am they finally agreed to take us. The lack of customer service and accountability from the resort management was absolutely appalling.
The Resort Experience The resort itself is quite large, and while many of the employees were friendly, the overall customer service fell short. The management seems to have no capacity to address issues directly and constantly pushed us from one department to another, none of whom could resolve our problems. The resort credit situation was never resolved, and we were offered a $200 credit plus a massage for a future visit when we checked out, despite us making it clear we would not be returning.
Other Points of Interest The food was decent, with Jade being the standout restaurant. However, we were disappointed by the water park, which had strict height restrictions that limited our 8-year-old’s access to the slides. Despite being tall for his age, he was only allowed on one slide, even with a parent accompanying him.
Conclusion Overall, while the resort has potential, the terrible customer service and the issues we faced with our booking, resort credit, and airport transfer made it a very stressful stay. We would not recommend this resort based on our experience, as the management seemed unwilling or unable to resolve issues, and the resort credit promised in our booking turned out to be non-existent. If you’re looking for a smooth and relaxing vacation, this might not be the place for you.

First time visit to Desire. The trip was much better then i would have imagined. The resort is small enough to be cozy and familiar without feeling like you have no privacy. The food is excellent with a variety of options to choose from. My favourite by far was the buffet. As a vegetarian my choices were plentiful. Not to knock the restaurants. Despite not having many vegetarian options on the menu the chef was always eager to create some vegetarian option. The staff at Desire cannot be praised enough. From the person who takes your luggage when arriving, to the front desk staff checking you in , to the activity leaders, servers, spa staff and general laborers. Everyone is polite, friendly, helpful and professional. A shout out to the few staff we got to know , Pina, Bella, Bobbi, Mariane, Leyda, Andrea, Erik, Davis, Luis, Carlos, and my apologies for anyone i've forgotten.

Another wonderful trip to Desire. Loved the new Eden section add-on! It was nice to have the option between a party pool and a quiet pool. Food was wonderful everywhere we ate. Staff was INCREDIBLE - all of them from housekeeping to entertainment to front desk! Now that Eden is done, I am praying they will upgrade the old rooms as they really need it.

First timers, very warm welcome, we enjoyed ourselves had a good time but at same time We have mixed feelings. For the good . Clean place, works are very helpful, the pool very nice the room smell good updated and clean room every day , (worker 100,%) bad , they need to paint the edges of all steps yellow so you can see ( one color hidden the edge) I did trip a cpl time cause I can not see it . Bathroom by pool need rubber mats all the way in . The last and biggest the food 1 out of 5 . Nice looking fun and upper class good but no TASTE . The food need a lot of help a lot don't go and think you getting good fun it's something just to eat until you get home . And side walks are leaning be careful .but now we know and yes will go back but know more now

Even with last-minute changes, they accommodated our needs effortlessly, always ensuring our guests had the best possible experience.
Beyond the excellent service, the resort was clean and well-maintained. The beaches, pools, gym, and guest rooms were all spotless.

Google Palace Resort Memberships before making decisions to purchase memberships. Don’t purchase until you do! My wife and I have came 20+ times in the last 3 years. The last time we came we got a cold reception from our friends that work there. Only because they were instructed too by management Our friends told us management don’t want employees showing any type of attention to non members. We always generously tip our friends and spend just as much money as any member. We have spent over $200k US dollars the last couple years and referred multiple people and for management to tell our friends not to give us any attention because it makes members unhappy is disgustingly rude. I will never return and it’s sad that taking people's money to join a membership is more important than return guests. And if you go to any event and you see reserved seats, it’s fake! We were also told by employees it’s to make you feel like you have to purchase a membership to have the best seats. Just take the reserved seat because they put fake names on them. Last time we were there our room wasn’t clean.$1500 per night and no clean room, no towels after being gone all day is unacceptable no matter if you have incoming guests or not. Employees told us they only want members and not return guests. We were told this by 8 different people about management trying to make people feel as they have to pay four a membership before employees treat you like family. Sick! Once they figure out that your not ever going to one of the seminars to by a timeshare they don’t want you back. You lost a friend and great customer! You can thank yourselves being greedy.

This resort is truly outstanding. The food is exceptional, the rooms are stunning and impeccably clean. However, what truly sets this place apart is the service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a remarkable experience for their guests. A special thank you to David, Carlos, and Nancy at the buffet for their incredible service. Our butlers, Santiago and Luis, were also amazing and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend this resort and can’t wait to return!

Just arrived home from this resort & man am I happy to have some decent food. My friend and I barely ate during our stay because it was that disgusting. There was absolutely no flavor with any of the food. The fruit even tasted weird. Everything tasted stale. This place was 1500 for one night & didn’t even serve coronas. It reminded me of a cheap cruise. I’d pay less than 500 a night for what we had. We waited over an hour to be checked in, had multiple issues with our room. The butlers were nice, but that’s about it. If I’m paying a premium for a “luxury” all inclusive- I’m honestly expecting that luxury in the accommodation. I’ve stayed at Grand Velas properties and they blew me away for all inclusive. Definitely save your money if you enjoy eating good food.
